Bar Boys: A New Musical is Back This October

EVERYTHING BEGINS TODAY as BAR BOYS: A NEW MUSICAL, the law school musical that surprised everyone, returns this October 2024.

In response to the clamor of audiences, Barefoot Theatre Collaborative brings back Bar Boys: A New Musical for a very limited FIVE-WEEK RUN.

During the curtain call of Mula sa Buwan earlier, the much awaited rerun of Bar Boys was announced by Benedix Ramos (Erik), Alex Diaz (Chris), Jerom Canlas (Torran), Omar Uddin (Josh), and Sheila Francisco (Justice Hernandez). The five cast members are set to reprise their roles while further casting has yet to be announced.

The musical will run this October 4 to November 3, 2024 at the Power Mac Center Spotlight Blackbox Theater, Circuit Makati.

A musical stage adaptation of the well-loved 2017 Pista ng Pelikulang Pilipino film by Kip F. Oebanda, Bar Boys: A New Musical follows the life of four friends and their journey to become defenders of justice in the Philippines.

Book and lyrics are by Pat Valera, who will return to direct alongside Mikko Angeles. Myke Salomon, who composed the adaptation’s original songs, also serves as the musical director. Jomelle Era will also return for movement direction.

The Action Sequences in “Transformers One” Are Insane, Says Chris Hemsworth

When Chris Hemsworth signed on as part of the star-studded voice cast for “Transformers One,” he thought he’d just be sitting in a chair, reading lines.

“The action sequences in this film are insane,” says the actor in a new featurette. “It actually takes a lot more physicality than I first assumed. I thought I’d just be sitting in a chair, reading lines. But I was jumping around and having to throw punches and make noise. There’s a lot of excitement and a lot of fun.”

In Transformers One, the first-ever fully CG-animated Transformers movie, Hemsworth voices Orion Pax/Optimus Prime. Transformers One is the untold origin story of Optimus Prime and Megatron, better known as sworn enemies, but once were friends bonded like brothers who changed the fate of Cybertron forever. Hemsworth is joined by Brian Tyree Henry (D-16/Megatron), Scarlett Johansson (Elita-1), Keegan-Michael Key (B-127), Steve Buscemi (Starscream), Laurence Fishburne (Alpha Trion) and Jon Hamm (Sentinel Prime).

“Feels fantastic to be officially part of the Transformers franchise,” says Hemsworth in another featurette. “What intrigued me was the origin story. Two best friends that become enemies, and then the birth of a hero.”

Prime Video Unveils Asia Pacific Premiere of The Lord of The Rings: The Rings of Power Season 2 in Singapore

Ahead of the global premiere of the highly anticipated second season of The Lord of The Rings: The Rings of Power on Prime Video, the cast and creators of the series visited Singapore for a special Asia Pacific screening. The star-studded premiere was graced by showrunner J.D. Payne, director Charlotte Brändström, and the talented ensemble cast, including Charlie Vickers, Cynthia Addai-Robinson, Megan Richards, Markella Kavenagh, Charles Edwards, Ismael Cruz Córdova, Tyroe Muhafidin, and Trystan Gravelle.
