The newly released teaser trailer gives audiences a charming first look at a world where science, romance, and a trio of chaotic aliens collide. Meet Joe, Fran, and Three Unruly Aliens
In his first-ever feature-length animated film, four-time Academy Award nominee and Golden Globe and Actor Award winner Timothée Chalamet voices Joe, an introverted rocket mecha who finds himself at the center of an interplanetary mishap.
Joining him is Actor Award winner, Emmy nominee, and Grammy nominee Selena Gomez as Fran, a brilliant astro-botanist developing the world’s first-ever plant-fueled rocket. When Joe and Fran are brought together to prepare for the rocket’s historic launch, sparks begin to fly. Unfortunately, neither of them is especially skilled when it comes to romance.

Then, life gets even stranger.
Three tiny, unruly, and adorable aliens named Dunk, Welly, and Shirm take refuge in Joe’s home after fleeing across the galaxy. Chased by a zealous but hilariously inept officer of the law named Zandro, the aliens soon realize that Fran’s revolutionary rocket might be their ticket back home.
A Star-Powered Voice Cast
Bringing the alien trio to life are acclaimed British comedic actors Rob Brydon as Dunk, Diane Morgan as Welly, and Jamie Demetriou as Shirm. Two-time Emmy winner Brett Goldstein voices Zandro, the overzealous officer hot on their trail.

The film’s supporting voice cast also features Oscar winner Allison Janney and Emmy winner Lamorne Morris, adding even more talent to Illumination’s newest animated universe.
A Fresh Original Film From the Studio Behind Global Favorites
For almost 20 years, Illumination has introduced audiences to unforgettable characters and stories, including Minions and Despicable Me, the biggest global animated franchise in history, along with Sing, The Secret Life of Pets, Migration, and the record-shattering Super Mario Bros. films.
With “Not Alone,” the studio invites audiences into a brand-new story filled with cosmic chaos, big feelings, and lovable misfits from beyond the stars.

The film is directed by Eric Guillon, co-director of Despicable Me 3 and the acclaimed designer behind Despicable Meand Minions. Guillon’s Illumination career also includes design work on The Secret Life of Pets and Sing films.
He directs alongside Claire Dodgson, editor of The Lorax, Minions, Despicable Me 3, and Minions: The Rise of Gru, and Jonathan Del Val, co-director of Minions: The Rise of Gru and The Secret Life of Pets 2.
