  • A 25-Feet QUICCS Attraction Rises at the Robinsons Galleria

Filipino toy designer, illustrator, and graffiti artist Quiccs has made waves worldwide for his unique creations. His designer toys—inspired by his interests in Japanese robots, graffiti art, and hip-hop—usually sell like hotcakes after their release.

    Picture4

Over the years, the award-winning toy designer has worked with big names locally and abroad—there’s a global sportswear brand, a telecommunications company, and this time around, one of the largest shopping mall chains in the Philippines.

Mallgoers are in for a treat as Quiccs partners with Robinsons Malls for an exciting collaboration. Say hello to R-TEQ63, a larger-than-life Quiccs installation that you’d exclusively find at Robinsons Galleria! You can spot R-TEQ63 at the Level 2 Atrium starting April 30 to May 31, 2022.

The massive, 25-feet inflatable figure takes after the design elements of the toy designer’s signature TEQ63 character. In case you’re wondering, “TEQ” is short for “technique,” while “63” is the Philippines’ country code.

    Robinsons

“We are thrilled that Robinsons Malls becomes the first home of Quiccs’ exciting new creation, the R-TEQ63. We hope that toy collectors, hobbyists, and art aficionados find Robinsons Malls as their favorite destination where they can pursue their passions and discover unique experiences,” says Arlene G. Magtibay, SVP and General Manager of Robinsons Malls.

Aside from the inflatable figure, you can also check out Quiccs’ toy booth from April 30 to May 1. Score a new Quiccs toy figure and get a chance to meet the artist himself during the Meet and Greet session.

As this TEQ63 character is the first of its kind, make sure you snap lots of photos! The best part? You stand a chance to win a random Quiccs toy every week through the R-TEQ63 Selfie Raffle Promo. To join the contest, simply take a selfie with R-TEQ63 at Robinsons Galleria, and follow and tag the official Facebook and Instagram accounts of both Robinsons Galleria and Quiccs. Winners will be announced every Friday. The promo runs from April 30 to May 31.

Keep your eyes peeled on Robinsons Malls’ social media pages, as R-TEQ63 is set to visit other Robinsons Malls such as Robinsons Magnolia and Robinsons Place Manila. For now, make sure to mark your calendars and check out R-TEQ63 at Robinsons Galleria.

  • Robinsons Malls Celebrates Earth Day 2022

Earth Day, an annual event happening every April 22 since 1970, puts the focus on the need for a global and systemic change to foster and promote environmental protection. Robinsons Malls joins this movement through various activities to raise awareness and encourage mallgoers to heed the call to save Mother Earth.

    PR RMALLS EARTH DAY

“Robinsons Malls has always been committed to expanding our sustainability efforts, especially amid climate change and the various environmental challenges we face today. On top of our large-scale efforts as a company, we want to bring earth-friendly initiatives to our malls to help educate and inspire the public to embrace sustainability as well,” shares Arlene Magtibay, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Robinsons Malls.

Here are the many ways that mall-goers can celebrate Earth Day in Robinsons Malls:

    Trash to Cashback Program

Plastic pollution is one of the world’s most pressing environmental issues, especially with the increased production and accumulation of single-use plastic. In partnership with BEST (Basic Environmental Systems and Technologies, Inc), Trash to Cashback Program encourages people to segregate their trash and bring their recyclables to the malls, which is a more convenient way to participate in the initiative instead of having to go to a warehouse or a recycling hub.  From April 22 to 23, mall-goers can exchange their trash for “Environmental Points” (EP), which can be used to redeem products or services from BEST partner merchants.  All they have to do is bring their recyclables to Robinsons Metro East in Pasig City, Robinsons Town Mall Malabon and Robinsons Otis in Manila City. These recyclables are collected and delivered to recycling and upcycling partners through the My Basurero mobile app. Recyclables will be processed and returned to the supply chain as raw materials or products with a new purpose.

    PR RMALLS Recycling NOVA
Robinsons Malls Recycling Market at Robinsons Novaliches encourages its shoppers and tenants to actively participate and contribute in saving our Mother Earth through recycling.

    Recycling Market at Robinsons Novaliches

Another effort to curb the plastic problem is through Robinsons Novaliches’ Recycling Market. The Quezon City mall is enhancing this program, which was first introduced in 2017, to allow mall-goers to exchange recyclable materials for cash. Available every last Friday and Saturday of the month at the mall’s designated area, customers can exchange various kinds of paper (newspaper, white and colored paper, magazines, cartons), plastic (PET bottles, packaging plastics, hard plastics, PVC tubings), metal (scrap iron, packaging cans, aluminum, copper), and glass items (packaging bottles, beer, and liquor bottles) for cash.

Plastic Bank Experience Hub at Robinsons Place Naga

Aside from exchanging trash for cash (or EP points), Robinsons Malls takes things further by educating mall-goers about the importance of recycling and upcycling through the Plastic Bank Experience Hub. The space showcases how plastic waste is transformed into everyday items, such as eco-bricks that can be used to build homes and schools, as raw materials for manufacturing bags and bottles, and as fuel for powering generators. It is also open to accepting recyclable materials. The Plastic Bank Experience Hub is located at the Robinsons Place Naga’s Atrium until April 27.

    Free Eco-Bags

To minimize the use of plastic, participating Robinsons Malls branches are giving away free eco-bags to shoppers from April 22 to 29. Customers can also get free eco-bags when shopping through Robinsons Malls’ personal shopper service, Robbie and Rosie, for a minimum purchase.

Free Loam Soil at Robinsons Place Antipolo

Robinsons Malls is also letting mall-goers hit two birds with one stone, which—in this case—is recycling and planting. From 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. on April 22, people can exchange used plastic bottles (1.5 litre or 5 litres) for free loam soil at the Fun Park at Robinsons Place Antipolo. The Bureau of Plant Industry is also giving away free seeds and seedlings in exchange for recyclable plastics.

Saving the environment is a global effort. Robinsons Malls will continue to do its part in creating awareness, implementing sustainable and high-impact environment programs, and partnering with relevant and like-minded organizations to encourage more people to do their share. Celebrate Earth Day at Robinsons Malls because it is #REarthRPlace.

  • Vote Pilipinas & Robinsons Malls to Bring #BumotoKa Caravans Nationwide

With less than a month to go before the May 9 elections, Vote Pilipinas has partnered with Robinsons Malls to bring the #BumotoKa Caravans to Filipinos in different locations across the country.

Under the program, select Robinsons Mall branches will host the #BumotoKa Caravans to encourage Filipinos to exercise their right to vote. The caravan will kick off on April 19 at Robinsons Starmills Pampanga, to be followed by Robinsons Place Iloilo, Robinsons Place Bacolod and Robinsons Galleria Cebu on April 21 and Robinsons Place Tacloban on April 22.

“Robinsons Malls has been supporting the government and various advocacy groups to promote responsible voting.  Previously, Robinsons Malls actively participated in Comelec’s national voter registration efforts and this partnership with Vote Pilipinas allows us to sustain our commitment to educate and empower our voting population nationwide,” said Arlene Magtibay, Robinsons Malls Senior Vice President and General Manager.

Vote Pilipinas Founder Ces Rondario said, “After getting around 7.9 million people to register to vote, our goal now is to make sure that Filipinos will actually go out and vote during election day. We want to arm our fellow Filipinos with reliable and factual information about this year’s elections, so they can make informed decisions when voting. Thanks to Robinsons Malls, we’re able to hold our #BumotoKa caravans in different parts of the country. Now we can educate more citizens, especially the youth and new voters, on everything they need to know about the upcoming elections, so they can cast their ballots with confidence. With Robinsons Malls’ help, more people across the Philippines will understand the importance of voting and why their vote matters.”

The #BumotoKa Caravans aims to promote voter education and responsible voting in the Philippines. The program helps enlighten residents, especially the youth and new voters on the importance of voting, what positions to vote for, and how to vote in the coming elections.  Vote Pilipinas is joined by the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) to demonstrate how the Vote Counting Machine works, how to properly shade ballots, and how ballots are processed on election day.  For the latest information on Vote Pilipinas and the #BumotoKa campaign, visit www.votepilipinas.com!

    Sustainability Beyond The Hour

Robinsons Malls’ commitment to saving the planet goes beyond its yearly support of Earth Hour. It has been a pioneer in sustainable mall development and operations, as evidenced by its solar energy and water recycling programs that have been operational in several malls for many years.

Robinsons Malls has been working on initiatives to reduce its carbon footprint and increase the use of renewable energy. These include the installation of solar panels in over 20 Robinsons Malls nationwide, the availability of water conservation and recycling facilities, the incorporation of energy-saving features in the design of the malls, and various solid waste management programs.

    Sustainability For All

On top of its large-scale sustainability initiatives, Robinsons Malls also continuously ensures that greener choices are accessible to the public. As such, all the malls are made bike-friendly and are equipped with facilities dedicated to cycling enthusiasts. Recycling fairs and eco-markets such as Locally Sourced are on a regular rotation to help make recycling a habit and to give its customers better access to fresh, locally sourced produce, respectively.
