Illumination’s animated movie adaptation of the hit video game franchise has dropped its official trailer! Starring the voice of Chris Pratt as the iconic character, The Super Mario Bros. Movie promises to deliver a fun film filled with references from different games across the franchise!

The film follows the plumber Mario who must join forces with Luigi, Princess Peach, and Toad to put a stop to the evil Bowser and his plans of invasion. Joining Pratt on the voice cast are Anya Taylor-Joy as Princess Peach, Charlie Day as Luigi, Jack Black as Bowser, Keegan-Michael Key as Toad, Seth Rogen as Donkey Kong, Fred Armisen as Cranky Kong, Kevin Michael Richardson as Kamek, and Sebastian Maniscalco as Spike.
The Super Mario Bros. Movie is directed by Aaron Horvath and Michael Jelenic, and produced by Illumination founder and CEO Chris Meledandri and Nintendo’s Shigeru Miyamoto. The movie is set to hit US theaters on April 7, 2023.
