A chilling new terror is ready to stalk the big screen.
Robert Eggers, the filmmaker behind Nosferatu and The Witch, returns with Werwulf, a gothic horror film that teases one of his most brutal and unsettling visions yet. Starring Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Lily-Rose Depp, and Willem Dafoe, the film brings audiences into a world where devotion twists into damnation, and the darkest threat may be the monster waiting within.
Watch the trailer for Werewulf here:
The trailer for Werewulf offers a haunting first look at Eggers’ latest nightmare. Gloomy landscapes, ominous whispers, and a growing sense of dread set the stage for a story that feels ancient, savage, and deeply personal. At the center of it all is Taylor-Johnson, whose terrifying transformation hints at a performance rooted in fear, fury, and feral instinct.
Robert Eggers Brings Back Primal Fear
Eggers has built a reputation for horror that feels immersive, textured, and unnervingly real. With The Witch, he explored paranoia and faith in a remote Puritan world. With Nosferatu, he returned to one of cinema’s most iconic nightmares. Now, with Werwulf, he turns to a creature of folklore that has long represented the battle between humanity and the beast inside.
Focus Features presents Werwulf as a harrowing tale of devotion, damnation, and the devil within. Based on the trailer, the film appears to carry the hallmarks of Eggers’ work: rich atmosphere, period detail, psychological tension, and a sense of evil that slowly tightens its grip.
A Terrifying Transformation Led by Aaron Taylor-Johnson
Aaron Taylor-Johnson leads the cast in what looks to be a physically intense and emotionally charged role. His presence in the trailer suggests a character caught between love, fear, and something far more monstrous. As the horror builds, so does the question at the heart of the film: what remains of a man when the beast takes over?
Joining him are Lily-Rose Depp and Willem Dafoe, two performers whose talents fit perfectly into Eggers’ shadowy cinematic world. Depp brings an eerie elegance to the film’s gothic mood, while Dafoe, a frequent presence in daring and atmospheric cinema, adds weight and menace to the story.
Together, the cast helps shape Werwulf into a horror experience that looks both intimate and terrifying.
A Gothic Nightmare Coming Soon to PH Cinemas
With its bleak imagery, unsettling tone, and ferocious central mystery, Werwulf is shaping up to be a must-watch for fans of elevated horror, creature features, and folklore-inspired nightmares. Eggers’ approach suggests more than a simple monster movie. It is a descent into obsession, fear, and the terrifying possibility that evil is not always outside the door. Sometimes, it is already inside.
Werwulf unleashes horror soon in Philippine cinemas.

The Minions are chasing Hollywood dreams, and as expected, things get wildly out of hand.
In Minions & Monsters, the lovable, overall-wearing troublemakers set out to break into the movie business. But in true Minion fashion, their plan does not simply lead to cameras, sets, and stardom. Instead, they accidentally unleash monsters on Earth, placing humanity in danger and turning their big-screen ambitions into a hilarious global crisis.
Now, with chaos spreading fast, the Minions must fix the very mess they created. Helping them, challenging them, and sometimes making things even worse are a new lineup of unforgettable characters, from a tiny creature with terrifying power to a robot-alien overlord with secrets of his own.
Watch the trailer for Minions & Monsters here:
Goomi: A Small Monster with a Big Surprise
For Minions James and Henry, making a movie sounds easy enough. Step one: come up with a story. Step two: make it exciting. Step three: add a real-life monster.
What could possibly go wrong?
Using a spellbook, the pair summons Goomi, a tiny green creature inspired by Cthulhu. At first, Goomi is not exactly what the Minions had in mind. They expected something huge, fearsome, and ready to terrify audiences. Instead, they get a surprisingly adorable little monster whose cute appearance does not quite match his alarming nature.
James with his new friend Goomi in Minions & Monsters
Still, Goomi becomes an important part of their journey. Since he is not the cinematic creature James and Henry imagined, he joins them in searching for the monsters that might finally bring their movie vision to life.
Director Pierre Coffin brought in South Park co-creator Trey Parker to give Goomi his voice, and the challenge was anything but simple.
“Pierre gave me what might be the hardest voice direction possible: make this tiny Cthulhu-like monster sound really cute,” Parker says. “That’s a tall order when you’re working with the guy who created the Minions, because he’s already set the world record for cute. I do a lot of voices on South Park, so the challenge for us was finding something that felt new and specific to Goomi, and didn’t just sound like a tiny Cartman. Pierre had such a clear, funny, sweet idea for who Goomi was, and it was great creating another little monster in the world.”
Dort: The Overlord Dick Has Been Searching For
While some Minions are busy making movie magic, self-appointed leader Dick has other priorities. He is not thrilled by James and Henry’s filmmaking mission. His focus is much more traditional for a Minion: find an evil overlord and follow them proudly.
That search leads him to Dort, a robot-alien overlord voiced by Jesse Eisenberg.
The Minions crowd around Dort in Minions & Monsters
Dort may appear controlled, formal, and mechanical, but Eisenberg wanted to make sure the character did not feel completely emotionless. His goal was to create a voice that sounded artificial while still allowing small hints of vulnerability to slip through.
“The dialogue was already written with this slightly robotic formality,” Eisenberg says. “So, the question became how much humanity should leak through. I liked the idea that he could sound very controlled and artificial, and then suddenly there is a small hesitation in his voice that makes him feel less certain than he wants everyone to believe.”
The result is a character who feels both intimidating and oddly uncertain, making Dort a fun new addition to the Minions’ long history of unusual bosses.
Phillips: A Monster with Unexpected Charm
As the adventure continues, the Minions and Goomi encounter Phillips, one of the monsters who looks much closer to the frightening creature James and Henry originally wanted for their film.
Voiced by Bobby Moynihan, Phillips has the appearance of something that should send everyone running. Yet beneath his terrifying exterior is a strangely cheerful personality that gives the character an unexpected twist.
Howard, Goomi, and Phillips facing a giant blob in Minions & Monsters
“I loved that Phillips looks like he should be pure nightmare fuel, but there is something oddly jolly about him,” Moynihan says. “He has his own unique energy, and I got to improvise a bit, which is always a gift in animation. Sometimes the things you try on the spot end up unlocking the character.”
With that mix of spooky looks and playful energy, Phillips adds a surprising dose of humor to the monster madness.
Howard: Ancient, Strange, and Full of Mystery
Found alongside Phillips is Howard, a creature with a look that combines elements of a starfish and an octopus. He is not introduced lightly. Frozen by humanity and marked with warnings not to release him, Howard immediately brings a sense of danger to the story.
“Humanity stopped them at some point and made it very clear that they should never be released,” director Pierre Coffin says. “That gives Phillips and Howard a sense of danger before we really know what they can do.”
The Minions, along with Goomi, meet Phillips and Howard
Howard is voiced by Phil LaMarr, who had the task of bringing life to a character with very little dialogue. Since Howard does not speak often, every sound needed to feel powerful and meaningful.
“Howard does not say much, so every sound had to carry a lot of weight,” LaMarr says. “I wanted the voice to feel like it came from somewhere deep and strange, as if this creature had been around much longer than anyone really understood.”
That deep, mysterious quality makes Howard one of the film’s most intriguing new monsters.
Monster Mayhem Comes to Philippine Cinemas
Funny, chaotic, and packed with new characters, Minions & Monsters sends the Minions into another outrageous adventure where their biggest problem is, once again, themselves.
From Goomi’s adorable terror to Dort’s robotic uncertainty, Phillips’ jolly weirdness, and Howard’s ancient menace, the film introduces a fresh crew of creatures ready to shake up the Minions’ world.
Can the Minions save humanity from the monsters they accidentally released? Or will their Hollywood dream become the ultimate disaster movie?

The Deadites are back, and this time, terror comes wrapped in grief, family ties, and vows that refuse to stay buried.
Evil Dead Burn, the latest installment in the long-running horror franchise, brings audiences into a secluded family home where mourning quickly turns into mayhem. Fresh, ferocious, and emotionally charged, the film offers a new nightmare for longtime fans while pushing the beloved series into more intimate and unsettling territory.
Watch the Official Trailer:
Rated R-18 with no cuts, Evil Dead Burn opens in Philippine cinemas on July 8.
A Widow’s Grief Becomes a Deadite Nightmare
In Evil Dead Burn, a recently widowed woman stays with her in-laws at their isolated family home to grieve the loss of her husband. What begins as a painful reunion soon spirals into a savage fight for survival when members of the family are possessed one by one and transformed into Deadites.
Trapped in the home, surrounded by people who were supposed to share her sorrow, she discovers that love, death, and evil can form a horrifying bond. Worse, the promises made at the altar may not end at the grave.
By centering the story on a widow and her in-laws, the film turns familiar Evil Dead chaos into something more personal. The fear is not only in the blood, fire, and violence. It is also in the silence of grief, the tension of a broken family, and the terrifying feeling of being trapped with people who are no longer themselves.
Sébastien Vaniček Brings Fire, Fear, and Fresh Energy
French director Sébastien Vaniček, who earned international acclaim for his skin-crawling horror film Vermines, known globally as Infested, steps into the franchise with a bold vision. Together with co-writer Florent Bernard, he takes on one of horror cinema’s most iconic worlds with both reverence and nerve.
For Vaniček, the experience of making Evil Dead Burn was as wild as the film itself.
“It starts with an idea in your apartment in Paris,” he laughs, “and then cut to a crew of 200 in front of three people on fire, in front of a house on fire. It’s pretty crazy, but I’m surrounded by people who are really professional and very good at what they do, so I’m in good hands.”
Oh, and with that kind of scale, the film promises not just scares, but spectacle. Fire, chaos, and practical intensity fuel the director’s take on a franchise known for going all in.
Honoring Evil Dead Without Playing It Safe
While Evil Dead Burn carries the bloody spirit of the franchise, Vaniček was determined not to simply copy what came before. For him, respecting the fans meant understanding the rules, then daring to twist them.
“There’s obviously an immense respect for the franchise and the fans. That’s where it all begins. But I know I wasn’t offered this role to simply do what the audience expects. Respect is also understanding that Evil Dead is not just about blood and chainsaws. There is so much more to explore in this world. And that’s what I was determined to do. Understand the rules and twist them. Try to bring a new vision, a unique vision to this amazing world. I think that’s why Evil Dead is still alive today – because it gives directors freedom to do new things.”
That freedom is what keeps the franchise burning. With every new filmmaker comes a new way to unleash the Deadites, and Vaniček appears ready to deliver a chapter that feels unmistakably Evil Dead while carving out its own wicked identity.
A More Violent, More Emotional Kind of Horror
For co-writer Florent Bernard, the challenge was clear: find a way into the story that did not feel like a repeat. Instead of another group of friends, the film looks at a woman uprooted by loss and forced to face horror alongside the family she married into.
“The biggest challenge was avoiding too much repetition of what had already been done. That’s why we decided not to use a group of friends or people of the same age. But a woman uprooted and stuck with her in-laws—especially after a loss that affects them all—carried real narrative promise. Sébastien didn’t want to make the bloodiest Evil Dead, but definitely the most violent one.”
It is a chilling promise. Rather than chasing gore for gore’s sake, Evil Dead Burn builds its terror from emotional pressure, physical danger, and the painful ties that bind people together even when evil tears them apart.
The Deadites Return to Philippine Cinemas
Brutal, bold, and built to shake audiences, Evil Dead Burn aims to give horror fans a theatrical experience that is scary, funny, emotional, and deeply uncomfortable in all the right ways.
“If audiences walk out of the theatre feeling like they’ve experienced a horror-action film that’s emotional and funny, as well as uncomfortable and exhilarating,” says Bernard, “that’s what we’re aiming for.”
With no cuts and an R-18 rating, Evil Dead Burn is set to unleash its full force on the big screen. Fearless fans can catch the Deadites when the film opens in Philippine cinemas on July 8. Distributed locally by Columbia Pictures PH.

In “Minions & Monsters”, a new tribe of Minions sets off on a wildly funny adventure filled with dreams, friendship, filmmaking, and, yes, monsters. What starts as one Minion’s bold attempt to create the next big movie quickly turns into a mishap of monstrous proportions.
Opening in Philippine cinemas on June 30, the film introduces audiences to a fresh batch of lovable henchmen with big personalities, hilarious quirks, and a whole lot of heart.
Meet James, the Creative Minion With Big Screen Dreams
At the heart of the story is James, a sensitive and imaginative Minion who is not quite like the others.
James with a film camera in Minions & Monsters
Instead of following the usual Minion instinct of finding an evil boss to serve, James dreams of telling stories. Drawn to art, creativity, and self-expression, he eventually discovers the powerful world of film.
Naturally, with a Minion behind the camera, things do not exactly go according to plan. James’ dream of making the next big movie leads to a massive accident, unleashing monsters into the world. Suddenly, his creative journey becomes a high-stakes mission to fix the chaos he helped create.
Henry, the Loyal Best Friend Everyone Needs
Every dreamer needs a cheerleader, and for James, that is Henry.
Kind, supportive, and endlessly encouraging, Henry has been by James’ side from the very beginning. Even when the rest of the tribe does not understand James’ artistic ambitions, Henry continues to believe in him.
Their friendship adds a sweet and uplifting layer to the film, proving that sometimes, one loyal friend is enough to keep a dream alive.
Ed Brings Heart and Teamwork to the Adventure
Completing the trio is Ed, a hearing-impaired Minion who communicates nonverbally.
Together, James, Henry, and Ed have developed their own system of signs, allowing them to connect in a way that is uniquely theirs. As the adventure pulls the trio away from the rest of the tribe, Ed becomes an essential part of the filmmaking team.
With his presence, “Minions & Monsters” brings a meaningful reminder that teamwork comes in many forms, and every voice matters, even without spoken words.
Dick Wants to Keep Things Classic
Then there is Dick, the tribe’s self-appointed leader.
Dick leading the pack in Minions & Monsters
Unlike James, Dick is fully committed to the classic Minion mission: finding a villain to serve. For him, James’ filmmaking dreams are strange, impractical, and completely unnecessary.
With no interest in chasing movie magic, Dick pushes back against James’ outlandish plans. Of course, that only makes the adventure even funnier, messier, and more entertaining.
Pierre Coffin Returns as the Voice Behind the Minions
Directing “Minions & Monsters” is Pierre Coffin, the longtime voice of the Minions since their creation.
Henry with the gang’s new monster pal Goomi in Minions & Monsters
In this new film, Coffin brings to life James, Henry, Ed, and Dick, giving each character a distinct personality while keeping the iconic Minion charm fans know and love.

A quiet rocket mechanic, a brilliant astro-botanist, and three tiny alien fugitives are about to make moviegoers feel a little less alone.
Illumination has revealed the first poster for “Not Alone,” its upcoming original animated film featuring the voices of Timothée Chalamet and Selena Gomez. Set for release in Philippine cinemas in April 2027, the film promises a charming mix of science, comedy, romance, and adorable intergalactic mayhem.
When Joe and Fran are paired for the rocket’s first launch, the mission seems simple enough. Get the rocket ready. Make history. Avoid awkward romantic tension.
Naturally, the universe has other plans.
A plant-powered rocket, alien chaos, and a spark between strangers
Just as Joe and Fran begin working together, three tiny aliens named Dunk, Welly, and Shirm suddenly take shelter in Joe’s home. Cute, chaotic, and very much on the run, the trio is being chased across space by Zandro, a determined but not exactly competent officer of the law.
Their ticket home may be Fran’s revolutionary rocket, which means Joe’s quiet life and the launch team’s historic mission are about to collide in the most unexpected way.
As the aliens stir up trouble, Joe and Fran find themselves navigating more than just technical challenges. With sparks flying and feelings getting tangled, the two must figure out how to work together while everything around them launches into delightful disorder.
A stellar voice cast brings “Not Alone” to life
“Not Alone” marks Chalamet’s first feature-length animated film role, adding another milestone to the four-time Academy Award nominee and Golden Globe and Actor Award winner’s career. Gomez, an Actor Award winner and Emmy and Grammy nominee, joins him as Fran, bringing heart and wit to the film’s inventive heroine.
From the studio behind “Minions” and “Despicable Me”
For nearly 20 years, Illumination has built a beloved universe of animated characters and stories, from “Minions” and “Despicable Me” to “Sing,” “The Secret Life of Pets,” “Migration,” and the record-breaking “Super Mario Bros.”films.
With “Not Alone,” the studio introduces an entirely original story filled with heart, humor, and big-screen wonder.
The film is directed by Eric Guillon, co-director of “Despicable Me 3” and the designer behind the iconic look of “Despicable Me” and “Minions.” He directs alongside Claire Dodgson, editor of “The Lorax,” “Minions,” “Despicable Me 3,” and “Minions: The Rise of Gru,” and Jonathan Del Val, co-director of “Minions: The Rise of Gru” and “The Secret Life of Pets 2.”
Filled with tiny aliens, big feelings, and one impossible rocket launch, “Not Alone” is shaping up to be a fresh animated adventure for families, fans of Illumination, and anyone who loves stories about finding connection in the unlikeliest places.
Catch “Not Alone” in Philippine cinemas in April 2027.
Getting cast in a superhero film is already a dream. For Eve Ridley, landing the role of Ruthye Marie Knoll in “Supergirl” was the kind of moment that felt too big to process right away.
The young Filipino-British actress had gone through several auditions for the role, with long pauses in between. Naturally, the waiting came with uncertainty. Would she hear back? Was the part still possible? Then, finally, the call arrived.
“But then I did get the call with the news and it’s the best feeling ever,” shares the young Filipino-British actress. “It’s a feeling that you can’t describe, you know? You’re so happy and proud of yourself, but then it also takes a while to sink in.”
Once the news began to feel real, Ridley stepped into research mode. She read the comic, learned more about Supergirl, and studied the iconic look and personality of Kara Zor-El.
“That’s when I read the comic and I did lots of research about Supergirl and her iconic look and the difference between Kara and Supergirl. And I loved it and I’m so happy that I got to be part of this amazing film.”
Meet Ruthye, Supergirl’s Fierce New Ally
In “Supergirl,” Ridley plays Ruthye Marie Knoll of the Danastia Clan. Headstrong, focused, and scrappy, Ruthye is driven by one goal: to avenge her family and bring justice to the man who killed them.
Her mission leads her to Kara Zor-El, also known as Supergirl, played by Milly Alcock. Together, the two characters set out on an epic interstellar journey shaped by grief, courage, vengeance, and justice.
Watch the trailer here:
At first glance, Kara and Ruthye seem like an odd match. Ruthye is controlled and composed, while Kara moves through the world with a more relaxed, unpredictable energy. For Ridley, that clash is part of the fun.
“Ruthye’s quite upright and very composed and put together, but then Kara… she’s got that sort of energy where she doesn’t care what she says and she’s using a lot of slang language and it’s all really casual. You can see the difference between them and how it clashes. I think that’s really funny.”
A Big-Sister Bond With Milly Alcock
The connection between Ridley and Alcock was not limited to their characters. Screenwriter Ana Nogueira says the two actors built a warm, supportive dynamic while working on the film.
“Milly was like a big sister to Eve throughout this challenging thing that they both were doing, and I think all of that sisterly love and respect comes through on screen,” says Nogueira.
She also describes Ridley as a standout discovery.
“Eve Ridley is just an unbelievable find, such a gem. She’s self-actualized, she’s just herself, nice and sweet, professional.”
Ridley shares the same admiration for Alcock, calling her a dream to work with.
“Milly is such a dream to work with. I really look up to her,” says Ridley. “She taught me so much, and she’s such an amazing actress.”
For Ridley, Alcock’s take on Kara is both powerful and emotional.
“And I think Kara is such a strong and emotional character and Milly really takes on all of those emotions and really showcases her talent. I loved working with her. She’s a bit like a big sister.”
Before filming started, Gillespie walked the actors through one of the cave scenes during a readthrough. He even sketched Ruthye and Kara, adding arrows to show where they would move in the scene. For Ridley, that simple drawing became a helpful window into the director’s vision.
“I loved how he envisioned that scene to be and the way that he explains things,” says Ridley. “And learning different terms and phrases that he used will really help me for my future as well, because different directors have different methods and ways.”
Before “Supergirl,” Ridley had already appeared on television, with credits including “The Witcher” and “3 Body Problem.” Still, stepping into a major film role brought new lessons, bigger sets, and fresh challenges.
The Villain Who Truly Scared Her
One of the most unforgettable moments for Ridley happened early in production, when she met Matthias Schoenaerts, who plays the villainous Krem.
“I met him on my second day of filming, when we were doing the scene where my family gets murdered,” shares Ridley. “I’d never met him before, and he was in full costume, hair, makeup…”
That first meeting was intense. Ridley had not seen photos of what Krem would look like, so the sight of Schoenaerts in full transformation caught her completely off guard.
“I was too scared to even make eye contact with him. I was physically shaking.”
Although the fear was real, it ended up helping the scene.
“I thought I liked horror films, but this was a different kind of fear, and I think that really helped with the scene because it was the first time I was seeing him and the first time Ruthye was seeing him. So, to channel all those emotions, that really helped a lot.”
Off camera, however, Schoenaerts was far from frightening.
“But under all of the prosthetics and under all of the makeup and the creepy voice, he is such a nice guy and he’s really fun to work with.” she adds.
Jason Momoa’s Rock n’ Roll Lobo
Ridley also has a fun story about working with Jason Momoa, who plays Lobo.
According to Ridley, Momoa brings “a rock n’ roll Super-Villain vibe” to the character. Even with Lobo’s tough and wild presence, Momoa was thoughtful on set, especially during action scenes.
“He’s such a great actor and he’s also really kind as well, because when he had to strangle me, he was always making sure that the blades on his gloves weren’t hurting me,” shares Ridley with a laugh.”
It is the kind of behind-the-scenes detail that shows how much care goes into making a big superhero spectacle feel safe, exciting, and believable.
Why Supergirl Matters
Beyond the action and cosmic adventure, Ridley hopes audiences connect with the heart of “Supergirl.”
“I think that she’s such an inspirational character, and especially younger children who are growing up watching all of these superhero films, they can really look up to Kara and think, wow, I want to be as brave as her when I’m older.”
For Ridley, Kara’s story is a reminder that dreams are not just meant to be imagined. They can also be pursued.
“If she can make her dream come true, so can I. I don’t need to just dream it, but I can make it reality.”
Most of all, she sees Supergirl as a symbol of courage and possibility.
“I feel like Supergirl really is the definition of girl power. Every kid wants to find their superhero. I’m just happy I found mine.”
