Vans, the original action sports brand and advocate for creative expression, announced a new collaboration with skateboard brand Hockey for a collection that features a unique combination of grit, attention to detail, and a raw, no-frills approach.
Since first working together in 2018, Vans Skateboarding and Hockey have established a singular aesthetic of their own across their range of collaborative footwear, and now they’re continuing that relationship with a trio of releases: fresh iterations of the Skate Old Skool and Skate Authentic Hi.
With this collaboration, Hockey brings a necessary rebellious edge to modern skateboard culture. This attitude and ethos are reflected in everything from the brand’s bold, high-saturation designs to its heavy hitting skate clips, and, of course, its sneaker collaborations.
The Skate Old Skool boasts a black and gum color scheme with slithering snake skin embellishments and bold red block letter Hockey hits.
The Skate Authentic Hi returns in a brown canvas colorway. An Authentic lengthened into a unique high-top, Andrew Allen’s familiar sneaker boasts a Hockey hit on its collar and comes in a custom box (like the others) that nods to his beloved dog Ronnie, as well as a new snakeskin-printed liner.
It’s not just aesthetics here either — that wouldn’t be the Hockey way. To meet the no-holds-barred skate style of the Hockey team, the styles are packed full of Vans Skateboarding’s very best tech. PopCush™ insoles provide enhanced comfort and energy return with a tireless foam compound that maintains its shape session after session, while Duracap reinforcements hold up to the wear and tear of even the most labor-intensive flip tricks and SickStick™ rubber outsoles provide all-conditions grip and stability.
