McDonald’s PH and Coca-Cola’s “Share the Light” to more communities this Christmas

McDonald’s Philippines (Golden Arches Development Corporation) returns with its partnerCoca-Cola Philippines to brighten the holiday season for communities through Share the Light celebrations and 1.5 million pieces of Happy Meal toys to be turned over to different communities nationwide.

‘Share The Light’ is an initiative of McDonald’s Philippines and Coca-Cola Philippines which aims to spread kindness and cheer to partner communities in time for Christmas.

“At McDonald’s, it is important for us to make a positive impact in the lives of Filipinos—whether it is our customers, partners, or families in need–especially during this time of the year. We are very happy to once again partner with Coca-Cola to share feel-good moments with Filipino families through our food,” said Kenneth S. Yang, CEO and President of McDonald’s Philippines

Sharing Kindness, Spreading Cheer

This year, Share the Light brought in fun games, various activity booths, and rice meals offered during the event. Families also took home noche buena packs consisting of a 6-pc McShare Box, 1.5L Coke bottle, and Happy Meal toys. Employees from both McDonald’s and Coca-Cola also volunteered to serve meals and help host the festivities.

“During our celebration in Quezon City, we were able to spread cheer to 100 families. Next year, we hope to extend this celebration to more partner communities. Beyond the holidays, our goal is to share the light we experience not only during this season but every day. Through Ronald McDonald House Charities’ McDonald’s Kindness Kitchen, we are able to serve warm meals to communities in need.” Kenneth S. Yang, CEO and President of McDonald’s Philippines added.

Both Share the Light celebrations were done in communities supported by McDonald’s Philippines’ charity of choice, Ronald McDonald House Charities, through its Bahay Bulilit Learning Center program. Bahay Bulilit stands as one of McDonald’s Philippines’ flagship programs, offering children a safe space to play and learn while their parents work. The goal is to establish nationwide learning centers in areas where they are most needed, and this is achieved through partnerships with the DSWD and local government units. Currently, there are 39 learning centers nationwide through this initiative.

The next Share the Light celebration will be on December 19 in Cebu and will bring joy to at least 300 more families. As part of this year’s initiative, McDonald’s Philippines will also be giving 1.5 million pieces of Happy Meal toys to various communities nationwide.

McDonald’s Philippines Gets The Nation Riding

In celebration of National Bike Month, McDonald’s Philippines challenged over 21 cycling groups nationwide to create routes by connecting McDonald’s stores with Bike & Dine facilities and sharing these online using #TourDeMcDo.

With its integrated bike racks and dining ledges, Bike & Dine allows cyclists to order via Ride-Thru and enjoy their McDonald’s meal conveniently near their bikes. This infrastructure started being rolled out when McDonald’s recognized how its 700 stores across the country are becoming the stopover of choice for cyclists.

Cyclists were encouraged to create their own routes and share these with the public using #TourDeMcDo on social platforms, including apps for the cycling community like Strava or Komoot. Fueling these rides were free cyclists meals, and even special merchandise for those who shared the best photos and rode more kilometers.

“As one of our Green and Good priority initiatives, we are committed to championing sustainable mobility by encouraging our customers to choose bicycles as a mode of transportation, contributing to a healthier lifestyle and helping the environment. Our McDonald’s stores serve as a one-stop place for biking communities–providing rest, refueling, and bike repair services, all while enjoying their McDonald’s favorites,” shared Kenneth S. With McDonald’s Philippines encouraging the use of its bike-friendly features in stores like the Bike & Dine and bike racks, ordering via Ride-Thru, and complimentary facilities such as Bike Repair Stations, more cyclists continue to ride and stopover at McDonald’s.

Christmas and New Year’s Eve Dinner and Christmas Day Lunch and Dinner at the hotel’s buffet restaurant, Café 1228, are priced at PHP3,500++ for adults and PHP1,750++ for kids ages 6 to 12. For the New Year’s Eve Dinner, this comes with one glass of sparkling, red, or white wine or local beer, and free-flowing soft drinks and chilled juices.

For New Year’s Day Lunch and Dinner, the rate is PHP2,750++ for adults and PHP1,375++ for kids. An optional upgrade for unlimited alcoholic beverages consisting of wine and local beer goes for PHP720++ per person.

Christmas & New Year Dining at Jasmine

Jasmine’s famed all-you-can-eat dim sum for Christmas and New Year’s Eve, as well as Christmas and New Year’s Day is a must-try. On December 24, lunch is PHP1,818++ for adults and PHP909++ for kids, while dinner is PHP2,288++ for adults and PHP1,144++ for kids.

On December 25, lunch and dinner rates are the same at PHP2,288++ for adults and PHP1,144++ for kids. The above prices include one round of iced tea, soft drink, or local beer, with options to upgrade to free-flowing drinks at an additional rate.

Jasmine will also be offering festive set menu options for December 24, 25, 31, and January 1 starting at PHP11,788++ for a minimum of four guests. Vegetarian menus will also be available.

Festive Cheer at The Lounge

Get into the festive spirit with crafted cocktails from The Lounge priced at PHP450++. Guests can choose from A Christmas Story (salted caramel vodka, Kanto popcorn vodka, peach puree, yuzu puree, popcorn syrup and egg white), or The Christmas Tree (Makers Mark, fresh lemon juice, and garnished with a homemade pineapple shrub, homemade pink peppercorn syrup and an edible Christmas tree).
