Kiehl’s celebrates the Philippines for Super Brand Day 2022

Known for their finest apothecary skincare, beauty brand Kiehl’s celebrates its love for the Philippines by launching limited-edition packaging specially-made for their Lazada Philippines Super Brand Day 2022.

Lazada Super Brand Day has been Kiehl’s’ most-anticipated sale for the past few years, currently topping as the number one skincare brand on the e-commerce platform for two and a half years running. These kits are toolboxes to empower educators to turn any space into an eco-learning space, promoting environmentalism and advocacy to students, even during the pandemic.

Kiehl’s is once again partnering with Save Philippine Seas by helping fund the Earthducation: Change the Current initiative. The Earthducation initiative aims to teach 150 public school teachers about climate change and how to take action. Through this, a total of 30 teachers will receive P15,000 to implement projects within their community. With the help of key opinion leaders, Kiehl’s is pledging PHP 1,000 for every media publication that publishes an article and every influencer that posts about the initiative.

On May 24, the brand is also hosting a Livestream party counting down to the Kiehl’s Super Brand Day, where every view will be equivalent to PHP 1 donation to the initiative. In this online music festival streaming on LazLive and Facebook Live, local household names Saab Magalona, Jim Bacarro, and Curtismith will be performing.

For this year’s Lazada Super Brand Day, Kiehl’s is highlighting Filipinos’ cult-favorite products by creating limited-edition packaging that is exclusively available in the Philippines. Fabien Frankel as Ser Criston Cole, of Dornish descent, the common-born son of the steward to the Lord of Blackhaven. Cole has no claim to land or titles; all he has to his name is his honor and his preternatural skill with a sword.

Famous Amorsolo Paintings Turn Into LEGO in CCP’s Latest Exhibit

The Cultural Center of the Philippines, in partnership with PinoyLUG, and with support from the Fernando C. Amorsolo Foundation, Inc., presents “Project AMORsolo,” an exhibition of LEGO^® Bricks Mosaic artworks in commemoration of the 50^th Anniversary of the proclamation of Fernando C. Amorsolo as the First National Artist of the Philippines in Visual Arts. The exhibition runs until May 29, 2022 at the CCP’s Bulwagang Carlos V. Francisco (Little Theater Lobby).

The project, which commenced back in 2021, was set into motion under Code Name: AMOR with three teams of LEGO^® enthusiasts each working separately on plates for three iconic paintings for National Artist Fernando C. Amorsolo. Using certified genuine LEGO^® bricks, each team created artworks that bridge the past with the present, while bonding with co-builders to strengthen them as a team, just like LEGO^®.

Project AMORsolo is a story of love and resilience in a family of LEGO^® fans looking towards future generations who would create something new from the pieces of their past. It is a celebration of achievement through dedication, persistence, sharing, and building together which are the guiding principles of PinoyLUG.

PinoyLUG’s Project: AMORsolo exhibit may be viewed from Tuesday to Sunday, 10am to 6pm. Hours are extended until 9pm on nights with performances inside the CCP Main Theater. CCP Cultural Exchange Opens Applications for ‘2022 Kalinga ng Sining’ Grants

The Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) through its Cultural Exchange Department opens the applications for the 2022 KALINGA NG SINING: Art for Healing and Transformation Subsistence Grants.

Kalinga ng Sining or KNS is a program that provides financial assistance to qualified region based arts/culture/educational organizations, local government units, and non-government organizations. The grant is intended to help these organizations implement contingency strategies that will help alleviate the living conditions of their communities. Since it was opened in 2020 up to 2021, the KNS subsistence grant has assisted 37 local organizations from 35 provinces/local communities nationwide.

Through the local projects and initiatives of the proponents, the KNS SGP enables the implementation of contingency strategies that will support displaced local artists and cultural workers. It also seeks to advocate the significance of art and culture to every Filipino, especially during crisis time, in the hope that the public, mainly the government leaders and lawmakers, will regard it as “essential” elements for human existence, survival and progress.

The focus of the projects are in the following areas: documentation & propagation of local history, heritage, art forms, cultural expressions, and traditions utilizing various new technology and media platforms; presentation of new and/or “hybrid” artistic productions and cultural activities; advancing capacities of artists and cultural workers; and advocacy for arts and culture as “essential” elements for human existence, survival and progress.

All the projects and activities with the KNS support will be implemented from July to October 2022 following the present health and safety protocols and conforming with the restrictions of the present quarantine rules prescribed by the national and local government units.

‘Hacks’ Season Two: Emmy®-Winning Max Original Comedy Series Premieres S2 this May 12 only on HBO GO

The Emmy®-winning and critically-acclaimed Max Original comedy series Hacks will debut its second season Thursday, May 12 with two episodes exclusively on HBO GO. The eight-episode season continues with two new episodes a week, concluding June 2.

Hacks Season 2 will see the dark mentorship between legendary Las Vegas comedian Deborah Vance (Jean Smart) and her young, entitled writer Ava (Hannah Einbinder) continue to evolve, as the two travel across the country workshopping Deborah’s new stand-up act.

Jean Smart, an Emmy®, SAG Awards® and Critics Choice Awards winner for her performance in season one of the series, will return along with Hannah Einbinder, Carl Clemons-Hopkins and Jane Adams,who were all nominated for Emmys for the first season. Returning cast members Christopher McDonald, Kaitlin Olson, Paul W. Downs, Poppy Liu, Rose Abdoo, Mark Indelicato, Meg Stalter, Angela E. Gibbs, Luenell, Johnny Sibilly, Joe Mande, Ally Maki and Lorenza Izzo also star. New recurring guest stars Laurie Metcalf, Martha Kelly, Ming-Na Wen and Susie Essman, and guest stars Margaret Cho and Devon Sawa join in the new season.

Hacks is created and showrun by Emmy® winners Paul W. Downs, Lucia Aniello and Jen Statsky. It is executive produced by Downs and Aniello via their Paulilu banner, Statsky via First Thought Productions, as well as Emmy winners Michael Schur via Fremulon, David Miner for 3 Arts Entertainment and Morgan Sackett.
