You can stream ‘Liway’ on YouTube without ads starting today, March 18!
Starring Glaiza de Castro, the film is based on true events and tells the story of a political prisoner under the Martial Law regime. Writer-director Kip Oebanda shows us his childhood where he grew up in a prison camp with his mother, Cecilia Flores-Oebanda known as Commander Liway of the New People’s Army. The film also stars Dominic Roco as Commander Toto, and Kenken Nuyad as Dakip.
Liway premiered in Cinemalaya Festival 2018, where it received a special jury commendation and won the audience choice award for full-length feature films. The film also received three Film Academy of the Philippines awards: best screenplay, best editing, and best actress for Glaiza de Castro.
