Something Monstrous Has Landed in Metro Manila
There is something strange, silly, and impossible to miss in the Ortigas skyline.
To celebrate the Philippine cinema release of “Minions & Monsters,” the Minions have seemingly brought one of their newest friends to Metro Manila. His name is Howard, and he is not exactly the subtle type.

Now sitting high above SM Megamall, Howard can be seen by people in nearby buildings, commuters passing through EDSA, and movie fans exploring the Ortigas area. Beside him is one unlucky Minion, caught in yet another bit of Minion-style trouble.
Big, bizarre, and wonderfully fun, the installation is set to stay on top of SM Megamall for the entire month of July, giving fans plenty of time to snap a photo before catching the movie in cinemas.
Who Is Howard?
Howard is one of the new characters introduced in “Minions & Monsters.” With a look that resembles a curious mix of starfish and octopus, this unusual creature adds a fresh dose of monster madness to Illumination’s joyful animated universe.
In the film, the Minions discover Howard frozen. However, there is one major problem: warnings from people in the past clearly say that he, along with his friend Phillips, should not be released.

Of course, when the Minions are involved, even the clearest warning signs can lead to hilarious disaster.
Howard is voiced by comedian Bobby Moynihan, known for his run on “Saturday Night Live” and voice work in “Inside Out,” “We Bare Bears,” and “The Secret Life of Pets.”
Catch the Giant Howard Display at SM Megamall
Fans can spot Howard and the Minion installation on top of SM Megamall throughout July. Visible from different points around Ortigas and from passing vehicles along EDSA, the display offers a fun photo moment for families, commuters, and fans of the Minions franchise.

Whether you are heading to the mall, passing through the city, or planning a movie day, Howard’s Manila takeover is one cheerful sight worth looking up for.

Following the worldwide blockbuster success of “Despicable Me 4,” Illumination expands its joyful animated universe with “Minions & Monsters,” a riotous new chapter in the biggest global animated franchise in history.

The film tells the rambunctious, ridiculous, and supposedly true story of how the Minions conquered Hollywood, became movie stars, lost everything, unleashed monsters onto the world, and then came together to save the planet from the chaos they created.
The voice cast features Academy Award® winner Allison Janney, two-time Academy Award® winner Christoph Waltz, Academy Award® winner Jeff Bridges, two-time Academy Award® nominee Jesse Eisenberg, Zoey Deutch, Academy Award® nominee and comedy iconoclast Trey Parker, “Saturday Night Live” alum Bobby Moynihan, and Phil LaMarr.

“Minions & Monsters” is directed by Academy Award® nominee Pierre Coffin, who directed the first three “Despicable Me” films and the first “Minions” film. Coffin has also voiced the Minions since their screen debut in 2010.
The film is written by Brian Lynch and Pierre Coffin. It is produced by Illumination founder and CEO Chris Meledandri and Bill Ryan, with Brian Lynch serving as executive producer.
