  • Nike’s After Dark Tour Collection Rewrites Performance as a Style Identity

Nike’s After Dark Tour Collection Rewrites Performance as a Style Identity

Run or runway? Why not have both? Over 400 female runners gathered last night as Nike The Fort became a run-way. The launch of Nike After Dark Tour (ADT) Collection was celebrated with a fashion-forward running-inspired runway showcase, surprise athlete appearances, and a community run.

    2 ADT Gear Up

Run culture around the world is redefining what it means to dress for running, having performance product merge with style and identity. What she wears to the start line now says as much about her as her finish time: who she is, who she runs with and the community she has made her own.

    3 ADT Gear Up

Nike’s ADT run-way, styled by renowned Filipina stylist Lyn Alumno, was curated with this in mind and hopes to inspire Filipina runners to blur the lines and embrace self-expression through their looks on and off the racecourse.  Athletes Pauline Lopez and Kim Mangrobang lead the line up, alongside Nike Run Coaches, pacers and leaders of the run community such as Ashley Cayuca, as well as notable sports personalities such as Filipino volleyball icon Alyssa Valdez and yoga teacher Joanne Villablanca-Veridiano, ultimately showcasing the union of performance and style, while celebrating the Manila community. Some looks went bold in head-to-toe hyper pink. Others mixed and layered for an easy, after-run edge. No two looks were the same, and that was the point.

“My creative vision was centered on identity and on women, because this is a safe space for women like us. The clothes have to adapt to you, the movement has to go with you, and not the other way around. If you wear something uncomfortable, it definitely shows, and of course with running everything has to fit perfectly. It’s about being yourself, and just doing it.”  – Lyn Alumno

    4 ADT Gear Up

At the heart of the looks was the Nike After Dark Tour Collection, featuring performance-ready apparel alongside playful lifestyle looks, all designed to help athletes feel confident and comfortable from the start to finish line, and beyond.

The collection features a distinct hyper-pink colorway as the showstopper, mixed with black, grey and white options providing choice for styling bold head-to-toe color block looks, or unique mix and match layering. The generous range of shorts, tights, sports bras, crops, tees, sleeveless, rugby-style pull overs, and hoodies, mean the personalization options are endless.

    5 ADT Gear Up

While the colors offer choice, the bold ADT graphics are instantly recognizable, a nod to the cities of the global tour, connecting all runners as one global community.

To complete the look, Nike’s road running footwear including the Alphafly 4, Pegasus Plus 2, Pegasus 42, Zoom Fly 6, in ADT-specific colorways mean runners won’t only be looking fast, but will be running fast too.

“Before I thought that when I was running, I wasn’t allowed to be all [about] fashion. But now, it’s a fashion statement — you just show up and be yourself! I always go by if you feel good, you look good, you perform good.” — Nike Athlete, Pauline Lopez

After the show, host-creator Silvana Rauch joined Lyn and Ashley on stage to talk about what to wear on race day: how to balance performance, comfort and personal style when you step onto the course on 21 November.

    6 ADT Gear Up

“I started running because I was going through a difficult time in my life. I just wanted to get out, I just wanted to move, clear my head, and feel better. When Just Show Up Club started, I began getting messages from people with love and gratitude, thanking me for building this community. That’s when I realized that this is more than just fitness. It’s bigger than running. Community is so important because a person gains more confidence when you feel supported.”  — Ashley Cayuca

“What keeps me coming back to ADT is really the community. I don’t think anybody would stay in a space for a long period of time if you don’t enjoy the people you get to be with. Training with these women just feels amazing. I always go home with a huge smile on my face.”  — Silvana Rauch

With ADT Manila race night exactly one month away, the experience was kicked off with a 3km community run led by Nike Run Coaches Ra Teano and Bianca Ramos. The run was a chance to continue to build towards race night performance while also continuing to build connections with other runners. From warm up to cool down, the energy reflected the excitement and sense of community that have come to define the ADT experience in Manila and around the world.

” A non-negotiable: don’t try anything new on race day. We have four weeks to go, so I would recommend trying out different pieces to form your race day fit! This is your opportunity, so try them on as early as now. Find something comfortable. Find something fun that’s going to help inspire and motivate you. It’s all about comfort, reliability, and style.” — Nike Run Coach Ra Teano

The ADT Manila is on November 21, 2026, and slots are all sold out. The run kicks off in the evening at Roxas Boulevard, snaking its way through landmarks such as the National Museum, Jones Bridge, and Intramuros, before finally finishing at the Quirino Grandstand. Can’t be part of the race? You can still come and cheer for the women winning the night from the sidelines, and you can also sign up for the Nike Run Club and download the app to be a part of the Nike running community.

One month to go. Manila, get ready to run with puso.

The victory marked a milestone for Filipino street dance, showing how a discipline once regarded largely as a subculture is gaining ground internationally.

Beyond the gold medal was a story of hard work, sacrifice, and collective ambition. For the 24 dancers, the championship capped countless hours of training, teamwork, and determination to represent the Philippines with pride.

Its international achievements also include gold in the Under-16 category and silver in the Adult Mega Crew Division at the SOAR Street Dance Championships World Finals in Manchester.  Behind the medals are demanding rehearsals, physical exhaustion, and the trust built among teammates working toward a common goal.

    The Road to Gold

Rivera founded Legit Status to develop a Filipino dance team capable of competing internationally. His journey began with the UP Streetdance Club, the official street dance organization of the University of the Philippines Diliman. He later coached high school teams, including LSGH AirForce and the Assumption College Dance Troupe, before forming a varsity team determined to represent the Philippines abroad.

The name Legit Status reflects the team’s ambition to establish itself not just as a group of performers, but as artists and competitors worthy of standing alongside the world’s best.  “I’ve always been very competitive, but the confidence always comes from proper preparation,” Rivera said.  He knew international competition demanded more than mastering choreography. The team had to demonstrate that its preparation, technique, and stage presence could match those of competitors worldwide.

    viber image 2026 10 04 13 19 34 195

An earlier international competition reinforced his belief. After the preliminaries, Legit Status ranked seventh among 40 teams and advanced to the finals.  “That’s when I realized, the team really has what it takes to be the best in the world,” he recalled.  Reaching Blackpool required another test of resolve. Having regularly competed at Hip-Hop International events in Arizona, the team faced a different challenge in the United Kingdom.

Legit Status first had to qualify in the Philippines. Winning gold secured its place at the UDO World Finals, bringing the dancers closer to their goal. The journey also meant representing their teammates, families, and country.

The Steps, Sacrifices, and Spirit Behind the Gold

Dance offers young people a way to express themselves, connect with others, and explore their creativity. Competitive dance, however, demands discipline and accountability beyond the joy of performing.  “Dance should always be fun. It’s a way to release and express as an artist. But international competition requires a different level of commitment. High-level discipline, commitment, grit and hard work should be the topmost priority. Members should equally be committed to the enjoyment and excellence,” Rivera explained.

“The dance game in the UK is something else, and the opportunity to compete internationally is already such a mind-blowing thing to comprehend. UDO World Finals meant that I was one of the few teams representing the Philippines in the UK, which was different from other countries that have a lot of Philippine teams representing,” Kirin Dela Cruz gushed.

Dela Cruz knew the experience would bring growth as well as challenges that tested her confidence and abilities.  “Mentally, I had to fight and really commit to the whole process, especially with this new batch where-in I will form bonds and make new connections, I had to really put myself out there. Physically, it was draining and really tiring as it also clashed within the school year. The hardest part of training for me would be the endurance to do the full run, but what kept me going every time was hearing my coach say that “you are only as good as your last run”, driving me to be better every time,” Dela Cruz said.

In Blackpool, months of preparation came down to one performance.  “I was thinking a lot of things, and overthinking, but most of all, I was thinking about my teammates and how far we have come. Training in the venue, we were training and since we do a lot of cheers within the dance, it garnered attention from other teams, and at that moment I really wanted to show others the uniqueness of Filipino dance culture. I felt so grateful, and so proud of everyone in our team, especially since we are a very young team. I was so proud of how far we have gotten and all of our dreams and hopes come into reality,” she added.

For Vasty Villaflor, the experience was as much about personal growth and teamwork as winning. Beyond training and competition, she remembers the bonding, conversations, and interactions with teammates and dancers from other countries.  The journey also demanded sacrifices.  “Most of us had to give up our own time willingly of course because there was always a choice to stop and take a break, but for me being consistent and showing up even if takes up my time was an action and a sacrifice that would make it all worth it in the end,” she said.

Villaflor acknowledged the hard work of dance crews but said Legit Status and other teams also shared the willingness to thrive and succeed.  “Filipino dancers bring a level of creativity and uniqueness to dance competitions, and I think that’s one of our strengths, giving the audience something they didn’t expect and or have never seen before,” Villaflor smiled.

Dancing the Filipino Story on the World Stage

For Rivera, international recognition means more than winning competitions. He hopes the team’s achievements will encourage greater appreciation for Filipino artists and their creativity.  “More than anything, I want them to respect Filipino artists and Filipino creativity,” he said. “And I want them to see that through Legit Status Varsity.”

The team’s success adds to the growing visibility of Filipino dancers in the international street dance community, where performers bring distinct musical influences, movement styles, and creative interpretations to the stage.

It also expands the conversation about Filipino excellence. While the country’s sporting achievements are often associated with basketball, boxing, and gymnastics, street dance highlights another dimension of Filipino talent. Combining artistic expression with athletic ability, technical precision, musical interpretation, and teamwork, it can open opportunities for young dancers to compete internationally, pursue professional careers, and represent the country through their art.

Litan believes Filipino dancers have a distinctive way of interpreting music and transforming a performance space through creativity.

Preparing the Dance Floor for a New Generation

For young Filipinos aspiring to compete internationally, the path is not always clear. Dance is often viewed as a hobby or extracurricular pursuit, something to balance with conventional academic and career ambitions.

Legit Status Varsity offers a different perspective. Its achievement shows that dance can be pursued with the seriousness of other competitive disciplines, requiring sustained training, commitment, resilience, and continuous learning.  For the team, the gold medal is a milestone, not a final destination. Rivera said Legit Status Varsity plans to celebrate its victory before turning its attention to the next competition.  The group also has corporate and television projects in the pipeline, along with the possibility of preparing for another competition. These plans reflect its ambition to grow, embrace new challenges, and create more opportunities for its dancers.

The Blackpool victory has brought 24 young Filipinos into the spotlight, but its significance extends beyond the medals. It demonstrates what happens when talent meets discipline, ambition is nurtured in a local studio, and young people work toward a shared goal.

Their achievement also offers encouragement to aspiring dancers wondering how far their passion can take them. With preparation, perseverance, and a team willing to grow together, the world stage need not remain a distant dream.

The gold recognizes what Legit Status Varsity has accomplished. The greater promise lies in what they can achieve next, and in the generations of Filipino dancers they may inspire to follow in their footsteps.

  • HaploScience: Johnson’s Baby Proves the Power of Gentle Care

HaploScience: Johnson’s Baby Proves the Power of Gentle Care

Johnson’s Mombassadors, content creator Lottie Bie and beauty queen Samantha Bernardo, recently gained a new understanding of something they now have to navigate as first-time moms: caring for their babies’ skin.

    Johnsons Baby HaplosScience 65

Through firsthand experience with the science, they learned that newborn skin, unlike adult skin, loses moisture faster, making it more prone to dryness and irritation. Family bar soap may seem sufficient or convenient for bath time, but babies need a range of bath and lotion products formulated to protect their delicate newborn skin.

It’s one of the many things first-time moms have to learn along the way. After all, they’re often bombarded with an endless stream of advice: the dos and don’ts, signs to watch out for, and products to use. As they say, there’s no manual for motherhood. The good thing is that Johnson’s Baby is there to help moms along the way, educating them on how to preserve their baby’s soft, healthy-looking skin, perfect for every pisil and gigil.

    Johnsons Baby HaplosScience 25

    Hydration is protection

This is where a mother’s instinctive touch meets science.

    Johnsons Baby HaplosScience 19

At the recent “Johnson’s Baby HaploScience: Proving the Power of Gentle Care” event, held on Oct. 9 at LEAP Studios in Makati City, moms got a closer look at the science behind gentle newborn care through immersive experiments, interactive activities, and research presentations.

According to Neha Sahatpure, Kenvue Research & Development Scientist, “The biggest misconception is that a baby’s skin is the same as an adult’s skin and that babies can use the same products.” For the first time, Johnson’s Baby brought moms closer to the products by highlighting their safety and gentleness, superior hydration and moisturization, and gentle cleansing properties through fun experiments.

    Johnsons Baby HaplosScience 82

Doctors and nurses also shared baby-care tips, promoting the right regimen of cleansing, moisturizing, and massaging with Johnson’s Baby. They debunked common newborn skincare misconceptions and answered questions from moms, including why the products they use on their own skin may not necessarily be suitable for a newborn’s.

The brand also launched the new formulation of the Johnson’s Baby Milk+Rice Bath & Lotion regimen, which provides 72-hour hydration. The formulation contains milk proteins, rice extracts, Vitamin B5, and is now enriched with aloe vera.

With more than 132 years of expertise in baby care, Johnson’s Baby, the no. 1 baby-care brand prescribed by doctors, has continued to develop products specifically formulated for babies’ delicate skin. With its latest formulation upgrade, the brand continues to fulfill its promise of providing gentle care.

    What moms learned

Samantha Bernardo and Lottie Bie, Johnson’s Baby’s new “Mombassadors,” said the experience made them rethink some of their own assumptions about newborn skincare.

    Johnsons Baby HaplosScience 77

“I didn’t realize before how quickly newborn skin can lose moisture. I always thought that a newborn’s skin was naturally healthy as is and didn’t need any additional care. That’s why I hardly used products on my baby before,” Lottie said. “Sometimes, we think that what we normally use at home, like family soap, will do. Now, I’m more conscious about choosing products that are specially formulated for babies because some family products contain harsh ingredients that may damage a newborn’s skin.”

Meanwhile, motherhood has taught Samantha Bernardo that preparation can only take you so far.

“I have always been used to preparing for different things in my career, but motherhood is definitely one experience you can’t really prepare for,” Samantha Bernardo said. “There are always new things to learn, and knowing why a baby’s skin needs extra attention helps me make better choices.”

    Johnson’s Mompreneur Affiliate Program

Being a mom is tough, even more so in this challenging economy. But moms don’t have to figure everything out on their own, thanks to Johnson’s Baby.

Johnson’s Baby proudly launches its Mompreneur Program, a community where mothers can learn how to care for their babies, connect with fellow moms, and earn more for their families.

    Johnsons Baby HaplosScience 133

According to Samantha Onglatco, Brand Manager for Baby Care at Kenvue Philippines, “The Johnson’s Mompreneur community gives moms access not only to baby-care tips, but also to useful skills that can help them create content and earn through social commerce platforms. We have connected mothers with resources, such as training sessions and workshops, to help them grow their content creation skills.” The program also supports aspiring mompreneurs through content creation and affiliate opportunities that can provide additional sources of income.

For mothers who may already feel overwhelmed by childcare and everyday economic pressures, the community aims to offer information, support, and inspiration to help them grow.Indeed, motherhood may not come with a manual. But having the science to understand what their babies need, products formulated to address those needs, and a community they can turn to can help moms make everyday choices with greater confidence. That leaves plenty more room for cuddling, kissing, and all that gigil, from the very first haplos to all the little moments that follow.
