The upcoming Spartan Philippines: North ASEAN Series 2024 finds its home at Montclair Destination Estate in Porac, Pampanga. This sprawling development, clocking in as Robinsons Land Corporation’s largest at 233 hectares, prioritizes environmental sustainability. Montclair integrates green spaces throughout its urban planning, fostering a cooler, more biodiverse, and ultimately more resilient community.
It’s the perfect terrain for the much-awaited Spartan Philippines event, which happens from May 11 to 12 at the prime location. It’s not just any other Spartan race, too. The North ASEAN Series is making stops in Vietnam and Thailand, with the starting leg in Pampanga, where athletes and fitness enthusiasts from across the region can secure a spot in the broader Asia Pacific Championship circuit.
Spartan Philippines: North ASEAN Series 2024 features three challenging categories: the Sprint 5K, the Super 10K, and the Spartan Trail 10K. Each category is designed to push competitors to their limits while offering a unique blend of physical challenges and scenic beauty across the terrain in Porac.
The Sprint, known for its 20 obstacles over a 5K distance, is perfect for those new to the Spartan experience or looking to improve their obstacle course racing skills. The relatively easy trail features the classics: wall climbs, overhead wires, monkey bars, and more. It combines speed with obstacle management, making it a thrilling competition for both beginning racers and returning Spartans.
For those seeking a more demanding challenge, the Super 10K presents 25 obstacles over a 10-kilometer course. This race combines trail running with rigorous obstacle navigation, creating a demanding environment that tests even seasoned athletes. The Super’s obstacles are known for their increased difficulty, requiring not just physical strength and endurance but also strategic pacing and mental toughness. This category is specific to the North ASEAN Series Leg 1 (Montclair).
The Spartan Trail, a 10K race without the traditional Spartan obstacles, focuses purely on trail running. This race attracts both experienced trail runners and those looking to start their journey in trail running. It promises an engaging route through Montclair’s varied landscapes, characterized by its flat but challenging terrain due to the dry, sandy conditions typical of Pampanga.
Montclair Destination Estate is just a five-minute drive from Clark Freeport Zone, offering convenient access for participants already in the area. For those traveling from afar, they can simply take the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) which will take less than an hour and a half to reach the event site from the Balintawak interchange. Keep an eye out for the Montclair Interchange on your way and exit there to reach the event area at Montclair Destination Estate.
Like every Spartan Race, Spartan Philippines: North ASEAN Series 2024 in Montclair is expected to bring in runners from different backgrounds. The event is strategically planned to ensure smooth access and a great experience for all attendees.
Competitors are reminded to prepare for the high temperatures and intense sunlight that are characteristic of Pampanga during May. Proper hydration, sunscreen, and training for heat acclimatization are crucial for maintaining performance and safety during the races.
Bridgetowne offers lights, music and food—in a wide open space.
Filipinos love the yearend holidays and in fact, much has already been said about how we anticipate its arrival as early as September. But now that the holiday season is actually upon us, some of us might be overwhelmed by the sheer number of activities leading up to Christmas and the New Year festivities.
This year, why not take the opportunity to explore an open, tree-lined space where you can run around with friends, walk your furbabies, and then have a bite to eat? At Bridgetowne, Robinsons Land’s premier destination estate, you can do all that and enjoy the cool holiday breeze at the same time.
Earlier this month, Mercato Central, the country’s largest small food business market, opened an outpost at Bridgetowne located near the property’s football pitch. With almost two dozen stalls to choose from, visitors will be spoiled for choice. This Christmas season, the stalls are open for business Tuesday to Sunday, 4:00pm – 12:00 midnight while in January it operates from Thursday to Sunday, 4:00pm – 12 midnight until March 2024. Buskers provide entertainment, nightly.
If you’re feeling parched after all those steps you put in, there are fresh fruit juices and shakes at Heaven Shake, Nutrifresh and Face Buko, lemonade at Juice Factory, and a selection of brews at Kraft Coffee. Snackers can choose from Hungarian, John Crispy, Lyn’s Bibingka, El Angelicious Empanada, JD’s Takoyaki or shawarma at It’s A Wrap. Need something more substantial? Load up on Korean food at Uncle Kims or Kchase Korean Street Food, grilled faves at Cheng’s Grill or Guagua’s Best, and savories that will hit the spot at Bagnet Rice Patong, 921 Smoking Hot, Mongolian, Cocina Berenguer or Chicago.
Once dusk falls, Bridgetowne lights up and the effect is simply magical. Those who enjoy posting on social media won’t run out of picture-perfect backdrops starting with “The Victor,” a 60-meter high art installation of a human figure with one arm raised in victory. Located on the eastern portion of the 32-hectare estate, the structure by Fil-Am artist Jefrё Manuel-Figueras pays homage to the resilience and determination found in every Filipino.
This holiday season, The Victor will be festively illuminated. Then there’s the stunning four-lane bridge that connects two urban centers Quezon City to Pasig City, lined with colored lights. Designed by the late National Artist Francisco “Bobby” Mañosa, the curvy 110 meter-long bridge was inspired by the ribbon depicted in the Bridgetowne logo. There are dedicated lanes for pedestrians and bikers who can enjoy the breeze as well as the view as they traverse the length of the bridge over the Marikina River.
A second art installation, breathtaking in its attention to detail, was recently unveiled and is well worth a visit—and several posts on one’s socials.
“Lambat” depicts a fishing couple at the precise moment when they cast their net. Created by multi-talented artists Jude Tiotuico, Miguel Aguas and Vito Selma, the sculpture is a tribute to the Filipino working class but also serves as a protective shade where people can converge and where children can play.
“Visitors to Bridgetowne can use the football field and obstacle park for sports and recreation, gather at the motorcycle community hub (Mototowne), and take advantage of the open spaces for family activities,” said Loise Albert Montes, AVP Business Development for RLC Destination Estates. Mr. Montes is particularly proud of how the estate has been illuminated for the holidays, and suggests that a weekend visit might be best for families and groups of friends. “There’s more flexibility to engage in recreational activities such as using the football field, obstacle park, and participating in community events without time constraints,” he said adding that the night food market that offers a diverse range of culinary delights would be at its liveliest after dusk.
Brigetowne will also holding its very first NY Countdown on December 31, featuring the country’s top bands-Sandwich Motherbasss with DJ Loonyo, MC Pao Avila, DJ Jet Boado DJ Alondra. Hosted by Kaladkarin and Princess Legaspi, the event will start at 9:00 pm. Entrance is free. After all, what is Christmas but a chance to gather with family and friends over a shared meal, lights and music—this time provided by buskers who will perform Christmas carols.
Bridgetowne, Robinsons Land’s premier destination estate, embraces the power of public art to shape the cityscape and embarks on a visionary journey. The emerging estate will soon unveil its masterpiece, “The Victor,” the first of many planned public art installations, serving as a catalyst for the transformation of Bridgetowne into a thriving art hub, adding to the city’s allure and creating a welcoming public space for residents and visitors alike.
THE VICTOR: AN ICON THAT INSPIRES
“The Victor” is a breathtaking art installation that defies expectations and captures the indomitable spirit of the Filipino people. Rising proudly on the eastern portion of the sprawling 32-hectare Bridgetowne Destination Estate, this awe-inspiring structure pays homage to the resilience and unwavering determination that resides within every Filipino.

In collaboration with renowned Fil-Am artist Jefrё Manuel-Figueras, Bridgetowne created a towering masterpiece that is one of the world’s tallest art installation with lighting projection. Weighing a hefty 330 tons (660,000 lbs) and standing at a staggering height of 60 meters or 20 storeys (55 meters for the statue itself and an additional 5 meters for the podium it rests upon), “The Victor” commands attention. In fact, it surpasses the height of the iconic Statue of Liberty, which measures only 46 meters from heel to torch. With its intricate design and perforated stainless steel construction, this monumental artwork will undoubtedly become a must-see attraction for both foreign tourists and locals alike.
“It’s destined to be the star of countless social media posts, an icon that captures the beating heart of the city, very much like the Eiffel Tower and the Arc de Triomphe of Paris, Big Ben with London, and the Colosseum with Rome,” says Mybelle V. Aragon-GoBio, RLC’s senior vice president and general manager for Robinsons Destination Estates.
The Victor gracing the Pasig skyline at night
Inspired by the remarkable success story of Mr. John Gokongwei, Jr., “The Victor” embodies the spirit of triumph and serves as a beacon of inspiration. From humble beginnings, Mr. Gokongwei, Jr. emerged as an iconic and transformative figure in the industry, overcoming adversities, achieving unparalleled success, making an enduring impact on his country. The masterpiece serves as a testament to his journey of resilience, bridging connections, and igniting the unwavering Filipino winning spirit. It stands to honor his legacy, inspiring all who encounter it to carve their own paths to greatness and make a meaningful difference in the world.
“The Victor” embodies the essence of Filipino artistry, creativity, and innovation, seamlessly blending art, architecture, and engineering into a harmonious fusion. Its all-conquering pose, with a raised fist thrust in the air, is meant to inspire visitors. It pays tribute to Global Filipinos who have achieved greatness and influence both within and beyond their homeland. These individuals, whether they are legends, emerging talents, or everyday heroes, embody the fearless pursuit of challenging the status quo, trailblazing new paths, and ignited the Filipino winning spirit.
THE POWER OF PUBLIC ART
Bridgetowne, once the old site of a production plant and textile manufacturing hub, was transformed from an industrial space into a livable and emerging hub of community, creativity and commerce. Recognizing that art has the extraordinary ability to breathe new life into cities, revitalizing public spaces and fostering a sense of community, Robinsons Land invested in the integration of unique public art installations in its open spaces and opened doors to collaborate with Filipino artists.

“We work with local artists to manifest our vision of an urban landscape that empowers individuals to live, work, play, and find inspiration. Art breathes life into cities, infusing them with culture, soul, and emotion. Just as with ‘The Victor,’ our aim is to inspire and unite people, spark their imagination, and leave a lasting impression on those who see and experience it,” said Aragon-GoBio.

According to Aragon-GoBio, this also makes their role as a real estate developer more fulfilling. While real estate development traditionally focuses on constructing buildings and infrastructure, integrating public art into developments adds an extra dimension of social and cultural enrichment in the spaces they create, spaces that resonate with people on a deeper level, making their work more meaningful.
THE BRIDGE: WHERE ARTISTRY MEETS CONNECTIVITY
Visiting Bridgetowne to see “The Victor” offers the opportunity to appreciate another work of art that gives the destination estate its name. Designed by the late National Artist Francisco “Bobby” Mañosa, a visually stunning bridge spans 110 meters, connects the 9-hectare Quezon City side (Bridgetowne West) of the development with the 23-hectare Pasig City side (Bridgetowne East). With the passing of his father, Architect Gelo Mañosa, representing the family’s architectural firm Mañosa & Co., completed the project.
Inspired by the ribbon depicted in the Bridgetowne logo, the bridge serves as a powerful symbol of triumph at the finish line, embodying the spirit of achievement. Its design draws inspiration from the elegant curvature of the ribbon, capturing the essence of reaching milestones and accomplishing goals. The bridge stands as a visual representation of the determination and success that Bridgetowne fosters.
Passing over the Marikina River, the bridge has an expansive width of 25 meters, featuring four lanes dedicated to vehicles with dedicated lanes for pedestrians and bikers. Serving as a vital component of Bridgetowne’s infrastructure, the bridge seamlessly connects both vehicles and pedestrians significantly reducing travel time from one point of Metro Manila to another.
