Netflix and Shondaland have released the official trailer, key art, and new images for their highly anticipated prequel series, Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story. Watch the trailer for the upcoming series below:
The show is set to focus on Queen Charlotte’s rise to prominence and power, exploring her love story with King George and how they sparked a societal shift that led to the creation of the world of the Ton, which is inherited by the characters in Bridgerton.

Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story is a Shonda Rhimes production, with Tom Verica serving as director and executive producer. The cast includes a mix of familiar faces and fresh talent, with Golda Rosheuvel, Adjoa Andoh, and Ruth Gemmell reprising their roles from Bridgerton. They are joined by India Amarteifio, Michelle Fairley, Corey Mylchreest, and Arsema Thomas. Other members of the cast include Sam Clemmett, Freddie Dennis, Richard Cunningham, Tunji Kasim, Rob Maloney, Cyril Nri, and Hugh Sachs.
The prequel series starts streaming on Netflix this May 4.
