‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ Brings Peter Parker and Bruce Banner Together in PH Cinemas July 29

Peter Parker turns to Bruce Banner for answers in “Spider-Man: Brand New Day,” an exciting new Spider-Man adventure starring Tom Holland and Mark Ruffalo. Watch it in Philippine cinemas on July 29.

A New Chapter Begins for Peter Parker

Peter Parker is stepping into unfamiliar territory in Spider-Man: Brand New Day.”

With the world no longer remembering who he is, Peter now fights crime full-time as Spider-Man while carrying the quiet burden of watching his old friends continue their lives without him. It is a lonely and difficult path, one that soon triggers a change he may not be strong enough to handle alone.

For Tom Holland, who returns as Peter Parker and Spider-Man, the film marks a major turning point for the beloved hero.

The actor describes the story as “a fresh start,” with Peter going through something “profound and unique in the super hero genre.”

“a fresh start, where Peter Parker is experiencing something profound and unique in the super hero genre. It’s a movie about when young people find their identity and become adults. Peter is embarking upon a new chapter.”

Peter Parker Faces a Mysterious Transformation

Directed by Destin Daniel CrettonSpider-Man: Brand New Day explores a Peter Parker who is changing from the inside out. His emotional struggle, already heavy enough, begins to connect with a startling physical transformation.

“A huge part of the story is watching Peter undergo an emotional and physical transformation,” says the filmmaker. “The two are linked.”

Trying to understand what is happening to him, Peter looks for help from someone with deep scientific knowledge and a unique connection to the extraordinary.

Enter Dr. Bruce Banner.

Now a distinguished scientist and professor, Banner could be the one person capable of helping Peter make sense of his condition. However, there is one painful catch: like everyone else, Banner has no memory of Peter Parker.

The Science Bros Meet

Peter seeking out Bruce Banner brings together two of the Marvel universe’s brightest minds. As Mark Ruffalo, who returns as Banner, puts it, “Banner and Peter really hit it off as science bros.”

Of course, in true Marvel fashion, things do not stay simple for long.

Their meeting soon leads to an explosive encounter between Spider-Man and Banner’s monstrous alter ego, Savage Hulk. This marks a shift away from the Smart Hulk version seen in “Avengers: Endgame,” bringing back a more primal, towering, and unpredictable Hulk that fans know from the comics and earlier MCU films.

Savage Hulk Returns

For Cretton, bringing Spider-Man and Hulk together was a major creative opportunity.

“To many, the most iconic pairing in the comics is Spider-Man and The Hulk. When we brought back Mark Ruffalo, we gave careful consideration as to what iterations of the character we would see and how to put these two icons together, and what – or who – would cause Bruce to become savage again.”

Ruffalo, who previously made a brief but memorable appearance in Cretton’s “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings,” was excited to reunite with the filmmaker and bring Banner back into the spotlight.

“I think the fans will love the idea of Hulk and Spider-Man finally meeting up in the cinematic universe. Their pairings in the comics are iconic and legendary.”

A Marvel Moment Fans Have Been Waiting For

According to producer Kevin Feige, the long-awaited big-screen pairing of Spider-Man and Hulk was a thrilling idea for the team behind the film.

“It was something that really excited all of us, especially that he’s again played by the great Mark Ruffalo, who’s brought out so many unforgettable facets of the character.”

With Peter Parker searching for answers, Bruce Banner facing a dangerous side of himself once more, and Savage Hulk returning to the screen, Spider-Man: Brand New Day promises an action-packed and emotional Marvel adventure.
