For 23 years, The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf Philippines has been part of everyday moments and meaningful connections shared over every cup. This year, CBTL Philippines marks its milestone anniversary with A Story in Every Cup — a special celebration running from May 26 to August 16, 2026, featuring limited-edition collectible tumblers, the return of its viral Dry Americano beverages, and a meaningful initiative that gives back to the community.
The 23rd Anniversary Collection
At the heart of the anniversary celebration is the launch of the 23rd Anniversary Collection, a trio of Philippine-exclusive tumblers inspired by Filipino stories, culture, and identity. Guests can redeem the limited-edition collection with just 12 stamps, making it even easier to bring home a meaningful keepsake from CBTL Philippines’ 23rd anniversary.
The collection features three unique tumbler designs: Lakbay, Talâ, and Pamana. Each represents stories rooted in Filipino experiences and values.
Lakbay, which means “journey,” captures snapshots of Filipino culture and landscapes, celebrating the beauty of travel and everyday discovery.
Talâ, inspired by the act of documenting memories and moments, reflects the stories and experiences shared through the years.
Meanwhile, Pamana, meaning “heritage” or “legacy,” pays tribute to the roots, traditions, and enduring connections that continue to shape the CBTL community today.
The Dry Americano Series
Adding to the celebration is the much-awaited return of the Dry Americano Series, featuring two fan-favorite flavors alongside an exciting new addition. First introduced last year, the Dry Americano quickly became a viral TikTok favorite for its bold espresso-forward profile paired with creamy indulgence — offering coffee lovers a refreshing twist on the classic Iced Americano.
Returning this year are the well-loved Dry Vanilla Americano and Dry Double Chocolate Americano, alongside the new Dry Hazelnut Chocolate Americano, a decadent blend of dark chocolate and hazelnut flavors topped with creamy half-and-half.
Guests can earn stamps from participating beverage purchases, including the Dry Americano Series, to complete the 12-stamp collection and redeem the anniversary tumblers.
Giving Back Through Every Cup
Beyond the anniversary offerings, the celebration also supports a meaningful cause. Proceeds from the anniversary collection will help fund the U-Go Scholar Grant implemented by the Ayala Foundation, which supports young women from economically disadvantaged backgrounds in pursuing higher education.
For CBTL Philippines, the anniversary is more than a milestone — it is a celebration of the people, stories, and connections that continue to inspire every cup shared along the way.

There is a new reason to brave the Congressional Avenue traffic, and it feels exactly like coming home. There is a special kind of comfort that only comes from a kitchen run by a family. It is in a way the table is set, the generosity of the portions, and that unmistakable feeling that you are a guest in someone’s home rather than just a customer at a table. Located on the second floor of Barrington Place along Congressional Avenue, this charming restaurant isn’t just about serving good food. It’s about creating a space where people can gather, linger, and return to time and again. Behind Thyme & Again is a family story, first and foremost that feels close to home.
Built on Family, Fueled by Passion
While the names behind the menu might be veterans in the food industry, this isn’t another cookie-cutter franchise. This is personal. Thyme & Again is the culmination of 15 years in the industry for Desiree Benipayo. After years of managing well-known franchises, she has finally stepped out to create something entirely her own. Beside her are her daughters, Dana and Audrey, making this a true family-run venture built from the ground up. It is a neighborhood sanctuary designed for slow mornings, long lunches, and dinners that linger well past the final course.
Mediterranean Flavors with a Local Heartbeat
So, what exactly is ‘Mediterranean food with Filipino feels’? At this kitchen, it means taking the vibrant, sun-drenched culinary traditions of the European coast, think Spain, Italy, and France and filtering them through a local palate. It isn’t about being “fusion” for the sake of being trendy; it it about cooking the way many Filipino families do: with warmth, generosity, and zero borders.
The menu is built for discovery. You’ll find familiar Mediterranean flavors, but they are seasoned with that distinct Filipino soul that makes every bite feel approachable. These are plates designed to be shared, passed around the table, and discussed over a second (or third) helping. Whether you are craving the brightness of a Spanish coastal dish or that hearty comfort of an Italian classic, there is a subtle local sensibility here that makes the food pop.
More Than Just a Clever Name
You might be wondering about the name. Aside from the obvious pun (who doesn’t love a good herb joke?), Thyme and Again represents the cycle of a good meal. The team uses real herbs and real warmth to create the kind of experience that makes you want to return “thyme” and again.
And it isn’t just the food that keeps you grounded. The playlist isn’t your typical generic cafe lo-fi. It is curated to sound like a family vacation soundtrack, timeless, cross-generational tracks that your lola, your parents, and your Gen Z siblings can all vibe to. It’s the perfect backdrop for those long, slow weekend brunches that accidentally turn into early dinners.
In a city full of flashy, fast-paced dining, Thyme and Again feels like a much-needed exhale. It matters because it fills that gap between “fine dining” and “fast casual.” It is the perfect destination for:
Relaxed Weekend Brunches: Where the pace is slow and the light is perfect for a lazy morning.
Meaningful Midweek Lunches: A place to escape the office hum and enjoy a meal that feels intentional.
Celebratory Dinners: When you want a venue that feels special but remains entirely approachable and warm.

Celebrate Mom at Thyme & Again
With Mother’s Day happening tomorrow, there is truly no better time to visit a restaurant that was built on the bond between a mother and her daughters. Why not treat Mom to a meal that feels like a warm embrace? It is the perfect setting to celebrate the woman who taught you the true meaning of a home-cooked meal.
Where to find them: 2F Barrington Place, 27 Congressional Avenue, Quezon City.
Stay updated: Follow Thyme and Again PH on Instagram and Facebook for a look at their latest dishes and kitchen stories.
Make your reservations now and head over to Congressional Avenue this weekend. It is time to experience a neighborhood favorite that celebrates family with every single plate.

It’s a flavorful twist designed for sharing—perfect for families looking to make Mother’s Day a little more special without the stress of cooking.

Tea is something most Filipinos have known their whole lives. It is in our mornings, our conversations, our quieter moments. While it feels familiar, there is so much more to learn about tea: the regions it comes from, the seasons that shape it, the generations of craft that bring it to the cup.
This May, CHAGEE invites you to explore the world of tea making. To welcome International Tea Day on May 21, CHAGEE Philippines is marking the occasion with a new jasmine oolong tea, and a series of experiences designed to bring people genuinely closer to tea culture.
A New Tea, and the Story Behind It
On May 8, CHAGEE introduces the BO·YA Jasmine Tieguanyin Tea series, the newest addition to its BO·YA Jasmine series.
The BO·YA name carries a two-thousand-year-old story of genuine connection that echoes through the ages, featuring Boya, a master musician whose playing was so deeply felt that only one person, a humble woodcutter named Ziqi, could fully understand it. Their bond became one of Chinese culture’s most enduring expressions of genuine connection: the idea that something made with real honesty will always find the people who appreciate it. It is a hope that runs through every cup in the BO·YA series: That somewhere out there, for every blend crafted with care, there is someone who will pick it up, take a sip, and simply understand.
The new drink opens with a gentle front note of jasmine before the distinct orchid character of Tieguanyin, a prized variety of oolong, slowly follows. This builds the first sip into a taste that is floral, layered, and quietly complex. The Tieguanyin oolong base is sourced from the high-altitude gardens of Southern Fujian, China, while the jasmine flowers come from Hengxian in Guangxi, known in the world for producing jasmine of exceptional quality and lasting fragrance.
Alongside the new drink, CHAGEE has designed a small collection of tea-inspired merchandise for the season, including a Tea-Scented Charm, a Tea Icons Keychain, and the Tea Roots Tumbler, each drawing from the natural elements and imagery behind CHAGEE’s teas. Selected merchandise will be available bundled with BO·YA Family drinks in-store during the launch period.
[From L-R] CHAGEE International Tea Day Merchandise: Tea Roots Mini Tumbler, Tea-Scented Charm, & Tea Icons Keychain
And for those who want to go a little deeper, CHAGEE will also be releasing a specially curated publication dedicated to the culture and heritage of tea, available at select stores from May 21. More details to follow closer to International Tea Day.
Experiencing What Makes a Good Cup of Tea
To fully immerse Pinoy tea lovers in the process of tea-making, CHAGEE will launch a Sip and Learn Tea Workshop on May 11, where invited guests will be guided by a Tea Master through the aromas, flavours, and stories that make a great cup of tea. It will be a first step, and an intentional one: a reminder that the story of tea is best experienced in person, and that there is more to come for those who are curious.
A second session – which the public can join by signing up through the CHAGEE app – will follow at SM North EDSA on May 21, and a final session at Robinsons Galleria on June 6, so there are plenty of opportunities to take part throughout the season.
On International Tea Day itself, CHAGEE is also inviting Filipinos to slow down and take a real tea break. From May 18 to 21, during meryenda time at 3 PM, the first 100 customers at every CHAGEE Philippines store can claim a complimentary Regular BO·YA Jasmine Tieguanyin Milk Tea. It is CHAGEE’s way of marking the day simply and sincerely: with a good cup of tea, shared with as many people as possible.
“Most people drink tea every day, and that is exactly why we think it is worth pausing to understand it a little better,” said Philip Dee, Tea Master at CHAGEE Philippines. “When you stop and look closely, what you find is extraordinary. Centuries of knowledge, farmers who understand their soil the way musicians understand their instruments, and a quiet kind of craft that most of the world never gets to see. International Tea Day is a meaningful reminder of all of that, and an invitation for all of us to slow down, pay attention, and discover what has always been in the cup.”
CHAGEE’s International Tea Day offerings are available across all Philippine stores from May 8. For those who have ever been curious about what makes a great cup of tea, this May is a good time to find out. For more information, visit CHAGEE Philippines FB, IG, TikTok, or download the CHAGEE App.
Have you ever dreamed of wandering through the cobblestone streets of Madrid in search of the perfect midnight snack? You can officially put your passport away because the gold standard of Spanish treats is right here in the heart of Ortigas. Chocolatería San Ginés officially opened its Asian flagship at The Podium, bringing over 130 years of sweet, chocolatey history to our local food scene.
San Ginés The Podium
A Century of Tradition in Every Bite
Since its start in 1894, San Ginés has been a Madrid institution, serving as the ultimate destination for locals and travelers alike.
Now, that same legacy is being recreated for Manila. This isn’t just another dessert shop; it is a refined yet vibrant café experience.
The star of the show is, of course, the Churros con Chocolate. These aren’t your average mall snacks. We are talking about churros that are freshly made to be perfectly crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. They are served with the brand’s world-famous Signature Hot Chocolate, a rich, velvety, and deeply comforting recipe that hasn’t changed for over 132 years. Is there anything more satisfying than that first dip?
Beyond the Chocolate: A Full Spanish Feast
While the churros might get you through the door, the rest of the menu will keep you in your seat. San Ginés Manila is going beyond the sweets to offer a curated selection of Spanish tapas. Whether you are looking for a solo snack or a spread to share with the squad, these dishes celebrate bold flavors and time-honored techniques.
If you are coming in with a serious appetite, you have to try their paellas. From seafood-heavy variations to savory meat options, these are built on rich, layered flavors and premium ingredients.
It’s the kind of communal dining that Filipinos love, making it a perfect destination for family Sundays or catching up with friends over a shared pan of rice.
A Coffee Culture Worth Staying For
Need a caffeine fix? The flagship also boasts a specialty coffee program designed to pair perfectly with both their sweet churros and savory tapas. Whether you’re an espresso purist or someone who loves a milky latte, the attention to detail here matches the high standards of their chocolate. It’s the kind of place where you can linger over a cup and feel the pulse of Madrid’s vibrant café culture right in the heart of Manila.
Manila has always had a deep appreciation for Spanish heritage, but San Ginés brings a level of prestige and history that is hard to match. It isn’t just another café; it is a landmark destination bringing timeless flavors closer to home.
The experience continues with a curated selection of specialty coffees, designed to complement both the sweet and savory sides of the menu.
The menu goes beyond churros. A thoughtfully curated selection of Spanish tapas takes the spotlight, ideal for sharing with loved ones or enjoying solo.
Guests can expect classic favorites that celebrate bold flavors and time-honored techniques, all served with a casual yet refined approach to dining reminiscent of the café culture that has defined San Ginés for generations.
And here is an insider tip: this is just the beginning. The brand has already teased new flavors and offerings in the works, alongside plans to open more San Ginés locations across Manila in the future. Is your neighborhood next on the list?
San Ginés stands out by keeping things simple and authentic. It is the perfect destination for everything from a first date to a catch-up session with your barkada. The atmosphere is refined yet vibrant, capturing that European café vibe without the pretension.
Your Table is Ready
The wait is over and the chocolate is pouring. You can find San Ginés on the Ground Floor of The Podium, ready to serve you a piece of Madrid’s culinary soul.
If you have been looking for an excuse to visit SM Podium, this is it. Whether you are there for the iconic chocolate dip or a full Spanish feast, San Ginés is set to be your new favorite hangout.

This first year has been an exciting journey of creativity, and we’re thrilled to keep evolving for our guests.”
