Amid the excitement for the upcoming Percy Jackson TV series on Disney+, Netflix is also set to release a new show for Greek mythology fans out there!
Titled Kaos, Netflix’s new TV series will also feature famous Greek gods living in the modern world. The streaming platform teases Kaos as a “genre-bending” series that will explore themes of gender politics, power, and life in the underworld.
According to Deadline, Hugh Grant will play the seemingly all-powerful but desperately insecure and vengeful Zeus. One morning, Zeus discovers that he has a wrinkle on his forehead. Convinced that his fall is coming, the King of the Gods sets off on a dangerous, paranoid path.
Meanwhile, Hera exercises her own dominion on Earth, which threatens Zeus; Hades is losing grip over the Underworld; Zeus’ son Dionysius is set on a collision course with his father; and Poseidon is more concerned about partying. To make things even more complicated for the King of the Gods, the mortals Riddy, Orpheus, Caneus, and Ari are also cosmically destined to fight him.
Also starring alongside Grant are Janet McTeer, Cliff Curtis, David Thewlis, Killian Scott, Misia Butler, Leila Farzad, Nabhaan Rizwan, Rakie Ayola, and Stanley Townsend. Kaos is helmed by Charlie Covell, known for her TV adaptation of The End of the F***ing World.
More details about the show’s release are yet to be revealed.
