Spider-Man Swings Into Philippine Box-Office History
“Spider-Man: Brand New Day” has achieved a major box-office milestone after recording the biggest opening weekend ever for Sony Pictures in the Philippines.
According to Columbia Pictures Industries, Inc., the film earned ₱586.9 million during its first five days of release, from July 29 to August 1, across more than 700 screens nationwide.
The impressive result also makes “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” the biggest Spider-Man movie opening in the country. It now ranks as the third-biggest opening weekend in Philippine box-office history, following “Avengers: Endgame” and “Avengers: Infinity War.”

Filipino Fans Turn Opening Weekend Into a Celebration
Excitement for the film was felt across the country as audiences packed cinemas for sold-out screenings throughout the weekend.
Spider-Man cosplayers also appeared at various malls and theaters, bringing added energy to the festivities and delighting moviegoers. Meanwhile, several mall facades were illuminated in Spider-Man’s signature red and blue colors.
The celebration became even more memorable as August 1 marked Spider-Man Day, giving Filipino fans another reason to show their love for the iconic Marvel hero.
