Pinoy Big Band Brass Pas Pas Pas Pas Marks 11.11th Anniversary

In this thankfully post-pandemic year, the groovy chaps in the Filipino group Brass Pas Pas Pas Pas are about to celebrate the big, brassy band’s 11th anniversary in a fun funk fashion.

Unfolding on November 11 at 123 Block, Mandala Park in Mandaluyong City, BPPPP’s 11.11 anniversary gig will be a full-on, full-length shindig featuring the band’s extensive repertoire of originals—tunes that are a delightful amalgamation of jazz, swing, blues, soul disco-funk and contemporary grooving. In other words, mirrorball music for the soul!

And as icing on Brass Pas Pas Pas Pas’s 11th anniversary cake, the band will form a 20-piece ensemble big band, and joining in on the funky frolic will be guest singers Unique Salonga, Leanne & Naara, Kat Agarrado, and Ebe Dancel, Jensen Gomez, and Sammy Valenia! Of the band’s decade-plus journey, singer Mike Luis muses that it feels like “we began not that long ago. It takes actual reminiscing of individual anecdotes and experiences when it hits us that, whoa, we have been together this long.” He adds, “We feel like we would keep on being together for more years to come—and we’re very excited for what lies ahead for us, musically and as bandmates!”

City Hunter’s Original Cast Members Back in Action With Surprise Guests in Anime Film “City Hunter the Movie: Angel Dust”

The original cast members of City Hunter reunite for the highly anticipated theatrical release of City Hunter The Movie: Angel Dust. The gang’s back together as Kaori Makimura (Kazue Ikura) joins Ryo Saeba (Akira Kamiya), who will be facing his dark past and taking on new foes enhanced by the mysterious technology, Angel Dust.

Ryo Saeba is a “sweeper” or a private detective taking on a new type of adversary, with roots from his tragic past. Kaori, the sister of his late partner, accompanies him on this adventure.

Also featuring characters voiced by their original actors like the sweeper Miki (Mami Koyama, also lends her voice as Kei from Akira), and Umibozu (Tessho Genda, who has been the Japanese voice for Optimus Prime and Batman), a duo who also owns the Cat’s Eye café while the three Kisugi sisters will also make an appearance in the film. Kenyū Horiuchi plays Shin Kaibara, leader of the drug syndicate Union Teope, who also raised Ryo from orphanhood and trained him to be a warrior.

City Hunter The Movie: Angel Dust introduces a new mysterious character Angie (voiced by Miyuki Sawashiro), a video creator who lost her cat while touring the city. This led her to seek the services of Ryo and Kaori, but unknown to the duo, Angie intentionally sought them for another reason. Ryo excitedly chases Angie upon meeting her while Kaori tries to stop him to be able to focus on finding the missing cat. Meanwhile, Angie tries to stop a group of mercenaries who poses a threat to her life and Ryo.

Action-packed anime “City Hunter The Movie: Angel Dust” opens Nov. 8

The final chapter begins in the long-awaited theatrical release of City Hunter The Movie: Angel Dust with the film’s main protagonist Ryo Saeba, a highly-skilled gunman and most-sought “sweeper” working tirelessly to get rid of crimes in the city of Tokyo.

A non-stop hyper-action anime film, City Hunter The Movie: Angel Dust is based on the latest manga finale where Ryo faces his dark past and stops a new breed of enemies designed to become super soldiers injected with nanomachines known as Angel Dust.

Celebrating the anime series’ 35th anniversary, City Hunter The Movie: Angel Dust is the newest theatrical anime film produced by Aniplex and animated by Sunrise. Ryo Saeba, aka City Hunter, will do anything from being a bodyguard to contract killing but will only take the job if a pretty woman is involved. Together with Kaori Makimura, the younger sister of his late best friend Hideyuki, Ryo fights the evil haunting the shadows of the city.

The film follows Ryo and Kaori taking on a new client named Angie who seemed to have lost her cat while touring the city. Constantly attracted to beautiful women, Kaori strictly watches over Ryo’s advanced moves towards Angie to help him focus on the mission. Meanwhile, Saeko Nogami of the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department, with the help of Umibozu and Miki, investigates an invention of a new technology designed to create soldiers with unparalleled strength and skills. The same dark technology is the latest version of the Angel Dust that caused the death of Ryo’s partner.

Heartwarming Tearjerker Date Movie “The Tunnel to Summer, The Exit of Goodbyes”

Submissions will be accepted until November 29; and by December, there will be a culminating event wherein winners will be chosen among all qualified entries.
