  • Sharing the Love: ₱1.2M Donated to PGH Medical Foundation as Jolly Heart Mate Canola Oil Extends Community Support

Sharing the Love: ₱1.2M Donated to PGH Medical Foundation as Jolly Heart Mate Canola Oil Extends Community Support

Inspired by the compassion of loyal Jolly Heart Mate Canola Oil consumers, the ‘Share-the-Love with Heart Mate’ campaign went beyond a simple commitment and transformed into an extraordinary act of bayanihan — surpassing the initial ₱1 million pledge and raising ₱1,227,450 for the Philippine General Hospital Medical Foundation, Inc. (PGHMFI). The official turnover took place on November 27, 2025, at Robinsons Supermarket Ermita, in partnership with Robinsons Supermarket, marking a significant milestone for the brand, reinforcing its commitment to community wellness and compassionate advocacy.

Share the Love Campaign Donation Turnover

The donation is the culmination of the “Share-the-Love with Heart Mate” campaign, which ran from July 15 to October 15, 2025. For every Jolly Heart Mate Canola Oil product purchased at Robinsons Supermarket during this period, ₱5 was donated to PGHMFI. This simple act allowed Filipino households to transform everyday cooking moments into meaningful contributions that help strengthen PGH’s medical programs and services.

Recognized as the leading canola oil brand in the Philippines, Jolly Heart Mate Canola Oil is beloved and trusted for its superior heart-healthy benefits. It contains zero cholesterol, is rich in omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids, and has the lowest saturated fat versus dietary fats which can lower the risk of heart disease and stroke with every delicious dish cooked at home. Ideal for daily cooking, Jolly Heart Mate remains a trusted staple in Filipino kitchens.

“We want to dedicate and honor the loyal consumers of Jolly Heart Mate Canola Oil today. They have not only shown love, health, and wellness for their families, but have also extended their generosity to their fellow Filipinos,” said Fly Ace Corporation Vice President for Marketing Abigail Ng-Reyes. “This year marks the 25th anniversary of Jolly Heart Mate — 25 years of advocating heart health for every Filipino family. We are very humbled as a company that throughout these 25 years, our consumers have given their trust, love, and support to Heart Mate, allowing us to become the number one canola oil brand in the market today.”

The donation is already making an impact, with funds directly supporting essential medical programs and services for PGH patients, especially those navigating the most challenging moments of their lives.

Chairman President PGHMFI Dr. Telesforo E. Gana Jr

“Maraming, maraming, maraming salamat po for the donation,”  said PGHMFI Chairman and President Dr. Telesforo E. Gana Jr. . “We help indigent patients directly through medical assistance — assisting them with laboratory tests that need to be done outside — and by providing equipment and supplies that are beyond our budget. All of these donations go to the different aspects of our work, whether it’s direct patient assistance or supplying the instruments and equipment that may be needed.”

    PGH Director Dr. Gap Legaspi

Echoing this sentiment, Philippine General Hospital Director Dr. Gap Legaspi expressed his appreciation: “Thank you very much for this. I think this will be a big help in bridging that [critical] period when patients urgently need access to goods or medicines.”

Through this collaboration, Jolly Heart Mate Canola Oil and Robinsons Supermarket demonstrated  how purpose-driven partnerships can uplift communities and bring hope to those in need. The turnover ceremony marked the culmination of a campaign that turned cooking into an act of love — nurturing the health of families at home while improving the lives of others across the country.

Affirming this shared vision, Robinsons Retail Holdings, Inc. President and CEO Stanley Co shared: “We are honored to stand by Fly Ace, our true ‘Heart Mate.’ This shared mission of bringing goodness home and bringing good food home is all about turning everyday shopping into an opportunity to uplift communities. When we unite for a greater cause, we show that a supermarket can be more than a place to shop — it can be a place where hearts come together.”

Jolly Heart Mate Canola Oil remains committed to championing wellness, compassion, and community empowerment, helping Filipinos make a difference both in their kitchens and beyond.

  • One Place, Endless Combos: Inside BGC’s Newest Food Hall

One Place, Endless Combos: Inside BGC’s Newest Food Hall

Sundry Food Hall officially opened its newest branch in Bonifacio Global City with a grand opening celebration on Monday, December 15, inviting diners to experience a more elevated take on casual group dining—one where barkadas and families can share a table while ordering from multiple crowd-favorite brands in one destination.

    IMG 0677

Designed to feel like a cozy place to linger (not just a quick stop), Sundry Food Hall BGC puts the spotlight on what the brand calls its “mix and match” experience: a lineup of well-loved food and dessert concepts gathered under one roof—so groups don’t have to split up (or settle on just one cuisine) to satisfy everyone’s cravings. Guests can enjoy a wide range of offerings, from a boneless rice meal at 24 Chicken and a comforting bowl of beef noodle soup from Wann Mann, to a decadent chocolate cake from Big Al’s or a refreshing Panda Milk Tea from Coco—among many other options. The concept also carries over to delivery, where customers can order across different brands with a single delivery fee—a core convenience feature of Sundry Food Hall.

    IMG 0031

    Expanding into the New Year

Sundry Food Hall began as a cloud kitchen during the pandemic and has since expanded its footprint across Metro Manila. Today, Sundry Food Hall has seven, including the newly opened BGC branch, operational locations—España, Taft, Pasig, Commonwealth, Makati, and Parañaque—as it continues to grow its presence and bring more branches into dine-in.

Located at GSC Corporate Tower, Triangle Drive, BGC, founders and husband-and-wife team Jai Reyes and Josephine Kamiyama shared their excitement for the latest branch to open.

    IMG 0163

“Sundry Food Hall was built around how people actually eat today—especially in groups. With our BGC branch, we wanted to create a place where friends and families can sit together, mix and match their favorite brands, and enjoy the experience without compromise,” explained Reyes.

“From starting as a cloud kitchen to opening more dine-in food halls, our goal has always been to make great food more accessible and enjoyable. The BGC branch reflects how we’re elevating that experience—bringing comfort, convenience, and variety together in one space,” added Kamiyama.

    IMG 0484

At the heart of Sundry’s model is an experience built for modern eating habits: dine-in, take-out, and delivery—in one place. Sundry Food Hall describes itself as “the only food hall in the Philippines optimized for dine-in, take-out and delivery.”

The “mix and match” feature supports that promise, enabling customers to bundle orders from multiple brands—while keeping delivery streamlined. For merchant partners, Sundry Food Hall presents a smarter, more accessible path to expansion. Its plug-and-play concept dramatically lowers operating costs by removing the need for heavy capital investments, with fully equipped units ready for immediate use. This allows restaurants to enter new locations quickly and efficiently with minimal upfront expense. Some merchants even report saving up to 90% in capital costs when opening a new branch within Sundry Food Hall.

    A Little Something For Everyone

The BGC branch’s opening also highlighted a merchant lineup that includes CoCo Fresh Tea & Juice, 24 Chicken, Wann Mann, Bangkok Station, Potato Corner, Big Al’s Cookie Jar, Hearts & Bells, Merry Moo and Louie’s Buko.

    IMG 0283

To celebrate the opening, Sundry Food Hall BGC is running a First 100 Customers offer starting December 16: the first 100 customers who make any purchase will receive a Sundry Food Hall tumbler plus a free CoCo Milktea or Bangkok Station’s Mango Sticky Rice.

    IMG 0220

Moving forward, Sundry Food Hall also shared plans to expand its dine-in footprint further, with intended expansion in Alabang and Sta. Rosa, Laguna, responding to the growing demand for its popular partner brands.

“Sundry Food Hall focuses on creating spaces where people can come together over their favorite food. As we expand, we’re excited to bring that same Sundry experience to more neighborhoods, both in and beyond Metro Manila” shared Kamiyama.

  • Foodpanda’s Festive Ka-Panda Riders are Spreading Holiday Cheer with Special Christmas Gear

Foodpanda’s Festive Ka-Panda Riders are Spreading Holiday Cheer with Special Christmas Gear

Anyone who has spent the past few days inching through Metro Manila traffic may have noticed something a little unusual weaving between cars. No, it’s not a trick of the headlights or a hunger-induced mirage. That really was a foodpanda partner rider with reindeer antlers sticking out of the delivery bag, plus a box wrapped in fairylights that looks like it came straight from Santa’s workshop.

    foodpandas festive partner riders 3

You’ll be seeing more of these festive riders across Metro Manila until the end of the year. It’s a simple touch, but it has a way of landing exactly when people need it.

    foodpandas festive partner riders 1

When you’re stuck in slow, heavy traffic, that soft glow from a pink delivery box is enough to ease the moment and remind you that even the busiest days can still hold tiny pockets of joy. Holiday commuting is its own adventure: packed terminals, unpredictable traffic, and the kind of stop-and-go that makes you rethink your life choices. That’s why seeing something cheerful, even for a few seconds, lands a little deeper. It cuts through the holiday chaos and gives your mind a much-needed break from all the noise.

    foodpandas festive partner riders 2

For those ordering from foodpanda, the delivery won’t just come with food or groceries. It will arrive with a bit of cheer, the kind that feels surprisingly comforting when the season is pulling you in so many directions.

These riders already give so much every day, and seeing them bring this extra effort says a lot about the heart they put into what they do. It’s wholesome, unexpected, and honestly very Filipino—finding ways to lift each other’s mood even when the surroundings are chaotic.

    foodpandas festive partner riders

It also gently reminds you that during the holiday season, someone out there is looking out for you. So when a bright, decorated delivery motorbike appears beside you in traffic, think of it as foodpanda’s way of saying they understand the rush and that this Christmas, they gotchu. A festive Ka-panda rider will be right there, bringing food, comfort, and a bit of holiday joy wherever they go.

  • CELEBRATIONS: 40 Years of Christmas Concert at The Pen

CELEBRATIONS: 40 Years of Christmas Concert at The Pen

Once a year on a late Sunday afternoon in December, something familiar and quietly magical unfolds at The Peninsula Manila. Families arrive dressed in their Sunday best. Children tug at their parents’ hands as they enter The Lobby and look up at the towering tree that has watched Manila grow for decades. Later, after musicians of a 49-piece orchestra have finished tuning their instruments, the light softens, and the city gathers for an afternoon that feels like coming home.

2025 Christmas Concert at The Pen 1

Welcome to the fortieth season of Christmas Concert at The Pen!

For forty years, Christmas Concert at The Pen has been woven into these scenes. It has welcomed generations of Manileños who return not only for the music, but for the feeling it brings. Over the decades, The Peninsula Manila has opened its doors to extraordinary Filipino

talent. Artists who first sang here as promising young performers have returned as some of the country’s most admired voices, a quiet testament to how this tradition has nurtured local talent across the years.

    image

This 40th season brings together the Manila Symphony Orchestra under Jonathan Velasco, mezzo sopranos Cris Villonco and Yanah Laurel, and the fifty-voice Ateneo Chamber Singers. Their program will weave together carols, film and Disney favorites, light opera selections, and beloved holiday pieces, including the “Hallelujah Chorus” from Handel’s Messiah.

    image 1

Kevin Tsang, Managing Director of The Peninsula Manila, reflects on this milestone with warmth. “We are delighted to have this wealth of Filipino talents at this year’s festive season concert. Year after year, these artists bring their heart and brilliance to The Lobby. Our hope is that this afternoon brings the spirit of Christmas into the hearts of our audience and becomes a joyful finale to their year.”

He adds, “The first part of the concert will feature a playful mix of Barry White, movie musicals, light opera, Disney, and a well-loved Filipino pop classic. As tradition dictates, the second part will be filled with the familiar sounds of Christmas. Aside from the “Hallelujah Chorus,” which remains as magnificent today as it did when it was first performed in 1742, we have holiday songs and orchestral pieces that will inspire joy in both first-time listeners and those who return each season.”

What makes the concert endure is the way it brings people together. Guests sing along. Strangers exchange smiles. Children hear their first live orchestra. Families who have been coming for decades whisper to one another that it still feels as uplifting as the very first time.

As The Peninsula Manila approaches its fifth decade, the 40th season of Christmas Concert at The Pen reflects a legacy shaped by and shared with the city itself: a legacy of  Filipino talent, community, and the shared joy of welcoming the season in one of Manila’s most cherished holiday traditions.
