A quiet rocket mechanic, a brilliant astro-botanist, and three tiny alien fugitives are about to make moviegoers feel a little less alone.

Illumination has revealed the first poster for “Not Alone,” its upcoming original animated film featuring the voices of Timothée Chalamet and Selena Gomez. Illumination has revealed the first poster for “Not Alone,” its upcoming original animated film featuring the voices of Timothée Chalamet and Selena Gomez. Set for release in Philippine cinemas in April 2027, the film promises a charming mix of science, comedy, romance, and adorable intergalactic mayhem.

When Joe and Fran are paired for the rocket’s first launch, the mission seems simple enough. Get the rocket ready. Make history. Avoid awkward romantic tension.

Naturally, the universe has other plans.

A plant-powered rocket, alien chaos, and a spark between strangers

Just as Joe and Fran begin working together, three tiny aliens named Dunk, Welly, and Shirm suddenly take shelter in Joe’s home. Cute, chaotic, and very much on the run, the trio is being chased across space by Zandro, a determined but not exactly competent officer of the law.

Their ticket home may be Fran’s revolutionary rocket, which means Joe’s quiet life and the launch team’s historic mission are about to collide in the most unexpected way.

As the aliens stir up trouble, Joe and Fran find themselves navigating more than just technical challenges. With sparks flying and feelings getting tangled, the two must figure out how to work together while everything around them launches into delightful disorder.

A stellar voice cast brings “Not Alone” to life

Not Alone” marks Chalamet’s first feature-length animated film role, adding another milestone to the four-time Academy Award nominee and Golden Globe and Actor Award winner’s career. Gomez, an Actor Award winner and Emmy and Grammy nominee, joins him as Fran, bringing heart and wit to the film’s inventive heroine.

The alien trio is voiced by acclaimed British comedic performers Rob Brydon as Dunk, Diane Morgan as Welly, and Jamie Demetriou as Shirm. Brett Goldstein, a two-time Emmy winner, voices Zandro.

The film’s supporting voice cast also includes Oscar winner Allison Janney and Emmy winner Lamorne Morris.

From the studio behind “Minions” and “Despicable Me”

For nearly 20 years, Illumination has built a beloved universe of animated characters and stories, from “Minions” and “Despicable Me” to “Sing,” “The Secret Life of Pets,” “Migration,” and the record-breaking “Super Mario Bros.”films.

With “Not Alone,” the studio introduces an entirely original story filled with heart, humor, and big-screen wonder.

The film is directed by Eric Guillon, co-director of “Despicable Me 3” and the designer behind the iconic look of “Despicable Me” and “Minions.” He directs alongside Claire Dodgson, editor of “The Lorax,” “Minions,” “Despicable Me 3,” and “Minions: The Rise of Gru,” and Jonathan Del Val, co-director of “Minions: The Rise of Gru” and “The Secret Life of Pets 2.”

Not Alone” is produced by Illumination founder and CEO Chris Meledandri. Joy Poirel, Richard Curtis, and David Distenfeld serve as executive producers.
