Mystery gets a wonderfully woolly spin in “The Sheep Detectives,” an upcoming comedy mystery featuring an impressive ensemble led by Hugh Jackman. Joining him are Nicholas Braun, Nicholas Galitzine, and Molly Gordon, with Hong Chau and Emma Thompson, alongside Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Bryan Cranston, Chris O’Dowd, Regina Hall, Patrick Stewart, Bella Ramsey, and Rhys Darby.
Playful and inventive, the film presents a charming premise: a flock of sheep that quietly learns the art of deduction from nightly detective stories. When an unexpected incident disrupts their peaceful farm life, the unlikely group decides it’s time to apply everything they’ve learned.
The Shepherd Who Loves a Good Mystery
At the center of the story is George (Hugh Jackman), a gentle shepherd who has a comforting habit. Each evening, he reads classic detective novels to his flock before bedtime. For George, it’s simply a relaxing routine.
What he doesn’t realize, however, is that the sheep are paying very close attention.
Word by word, clue by clue, they absorb the lessons from every mystery tale he shares. Over time, the flock develops a surprisingly sharp sense of observation and deduction.
When the Sheep Become the Detectives
Life on the farm changes when a mysterious incident suddenly shakes their quiet routine. With their shepherd unaware of their secret intelligence, the sheep quietly step forward to investigate.
Using the knowledge they’ve gathered from countless detective stories, the flock begins examining clues, observing suspicious behavior, and considering possible suspects among the humans around them.
The result is a lighthearted whodunit filled with humor, charm, and plenty of clever moments. After all, even the most underestimated investigators might hold the key to solving the case.

He is joined by Nicholas Braun, Nicholas Galitzine, and Molly Gordon, with Hong Chau and Emma Thompson also lending their talents.
The ensemble further includes Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Bryan Cranston, Chris O’Dowd, Regina Hall, Patrick Stewart, Bella Ramsey, and Rhys Darby, making “The Sheep Detectives” a lively collaboration of acclaimed actors.

What to Expect During Holy Week
Most malls are closed on Maundy Thursday and Good Friday
Some supermarkets, restaurants, and cinemas may operate on limited hours
Regular mall operations usually resume by Black Saturday or Easter Sunday
Schedules may vary per branch, so it is best to check official mall pages for updates
Plan Ahead This Holy Week
Whether you are running errands or planning a family outing, knowing mall schedules can help you avoid inconvenience during the Lenten break. Take note of adjusted hours and make time for reflection as the country observes one of its most solemn seasons.
For many, Lent is a time to reconnect with simpler, soul-warming and mindful dining. Fish & Co. addresses this with fish and seafood dishes that are appropriate for the season.
At the heart of their menu is Fish & Chips with a light and airy batter and deep-friednflaky white fish. They are available in different flavors: New York Fish & Chips (crispy fish fillet topped with mozzarella, grana padano, Fish & Co spices, and sundried tomato for a rich and savory flavor); Philadelphia Fish & Chips (golden crispy fish fillet stuffed with creamy and rich cream cheese for a smooth and indulgent seafood experience); Swiss Fish & Chips (crispy fish fillet topped with mozzarella, dried oregano, kosher salt, black peppermill, and Fish & Co spices for a flavorful and aromatic bite); Sambal Fish & Chips (crispy battered fish fillet coated in bold and spicy sambal sauce for a flavorful kick in every bite) and Nori Fish & Chips (crispy battered fish fillet coated with mixed Japanese sauce and nori sheets, served with your choice of homemade tartar or lemon butter sauce).
Another option is the Filipino-inspired and comforting Salmon Belly in Tamarind Soup (tender salmon belly simmered in tangy tamarind broth with spinach, radish, eggplant, tomato, string beans, okra, and long chili).
Still another Lenten dish is the Seafood Quesadilla (warm tortilla filled with shrimp, fish fillet, pico de gallo, cilantro, garlic, onion, and creamy queso sauce, finished with mayonnaise and butter, served with coleslaw and tartar sauce).
These Lenten highlights are available at all Fish & Co branches.
What does it take to trade a twenty-year corporate career for a canvas? For Filipino artist Aaron Virata Mempin, the transition from brand strategy to geometric abstractionist wasn’t a goodbye to his past, but a masterful evolution of his future.
In the traditional art world, we often imagine the creator as a solitary figure locked away in a studio. But walk into a gallery featuring Virata Mempin, and that myth quickly dissolves. For this abstractionist, art isn’t just a monologue; it is a high-energy conversation. Virata Mempin is building a “Collaborative DNA” that is shaking up the local scene by treating his practice as a platform for shared authorship, he’s proving that in the Manila art world, two (or three) heads are officially better than one.

From Boardroom Strategy to Shared Canvases
Virata Mempin’s transition from marketing to full-time artist was an intentional evolution. He speaks the language of inventory and reach, running his studio like a professional enterprise.
“Marketing taught me that art is not just about the canvas, but also about sustainability and numbers,” he explains. “I treat my private space as my research and development phase, while exhibitions are the launch. I balance them by keeping a strict schedule that honors both the need for solitude and the necessity of public dialogue.”
This strategic foundation is bolstered by his partnership with his wife, Daianne Moreno-Mempin, whose social enterprise Katha Pilipinas fosters creative leadership and sustainable livelihoods.
The “Bridges” Exhibit: Mentorship in Motion
Currently housed in Navita’s Haus, a repurposed 1970s home in Poblacion turned creative hub, the Bridges, an exhibit (running until March 28, 2026) serves as the physical manifestation of Virata Mempin’s philosophy
“Ang Magtataho” A collab work by Nikolai Quiambao, Zaha Cruz, and Filipino geometric abstractionist Aaron Virata Mempin.
Founded by educator Elo Coronel-Quiambao, Navitas Haus provides a “home-like” backdrop where art and community naturally converge. Here, Virata Mempin’s meditative lines meet the raw energy of the next generation: budding artists Zaha Anatalia M. Cruz and Nikolai C. Quiambao.

“Working with Nik was refreshing,” Mempin reflects. “Her take on the Creation of Adam brought a new energy that my geometric lines naturally flowed with. It feels like a perfect bridge between her classic inspiration and my modern abstract style.” He adds that adding his signature lines to Zaha’s colorful sari-sari store felt like bringing a modern touch to a classic Filipino scene.
The Power of “Organized Chaos”
In a creative space that often rewards visual drama, Mempin’s work stands for subtlety. He describes his trademark as “organized chaos,” using geometric lines to invite deeper, personal conversations.

For Virata Mempin, restraint is power. It is the art of knowing when to stop, allowing space for the viewer to breathe. By embracing his non-traditional background, he has found the confidence to treat the canvas as a communal space. “I’ve been surprised by how people sense the calmness they feel,” he notes. “It proves that geometric language is truly universal.”
Why “Shared Authorship” Matters
In a city defined by the constant competition for space, Virata Mempin’s “organized chaos” and minimalist horizons offer a quiet alternative. His work built on a singular realization: art is not a solo journey. By championing shared authorship, Virata Mempin transforms the canvas into a discourse, proving that the Filipino spirit of Bayanihan can thrive in the contemporary art world.
“Collaboration prevents my practice from becoming static,” Mempin explains. From past partnerships with legends like Dominic Rubio and Quiccs, to international projects with Huw Richards Evans, Mempin acts as an ambassador for connection.

2026 Collaboration Roadmap
This year, Mempin’s calendar underscores his commitment to cross-disciplinary alliance:
April: Art x Streetwear – A collaboration with Jeff Cordova of JAAM Customs to merge visual art with bespoke sneaker design at Easter Coffee Club, Antipolo.
May: Art x Craftsmanship – An intersection of fine art and jewelry with Mitzi Parungao (Mitzi Jewels), in partnership with the Rotary Club of Makati.
July: Mentorship – A return of the Bridges exhibit, extending his platform to a new group of young, aspiring artists.
Ongoing: Masters & Institutions – A joint exhibit with Ronna Manansala at Altro Mondo Creative Space, and the Lux in Altum show at Ateneo De Manila University featuring Ricky Francisco and Lala Tuazon.
Art Without Borders
Looking ahead, Mempin envisions his work evolving into large-scale public installations and global stages. Beyond sales, he measures success by his legacy of opening doors. “If my work facilitates meaningful exchanges between people, then I’ve succeeded,” he concludes.
“Pinwheel”, a solo work by Geometric abstractionist Aaron Virata Mempin, inspired by the Pililla Wind Farm and his childhood memories of blowing pinwheels with friends.
Catch the Magic Before it Moves
Ready to see how these “bridges” are built? The clock is ticking on his current show. Don’t miss the chance to see how a corporate-strategist-turned-artist is making the Philippine art scene a lot more inclusive, one line at a time. Visit “Bridges” at Navitas Haus, Poblacion, before March 28.
For audiences increasingly drawn to work that offers quiet space instead of sensory overload, Virata Mempin’s art provides a compelling alternative, one that reminds us that sometimes, the most resonant statements are made quietly… and together.

The web-slinger is back—and the internet can’t get enough.
Sony Pictures’ Spider-Man: Brand New Day has officially set a stunning new milestone after its first trailer racked up an astonishing 718.6 million views worldwide within just 24 hours, according to WaveMetrix. The overwhelming response from fans instantly made it the biggest trailer launch in history.
Even more impressive, the trailer reached 373 million views globally within the first eight hours, already surpassing the previous 24-hour record held by Deadpool & Wolverine, which generated 365 million views during its debut day.
Surpassing Major Entertainment Milestones
The remarkable achievement places Spider-Man: Brand New Day ahead of some of the biggest releases in entertainment.
Prior to this, the Grand Theft Auto VI trailer was considered the largest video debut ever, amassing 475 million views within 24 hours during its 2025 launch. The new Spider-Man trailer has now eclipsed that number by a wide margin.
For comparison, the trailer for Spider-Man: No Way Home—which later went on to earn $1.9 billion worldwide—generated 355.5 million views in its first 24 hours.
Clearly, excitement surrounding Spider-Man’s next chapter is reaching extraordinary levels.
Watch the Trailer here:
A New Era for Peter Parker

Four years after the events of the previous film, Peter now lives in total anonymity. Having erased himself from the memories of everyone he cares about, he navigates life alone in a city that no longer recognizes him.
Fully devoted to protecting New York, Peter embraces his role as Spider-Man full-time. However, the relentless demands of being the city’s lone hero begin to weigh heavily on him. As the pressure intensifies, Peter undergoes a mysterious physical transformation that could endanger his very existence.
At the same time, a strange pattern of crimes begins to emerge—hinting at the arrival of one of the most formidable enemies he has ever faced.

Zootopia 2 is sprinting ahead on Disney+, racking up an impressive 32 million views globally in just seven days. This milestone also reflects the franchise’s lasting appeal. Combined, Zootopia, Zootopia+, and Zootopia 2 have now accumulated more than 885 million streaming hours worldwide, a remarkable achievement that highlights the series’ enduring connection with audiences.
From Box Office Giant to Streaming Sensation
Before racing onto Disney+, Zootopia 2 already left a powerful mark in theaters. The film smashed records to become the highest-grossing animated Motion Picture Association (MPA) release of all time, earning an astonishing $1.9 billion worldwide.
Its theatrical run placed it among cinematic heavyweights, ranking as the eighth highest-grossing film in history and securing the title of the #1 domestic release of 2025. Clearly, the adventures of Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde continue to charm moviegoers across the globe.
A Beloved Franchise That Keeps Growing
The sequel builds on the beloved legacy of the original Zootopia, which enchanted audiences when it premiered in 2016 and later earned the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature in 2017.
Even years after its debut, the first film remains wildly popular. It currently stands as the #7 movie on Disney+ of all timeand has ranked among the most-streamed films across all platforms in the United States for three of the last six years, according to Nielsen.
Clearly, the vibrant world of Zootopia still captures imaginations everywhere.
The World of Zootopia Expands Beyond the Screen
The excitement surrounding Zootopia isn’t limited to streaming or cinemas. In 2023, Shanghai Disney Resort opened the first-ever Zootopia-themed land, inviting guests to explore the lively Mammalian Metropolis in real life.
One standout attraction, Zootopia: Hot Pursuit, has quickly become the highest-rated ride at Shanghai Disneyland. In fact, one in four visitors reports coming to the park specifically to experience the land.
The park continues to evolve alongside the franchise. Using advanced technology, the resort introduced new content inspired by Zootopia 2, including the film’s latest Gazelle song, brought to life through one of Disney’s newest Audio-Animatronics, just weeks after the movie’s theatrical debut.
And yes, the treats are just as popular as the attractions. Guests have purchased more than 4.8 million Disney Zootopia Pawpsicles—that’s an incredible 480 tons of ice cream enjoyed by fans.
Fans Go Wild for Zootopia Merchandise
The enthusiasm extends far beyond the screen and theme parks. Zootopia-inspired merchandise has generated strong fan engagement worldwide, sparking viral demand for collectibles, blind boxes, and brand collaborations.
Major partnerships include popular brands such as Pop Mart, Miniso, Tony Moly, and Uniqlo, each releasing exclusive items inspired by the franchise.
Meanwhile, DisneyStore.com experienced overwhelming demand for one particular item: the iconic Zootopia carrot pen, which sold out not once—but twice, including after a restock.
Watch the Complete Zootopia Collection
Fans eager for more adventures can revisit every moment with Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde by streaming the entire Zootopia Collection on Disney+. From the original film to the series and the record-breaking sequel, the beloved universe continues to deliver heart, humor, and thrilling storytelling.
