A historic global win for a Filipino series
ABS-CBN Studios and Prime Video’s limited mystery-thriller series “The Silent Noise” has made a powerful mark on the international streaming scene after winning Best Asian Content at the Global OTT Awards 2026 in South Korea.
Held last June 20, the awards ceremony recognized some of the most outstanding streaming titles from across the world. “The Silent Noise” stood out among strong contenders from Thailand, Japan, China, and Taiwan, earning praise for its gripping suspense, emotional storytelling, and striking use of silence as a narrative force.
Even better, the win marks a major milestone for the country. “The Silent Noise” is the first Philippine title to win at the Global OTT Awards and the first to take home the Best Asian Content prize.
Filipino storytelling takes center stage
Accepting the award on behalf of the series was show director Onat Diaz, who dedicated the achievement to the team behind the show and to the growing reach of Filipino stories worldwide.
“Winning this award will be very meaningful and encouraging for our team in the Philippines because it reaffirms our belief of fearlessly telling our stories with much passion, and create genuine interactions with our audiences that will cut across borders in different territories,” Onat shared in his acceptance speech.
With this recognition, “The Silent Noise” proves that stories rooted in Filipino creativity can move, thrill, and connect with viewers far beyond local shores.
Angelica Panganiban earns global recognition
The celebration did not stop with the series’ big win. Lead star Angelica Panganiban also received a nomination in the Best Lead Actor (Female) category, placing her alongside acclaimed performers from China, Japan, and South Korea.
Her nomination further highlights the strength of the series’ performances and the growing visibility of Filipino talent on the global streaming stage.
A standout mystery-thriller on Prime Video
“The Silent Noise” is a collaboration between ABS-CBN Studios and Prime Video. The 10-episode limited series stars Angelica Panganiban, Zanjoe Marudo, Mylene Dizon, Zaijian Jaranilla, Mutya Orquia, and new child star KD Omalin.
Since its release in March, the series has drawn strong viewership and was named one of the most-watched titles on Prime Video Philippines, further proving its wide appeal among viewers.

The Global OTT Awards celebrates the platforms, creators, and programs shaping today’s streaming landscape across drama, variety, and music. This year’s edition featured 14 competitive categories and five invitational categories, honoring standout content from different territories.
Now carrying the distinction of being an award-winning Filipino series, “The Silent Noise” is available in more than 240 countries and territories through Prime Video, including the Philippines, Australia, Canada, the United Kingdom, New Zealand, and the United States.
