Zach Cregger’s Resident Evil stormed Philippine cinemas with a monstrous PHP 10,427,530 nationwide on its first day, marking the biggest opening day for the Resident Evil franchise in the Philippines.

Adding another win to its opening-day haul, the film also dethroned Insidious: Out of the Further, ending the horror title’s four-week streak as the biggest film in the country.

Critics Are Raving About “Resident Evil”

The new Resident Evil is not only making noise at the box office. Critics are also showering the film with praise.

The movie currently boasts a 97% Certified Fresh score on Rotten Tomatoes, with the critics deeming:
