Old sins cast long shadows — and in I Know What You Did Last Summer, a fresh ensemble of rising stars step into the blood-soaked shoes of their predecessors. Set to haunt Philippine cinemas beginning July 30, this continuation of the 1997 cult classic takes audiences back to Southport with a whole new group of teens hiding a deadly secret.
“Lightning in a Bottle” Chemistry
Director Jennifer Kaytin Robinson (Do Revenge) helms the thrilling reboot, gushing about the cast’s undeniable on-screen spark. “The cast chemistry really leaps off the screen,” she continues. “It was like lightning in a bottle. Meet the New Victims — and Possibly, Survivors
Jonah Hauer-King as Milo Griffin Known for The Little Mermaid and Doctor Who, Jonah Hauer-King plays the grounded and guilt-ridden Milo. “There’s all the fear factor, mystery, blood, and slasher stuff, which is brilliant,” he says. “We introduce some great new characters to root for, and Jenn and the other writers have brought a contemporary, fresh humor to it. There’s a wink, which is fun because the horror and comedy are intertwined and play off each other nicely,” he says.
Chase Sui Wonders as Ava Brucks Perceptive and passionate, Ava — played by Bodies Bodies Bodies star Chase Sui Wonders — resists the initial silence after the group’s fatal accident. “What happens at Reaper’s Curve tests Ava, and the group, in ways that you can’t really come back from,” explains Wonders. “It’s a new reality that everyone has to contend with.”
Danica Cline as Danica Richards The fiercely loyal best friend to Ava, Danica tries to protect her bond even as their world unravels. “Danica and Ava are two peas in a pod,” Cline points out. “They’ve been best friends forever, and it’s one of those friendships that will remain strong – no matter what they go through.”
Tyriq Withers as Teddy Spencer With a smile that hides deep trauma, Teddy is the town’s golden boy with a complicated past. “Teddy has a vulnerable side because despite his parents’ resources, there was a lack of real support, and Teddy experienced some real trauma,” says Tyriq Withers. “Still, he is always the light of the group. I’d say he’s even the glue, the comedic factor that tries to alleviate painful situations. Teddy just wants to be around good energy all the time, because he missed out on that in the family home.”
Sarah Pidgeon as Stevie Stevie is the realist, grounded and haunted. Now working at a bar run by Southport survivor Ray (Freddie Prinze Jr.), she represents the emotional weight of past tragedies. “I’ve certainly been there as Stevie,” says Sarah Pidgeon. “You find a corner to hide in, but I think Stevie is the realist of the group. She’s a foil to Danica, who has been able to skirt around a lot of consequences in her life. Stevie has not been able to do that. Every time her life has gone off the rails, she’s suffered for it.”
It’s Not Just Summer — It’s Survival
With secrets surfacing and a mysterious killer stalking the group, the idyllic coastal town turns into a nightmare once more. As past decisions catch up to the new generation, audiences can expect a fresh but faithful reimagining of the original horror story.
Don’t miss the suspense, the scares, and the slashing suspense of I Know What You Did Last Summer, slashing into cinemas nationwide on July 30.

Based on Victor Hugo’s novel, it follows Jean Valjean’s quest for redemption against the backdrop of a turbulent France, chased by the unyielding Inspector Javert. Its themes of justice and hope resonate deeply, and Herbert Kretzmer’s lyrics paired with Schönberg’s music make every song a classic. Brace yourself, horror fans—because the animatronic nightmare isn’t over. Universal Pictures and Blumhouse invite you to relive the fear as Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 creeps into Philippine cinemas on December 3. This time, Freddy brought backup—and they’re waiting just for you.
Check out the official trailer here:
Returning Cast, Familiar Chills, and Brand-New Nightmares
Following the smash success of the first film, Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 brings back Josh Hutcherson as Mike, the haunted ex-security guard, and Piper Rubio as his younger sister, Abby. Elizabeth Lail also returns as Vanessa, the town’s police officer with a hidden past. Horror legend Matthew Lillard reprises his eerie role as William Afton—the man behind the mask.
But this sequel doesn’t stop there. A new generation of victims (and possibly villains) joins the cast, including Freddy Carter (Shadow and Bone), Wayne Knight (Jurassic Park), Mckenna Grace (Annabelle Comes Home), and Skeet Ulrich (Scream). Each new character adds mystery—and mayhem—to the already chilling lore.
From Urban Legend to Blood-Curdling Reality
A year has passed since the ghostly chaos at Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza. Now, the tragedy has faded into local myth, culminating in the town’s inaugural Fazfest—a seemingly harmless celebration that’s about to turn deadly.
Abby, now 11, believes her animatronic friends still care. When she sneaks away to reunite with Freddy, Chica, Foxy, and Bonnie, she unintentionally awakens long-buried horrors. What follows is a sinister spiral of secrets, supernatural suspense, and revelations that redefine everything we thought we knew about Freddy’s.
Bigger, Bolder, and Bloodier: What to Expect
Directed by returning visionary Emma Tammi, and written by Five Nights at Freddy’s creator Scott Cawthon, this sequel promises to up the ante with:
More terrifying animatronics
Deeper dives into Freddy’s twisted origin story

A star-studded ensemble grounded in fear
Produced by horror powerhouse Jason Blum, alongside Cawthon himself, Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 is ready to become the next box-office juggernaut.

Absurdist Comedy Reloaded: “The Naked Gun” Unleashes First Look Featurette
Comedy is back — and it’s wearing a badge.
Get ready to laugh until your sides hurt because The Naked Gun is back with a riotous reboot, and Liam Neeson is stepping into the crime-fighting shoes of Lt. Frank Drebin Jr.! Paramount Pictures just dropped a hilarious first look featurette that previews the high-octane, slapstick mayhem headed to theaters this August.
Watch “The Naked Gun – First Look Featurette”:
Liam Neeson as You’ve Never Seen Him Before
Yes, you read that right — Liam Neeson (Taken, Schindler’s List) is swapping serious drama for over-the-top absurdity. As the son of the iconic Frank Drebin (originally played by Leslie Nielsen), Neeson brings his signature intensity to a role that demands perfectly timed pratfalls and deadpan delivery.
“People are kind of always ready to laugh,” says producer Seth MacFarlane (Ted, Family Guy) in a new featurette for this year’s The Naked Gun. “Growing up, I loved The Naked Gun [starring Leslie Nielsen]. This kind of broad, absurdist comedy would transcend all age groups.”
A Powerhouse Comedy Dream Team
The Naked Gun is directed by Akiva Schaffer, whose comedy credentials include Saturday Night Live and the cult favorite Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping. Behind the scenes is comedic powerhouse Seth MacFarlane, known for pushing the envelope and nailing the punchline.
Alongside the featurette, fans are also treated to brand-new posters teasing the film’s zany energy. Expect outrageous poses, ridiculous props, and Neeson’s signature serious-face-in-a-silly-world expression.
The Verdict: Chaos, Crime-Fighting, and Comedy
Whether you’re a longtime fan of the original trilogy or a newcomer curious about why everyone’s quoting it, this reboot promises wall-to-wall laughs, car chases that defy logic, and plenty of quotable one-liners. Mark your calendars: The Naked Gun hits Philippine cinemas August 13.

Looking for “The One”? So Is Lucy — And She’s Caught in a Love Triangle Worth Watching
Love, money, and a few complicated feelings—Materialists is here to steal hearts and stir up emotions. Hitting Philippine cinemas this August 6, this new romance from Past Lives director Celine Song is set to make you feel all the feels. And yes, it includes Pedro Pascal as a charming, fabulously wealthy bachelor.
The Plot: Matchmaker Meets Her Match(es)
Lucy (played by Dakota Johnson) is a successful matchmaker, turning lonely hearts into lovebirds and leaving a trail of happily-ever-afters in her wake. But when it comes to her own love life? Things aren’t so picture-perfect.
Enter Harry (Pedro Pascal), the ideal man—he’s handsome, successful, kind, and, well, incredibly rich. He seems to be everything Lucy’s ever wanted. But her romantic roadmap gets rerouted when she bumps into her ex, John (Chris Evans), a guy with a complicated past and an empty wallet—but one who once held her heart.
Watch the Official Clip
Why Materialists Belongs on Your Must-Watch List
1. Pedro Pascal Plays a Billionaire with a Heart
Yes, The Mandalorian himself is trading armor for Armani. Pascal brings Harry to life with vulnerability, warmth, and just enough swagger. Director Celine Song knew he was perfect for the role after a soul-baring chat. “Pedro I’ve known and loved for a while, but one day we were having a conversation that went very deep about the holiness of love — and the insane difficulty of love, love as a challenge — and I just realized then and there that I was talking to Harry.”
2. Rom-Com Royalty Inspiration
Pascal drew on some big-screen charmers to shape Harry’s persona, “I thought a lot about Harrison Ford in Working Girl, the George Clooney of the last 30 years, even as far back as Carey Grant,” Pascall recalls.
3. Celine Song Is Back, and She’s Mixing It Up
After stunning audiences with Past Lives, Song returns with a story that tackles modern romance with her signature emotional depth. “It was really important for Harry to not be a villain, or for him to not be a joke,” she says. “So I needed somebody who is completely lovable. Because with somebody who is Mr. Perfect, the truth is that we’re going to hate that guy. But the fact that Pedro is playing this character so vulnerably, we can’t help but be charmed by and love. He’s like an open wound.”
4. It’s More Than Just a Love Triangle
At its core, Materialists explores what we really value in a relationship—security or soulmates? It’s witty, heartfelt, and deeply relatable. Whether you’re a hopeless romantic or a cautious realist, there’s something in Lucy’s story that’ll hit home.
Ready to Fall in Love?
Grab your popcorn and bring your feels—Materialists premieres in Philippine cinemas this August 6, distributed locally by Columbia Pictures PH. Whether you’re rooting for Team Harry or Team John, this rom-com is sure to sweep you off your feet.
