Disney+ has officially dropped the trailer and key art for its highly anticipated original limited series, “Good American Family.” Starring Ellen Pompeo, Mark Duplass, and Imogen Faith Reid, the psychological drama premieres March 19, kicking off with two episodes exclusively on Disney+. New episodes will follow weekly.
A Twisting, Unpredictable Family Drama
Told from multiple perspectives, “Good American Family” takes viewers deep into a controversial adoption case that sparks shocking revelations. Inspired by unsettling real-life events, the series follows a Midwestern couple who adopt a young girl with a rare form of dwarfism, raising her alongside their biological children. But as questions arise about her true age and identity, the family spirals into suspicion and fear.
As they begin to see their adopted daughter as a threat, she fights to reclaim her own story—leading to a dramatic clash that explodes in tabloids and the courtroom.
A Star-Studded Cast & Acclaimed Creative Team
Alongside Pompeo, Duplass, and Reid, the series boasts a powerhouse supporting cast, including Dulé Hill, Christina Hendricks, Sarayu Blue, and Jenny O’Hara in recurring roles.
The series is the brainchild of Katie Robbins, who serves as co-showrunner and executive producer alongside Sarah Sutherland. Pompeo executive produces through her Calamity Jane production company, alongside Laura Holstein, Andrew Stearn, Dan Spilo, Niles Kirchner, and Mike Epps. The pilot is directed and executive produced by Liz Garbus, and the series is produced by 20th Television.
