From Aswang to Zombies: 7 Terrifying Prime Video Horror Picks for Halloween

Filipinos love a good scare. Whether it’s an eerie aswang story told by our grandparents, a mysterious White Lady sighting, or a late-night conversation about the manananggal, there’s something about supernatural tales that keeps us both terrified and intrigued.

And with Halloween just around the corner, what better way to embrace the spooky season than with a horror marathon?

This Halloween, Prime Video brings together a frightening lineup of horror movies and series featuring everything from flesh-eating monsters to cursed families and sinister spirits.

Ready to find out which terrifying characters might haunt your dreams? Here are seven nightmare-worthy titles to add to your Halloween watchlist.

    1. Apocalypse Z: New World

Think an aswang is terrifying? Imagine an entire world crawling with flesh-hungry creatures!

In Apocalypse Z: New World, the infected turn humanity’s worst nightmare into a terrifying reality. The second installment of the post-apocalyptic saga takes viewers to the Canary Islands, Europe’s last remaining refuge following the devastating TSJ virus outbreak.

    Apocalypse Z
    Apocalypse Z: New World

When a special team heads to mainland Spain in search of essential supplies, their dangerous mission becomes even more complicated with the arrival of Roberto (Carlos Alcaide), whose intentions are anything but reassuring.

With ravenous infected lurking around every corner and trust becoming a luxury, survival is far from guaranteed.

The real nightmare: When the world is overrun by monsters, sometimes the humans beside you are just as frightening.

Apocalypse Z: New World premieres on Prime Video on October 30.

    2. Carrie

High school can be brutal. But when bullying meets supernatural powers, things can get deadly.

Based on Stephen King’s iconic novel, the new Carrie series introduces Carrie White (Summer H. Howell), a teenager struggling with her father’s sudden death, merciless bullying, and the harsh realities of social media.

    Carrie

As a humiliating incident spreads online, Carrie discovers that she possesses extraordinary telekinetic abilities. Unfortunately, keeping those powers under control becomes increasingly difficult as her emotional turmoil intensifies.

And when someone who’s been pushed too far finally fights back, everyone may have reason to be afraid.

The real nightmare: The scariest person in the room might be the one everyone thought was powerless.

    3. KMJS’ Gabi ng Lagim The Movie

Remember staying up late watching Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho’s Gabi ng Lagim, only to regret it when it was time to turn off the lights?

Now, those familiar childhood chills come to the big screen with KMJS’ Gabi ng Lagim The Movie, an anthology featuring three frightening stories inspired by real events.

In Pocong, a cadet seafarer experiences terrifying encounters with a mysterious presence aboard his ship. Meanwhile, Berbalang follows disturbing rumors of a flesh-eating creature linked to a missing body.

And if demonic possession is your biggest fear, Sanib delivers the unsettling story of a young girl taken over by an evil spirit.

The real nightmare: These stories hit differently when the monsters come from folklore and supernatural beliefs familiar to Filipino audiences.

    4. Nokturno

What would you do if an unexpected knock at your door wasn’t from a visitor but a warning of death?

In Nokturno, Filipino folklore takes a sinister turn with the arrival of the Kumakatok, a supernatural entity associated with impending death.

After her sister dies under mysterious circumstances, overseas worker Jamie (Nadine Lustre) returns to her hometown, hoping to uncover the truth.

Instead, she discovers that her family is trapped in a terrifying curse rooted in secrets from the past.

As the sinister presence grows stronger, Jamie must confront the darkness threatening everyone she loves.

The real nightmare: Sometimes, the most terrifying sound isn’t a scream. It’s a knock you wish you hadn’t heard.

    5. In My Mother’s Skin

Forget the friendly fairies from bedtime stories. This one might make you wish you never believed in magic.

Set in the Philippines during World War II, In My Mother’s Skin follows a young girl desperate to save her critically ill mother.

With few options left, she seeks help from a mysterious fairy who appears to offer the miracle her family desperately needs.

    But there’s a horrifying catch.

Beneath the fairy’s seemingly harmless appearance lies something deeply sinister, turning an innocent act of hope into an unforgettable nightmare.

The real nightmare: The creature promising to save your family might be the very thing that destroys it.

    6. P77

Creepy hallways, suspicious noises, and unsettling neighbors? Sounds like the beginning of another Filipino ghost story.

In P77, Luna (Barbie Forteza) takes a housesitting job in a high-rise building while looking after her sick younger brother, Jonas (Euwenn Mikaell).

    p77
    P77

What initially seems like a simple way to earn money soon spirals into a terrifying ordeal when strange occurrences begin revealing the building’s dark secrets.

With supernatural danger creeping closer, Luna must find a way to protect herself and her brother before it’s too late.

The real nightmare: Imagine realizing that the place you’re staying in might never let you leave.

    7. Deleter

Think your office job is stressful? Imagine encountering something sinister every time you sit in front of a computer.

In Deleter, Nadine Lustre plays Lyra, an online content moderator whose work involves reviewing and removing disturbing videos from the internet.

But after she deletes a graphic video created by a colleague who later dies, her already unsettling job takes a horrifying turn.

    deleter

Strange encounters begin haunting Lyra, blurring the lines between psychological trauma and something far more supernatural.

As the terror escalates, one question remains: Is the nightmare happening inside her mind, or is something truly following her?

The real nightmare: You can delete a video, but what happens when the horror refuses to disappear?

  • Jumanji Takes Over the Real World in the New Trailer for ‘Jumanji: Open World,’ in PH Cinemas January 13

Jumanji Takes Over the Real World in the New Trailer for ‘Jumanji: Open World,’ in PH Cinemas January 13

The tables have turned, and this time, the game is coming for us.

After years of sending unsuspecting players into dangerous jungles filled with deadly creatures, outrageous challenges, and unpredictable surprises, Jumanji is flipping the script. In the newly released trailer for Jumanji: Open World, the beloved adventure game breaks free from its console, bringing its signature brand of chaos straight into reality.

And who better to save the day than the familiar faces who have already survived Jumanji’s wildest challenges?

    4 4

Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart, Jack Black, and Karen Gillan reunite for one last adventure in Jumanji: Open World, the final chapter of the blockbuster action-adventure trilogy, arriving in Philippine cinemas on January 13.

This Time, Jumanji Is Playing by Its Own Rules

Our world. New rules. One final game.

The heroes have beaten Jumanji before, escaping its treacherous landscapes and overcoming seemingly impossible odds. But just when they thought they understood how the game worked, Jumanji has one more trick up its sleeve.

Instead of pulling players into its digital universe, the game itself has found a way out.

The result? A world where the line between fantasy and reality has vanished, and the dangers once confined to a video game are suddenly everyone’s problem.

    6 2

The new trailer introduces this game-changing premise, setting the stage for an adventure that takes the franchise beyond its familiar jungle setting.

With Jumanji’s unpredictable rules now threatening the real world, the heroes face a different kind of challenge: containing a game that no longer wants to stay in its place.

And if their previous adventures have taught us anything, it’s that surviving Jumanji is never as simple as following the rules.

Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart, Jack Black, and Karen Gillan Are Back

Of course, a Jumanji adventure wouldn’t be complete without the hilarious chemistry and larger-than-life personalities of its central cast.

Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart, Jack Black, and Karen Gillan return to headline the film, bringing back the dynamic that helped make the modern Jumanji movies such crowd-pleasers.

    Jumanji OpenWorld

Whether it’s their comedic timing, unexpected teamwork, or knack for finding themselves in ridiculous situations, the four stars have become an essential part of the franchise’s appeal.

Also returning are Alex Wolff, Madison Iseman, Morgan Turner, Ser’Darius Blain, and Rhys Darby, alongside Nick Jonas and Danny DeVito.

With the ensemble back together, Jumanji: Open World promises another entertaining mix of action, humor, and high-stakes adventure, this time with the entire real world caught in the middle.

A Bigger Playing Field for Jumanji’s Final Adventure

What makes Jumanji: Open World particularly intriguing is how it turns the franchise’s central idea on its head.

In the previous films, entering Jumanji meant leaving the ordinary world behind. Players had to navigate unfamiliar environments, understand their new abilities, and work together to survive long enough to finish the game.

    2 8

Now, there’s no need to enter Jumanji to experience its dangers.

By bringing the game into reality, the final installment opens the door to a completely different kind of adventure. Familiar places are no longer necessarily safe, and the heroes must confront a threat that could affect far more than just the players.

It’s a clever reversal of the formula audiences have come to know, giving the franchise an opportunity to raise the stakes for its final chapter.

After all, how do you beat a game when the whole world has become its playground?

Watch the New ‘Jumanji: Open World’ Trailer

The adventure is far from over, and the latest trailer offers a first look at Jumanji’s bold new direction.

Watch the Jumanji: Open World trailer

Jake Kasdan returns to direct the final installment, working from a screenplay written with Jeff Pinkner and Scott Rosenberg. The film is based on the beloved children’s book Jumanji by Chris Van Allsburg.

Producers include Matt Tolmach, Jake Kasdan, Dwayne Johnson, Dany Garcia, and Hiram Garcia.

One Last Roll of the Dice

From its dangerous jungles to its unpredictable challenges, Jumanji has always been a world where anything can happen. But for its final adventure, the franchise is taking its biggest gamble yet by bringing the game into our own backyard.

    3 6

With its returning all-star cast, a fresh twist on the familiar premise, and one last opportunity for the heroes to outsmart the game, Jumanji: Open World is setting the stage for a fittingly chaotic farewell.

The question is no longer whether our heroes can escape Jumanji.

It’s whether they can stop Jumanji from taking over our world.

Jumanji: Open World opens in Philippine cinemas on January 13. Distributed locally by Columbia Picures PH.

  • Jane Austen’s ‘Sense and Sensibility’ Finds New Life on the Big Screen, Now Exclusively at Ayala Malls Cinemas

Jane Austen’s ‘Sense and Sensibility’ Finds New Life on the Big Screen, Now Exclusively at Ayala Malls Cinemas

Some stories never get old, especially when they involve complicated romances, broken hearts, and the eternal struggle between following your feelings and doing what’s expected of you.

More than 200 years after Jane Austen first introduced readers to the Dashwood sisters, Sense and Sensibility continues to capture the messy, funny, and often frustrating realities of love. Now, the beloved literary classic gets a fresh cinematic interpretation, bringing Austen’s signature wit, emotional depth, and unforgettable characters to a new generation.

Now showing exclusively at Ayala Malls Cinemas, the film offers more than a traditional period romance. At its heart is a story about two sisters discovering who they are, what they want, and how to hold on to each other when life takes an unexpected turn.

    4258 D005 00597 R 1 1

And as it turns out, Austen understood the complications of modern relationships long before dating apps and TikTok existed.

A 200-Year-Old Story That Still Feels Surprisingly Modern

When Jane Austen published Sense and Sensibility in 1811, she chose to remain anonymous, identifying herself on the novel’s title page simply as “By a Lady.”

It was a modest introduction for a writer whose sharp observations about love, social expectations, and human behavior would eventually make her one of literature’s most celebrated voices.

But beyond the elegant prose and romantic entanglements, Austen had another remarkable gift: she knew how to make people laugh at themselves.

That blend of intelligence, humor, and emotional honesty is precisely what inspired producer India Flint to revisit the classic.

    SS FP 00012 R 1 1

Interestingly, the idea began while Flint was reading Love & Virtue, the acclaimed 2021 debut novel by Australian author Diana Reid.

What struck me with Diana’s writing was her ability to capture a very specific kind of cultural moment, and her ability to capture the voice of her generation, Flint says

She immediately recognized a connection between Reid’s contemporary storytelling and Austen’s ability to capture the attitudes and contradictions of her own time.

Of course, this is also true for what we love about Austen. Diana’s about the same age as Austen was when she wrote the novel, and she’s not that different in age to the hero characters. I also knew that she was going to inject such a witty sense of humor.

The discovery eventually led to Reid taking on the screenplay, bringing a younger perspective to a story that has already captivated generations.

What Would Jane Austen Think of Modern Dating?

If there’s one thing Austen understood exceptionally well, it’s that matters of the heart rarely go according to plan.

Unspoken feelings, questionable romantic choices, mixed signals, and the occasional frustrating admirer are all familiar territory in Sense and Sensibility.

Sound like something straight out of your social media feed?

    SaS FP 00172 R

For screenwriter Diana Reid, that’s exactly the point.

Just because the labels have changed, doesn’t mean that people have,” Reid says. “Some of the heartbreak in the novel felt like the kind of thing that you would see someone complain about on TikTok.

It’s an amusing observation, but one that reveals why Austen remains so relevant. Centuries may separate her characters from today’s audiences, yet the emotions behind their decisions remain remarkably familiar.

And beneath all the social comedy is something surprisingly tender: the desire to find someone who truly understands you.

As Reid observes, much of Austen’s humor comes from the realization that people can be incredibly annoying. That only makes finding someone who shares your outlook on life feel even more extraordinary.

In other words, the real romance isn’t simply about falling in love. It’s about finding a person whose company makes the world feel a little less complicated.

    Watch the official trailer:

Meet the Dashwood Sisters: Two Hearts, Two Ways of Loving

Of course, no discussion of Sense and Sensibility would be complete without its two unforgettable heroines.

Following the death of their father, sisters Elinor and Marianne Dashwood find their lives upended by circumstances beyond their control. As they navigate an uncertain future, both encounter the joys, disappointments, and painful lessons that come with falling in love.

Yet despite sharing a home, a family, and a deep affection for each other, the sisters couldn’t be more different in how they approach matters of the heart.

Elinor is thoughtful, composed, and constantly aware of her responsibilities. She carefully considers the feelings of others, even when doing so means keeping her own desires hidden.

Marianne, meanwhile, is passionate, outspoken, and unapologetically romantic. She believes in expressing her feelings freely and pursuing love with everything she has.

For Reid, their differences are not about one sister being more emotional than the other.

    SaS FP 00247

They both are very intelligent and they’re both deeply empathetic, but it’s just a question of what they do with those emotions, Reid explains.

For Elinor, I always thought about it as a conflict between duty and desire—she’s always thinking about what other people want. Marianne is very sure of what she wants, and she pursues her desire ardently and without inhibition.

It’s a fascinating contrast because both approaches feel so human.

Who hasn’t struggled between saying what they truly feel and choosing what seems sensible? Or wondered whether protecting their heart might mean missing out on something wonderful?

Through Elinor and Marianne, Austen reminds us that neither reason nor passion holds all the answers.

The Film’s Greatest Love Story Might Not Be the Romance

While the Dashwood sisters experience their share of romantic excitement and heartbreak, director Georgia Oakley believes the most compelling relationship in Sense and Sensibility is the one they share with each other.

I was drawn to the relationship between the sisters, Oakley reveals.

For the director, Elinor and Marianne are more than contrasting personalities. They represent two opposing impulses that can exist within the same person: the desire to remain in control and the longing to surrender to one’s emotions.

They represent these two opposing forces that a lot of women have within themselves that are always at war, Oakley explains.

She also credits Austen’s understanding of gender and power dynamics, qualities that remain central to Reid’s adaptation.

What particularly fascinated Oakley was the idea that the story’s emotional center isn’t necessarily a conventional romantic relationship.

    SaS FP 00312 R

The fact that the central love story was between the two sisters—I think Austen was really writing about the two sides of herself that were often in disagreement with each other, and she splintered them out into these characters.

It’s a perspective that gives the familiar story added meaning.

After all, romantic relationships may come and go, but the bond between the Dashwood sisters survives disappointment, uncertainty, and the difficult process of growing up.

They disagree, make mistakes, and see the world differently. Yet when everything around them changes, they continue to find strength in each other.

And perhaps that’s the most beautiful kind of love story of all.

Rediscover the Wit, Romance, and Heart of ‘Sense and Sensibility’ at Ayala Malls Cinemas

With Diana Reid’s witty screenplay and Georgia Oakley’s character-driven vision, this adaptation of Sense and Sensibility invites audiences to see Jane Austen’s enduring classic from a fresh perspective.

It’s a story for anyone who has ever loved too deeply, kept their feelings to themselves, made a questionable romantic decision, or found comfort in someone who knows them better than anyone else.

For longtime Austen admirers, the film offers another opportunity to reconnect with beloved characters and familiar themes. For first-time viewers, it’s an introduction to a world where romance is wonderfully complicated, humor is delightfully sharp, and family remains a source of strength.

Because while the rules of courtship have certainly changed since Austen’s time, the search for love, belonging, and understanding remains as relatable as ever.

Experience Sense and Sensibility, now showing exclusively at Ayala Malls Cinemas, home to timeless classics, internationally acclaimed films, and exciting local and global releases.

Some stories are worth telling again. And when it comes to love, heartbreak, and the people who stand by us through it all, Sense and Sensibility proves that Jane Austen still knows exactly how to speak to our hearts.

  • David Leitch’s Action-Packed Heist Comedy “How to Rob a Bank” Hits PH Cinemas November 11

David Leitch’s Action-Packed Heist Comedy “How to Rob a Bank” Hits PH Cinemas November 11

Forget everything you know about bank robberies. In a world where going viral can be just as valuable as getting rich, pulling off the perfect heist might be easier than you think. But getting away with it? That’s another story.

From David Leitch, the acclaimed director behind Bullet Train and The Fall Guy, comes How to Rob a Bank, an explosive action-comedy that gives the classic heist genre a thrilling, social media-savvy makeover.

    3 5

Starring Nicholas Hoult, Zoë Kravitz, and John C. Reilly, the film brings high-stakes robberies, outrageous action, and a fresh perspective on crime in the digital age to Philippine cinemas on November 11.

A Bank Heist With a Surprisingly Dangerous Twist

What if robbing a bank wasn’t as difficult as everyone imagined?

That’s the unexpected question that inspired screenwriter Mark Bianculli to rethink the traditional heist movie.

    2 7

Rather than focusing solely on how criminals pull off a robbery, Bianculli became fascinated by something more intriguing: what motivates an ordinary person to become a bank robber in the first place?

Suddenly the question for me wasn’t just how someone robs a bank, it was why,” screenwriter Mark Bianculli says. “If the barrier to entry is so much lower than most people imagine, what would it take to convince you to cross that line? From there, everything else was born.

That unconventional idea became the foundation for How to Rob a Bank, a film that combines adrenaline-fueled action with sharp observations about modern society.

Meet the Bank Robbers Who Livestream Their Crimes

In How to Rob a Bank, crime isn’t just about making money. It’s also about building an audience.

    1 7

Leading the chaos is The Wolf, played by Nicholas Hoult, the mastermind behind a crew of bank robbers who livestream their daring heists to an ever-growing online following.

With every robbery, their popularity skyrockets. But the bigger their audience becomes, the more attention they attract from law enforcement.

Enter a seasoned FBI agent, played by John C. Reilly, who enlists the help of a software engineer under house arrest, portrayed by Zoë Kravitz.

    HTRAB FP 02500 R

Together, the unlikely pair attempts to outsmart the increasingly notorious criminals before they execute their boldest robbery yet.

As the stakes rise, the line between online spectacle and real-world danger becomes increasingly blurred.

David Leitch Brings His Signature Action Style to the Heist Genre

If there’s one thing audiences can expect from a David Leitch film, it’s spectacular action with plenty of personality.

Known for delivering inventive fight choreography and exhilarating set pieces, Leitch brings his extensive stunt background to films like Bullet Train and The Fall Guy.

Now, he takes that same creative energy into the world of high-tech bank robberies.

David is the right guy because this movie needed style, and David obviously oozes style, Bianculli says.

    5 3

According to the screenwriter, Leitch wanted more than impressive physical confrontations. He envisioned a story where every character clashes with someone else, every scene carries tension, and every action sequence serves a purpose.

But he also stressed the idea of collision, and not just physical collision. He wanted every character pushing against someone else, every scene to have tension, every set piece to be earned. I always joke that he took my script, plugged it into an amplifier and played the electric version, Bianculli adds.

And with Leitch behind the camera, audiences can look forward to a heist movie packed with thrilling encounters, unexpected twists, and larger-than-life personalities.

A Modern Heist Film That Reflects Our Social Media Obsession

Beyond the explosive action, How to Rob a Bank explores something surprisingly familiar: the power of online attention.

For longtime Leitch collaborator and producer Kelly McCormick, the story stood out because of its connection to the frustrations and conversations shaping today’s society.

McCormick saw an opportunity to create something that felt unmistakably 87North: wildly entertaining, visually exciting, and rooted in timely ideas.

    6 1

The challenge was bringing those themes to life without sacrificing the fun that audiences expect from a big-screen action comedy.

For Leitch, achieving that balance meant combining two distinct visual worlds: the cinematic spectacle of a Hollywood heist film and the spontaneous, immersive energy of digital content.

Our job was to build one cohesive world out of two very different visual languages, Leitch says. The movie had to feel cinematic, but it also had to feel immediate and authentic to the way this generation creates and consumes media. Every choice we made came back to serving the characters and making those two worlds feel like they belonged together.

The result promises a bank robbery experience where every livestream, every confrontation, and every unexpected move contributes to the excitement.

  • Critically Acclaimed ‘You Can See Everything’ Opens in PH Cinemas this November 18

Critically Acclaimed ‘You Can See Everything’ Opens in PH Cinemas this November 18

One of 2026’s most buzzed-about documentaries is officially headed to the Philippines.

Columbia Pictures Philippines has announced that You Can See Everything, the provocative new film from directors Nathan Fielder and Lance Oppenheim, will open in Philippine cinemas on November 18.

    1 6

Centered on controversial Silicon Valley founder Elizabeth Holmes, the documentary follows her during the final weeks before she is scheduled to begin her prison sentence. What starts as a seemingly intimate portrait soon evolves into something far stranger, more layered, and increasingly difficult to define.

    Watch the trailer:

A documentary that refuses to play it safe

Thirty-four days before entering prison, Holmes invites a skeptical film crew to document her life and every move.

That setup alone promises an unusually close look at one of the most infamous figures in recent Silicon Valley history. But under the direction of Fielder and Oppenheim, the film pushes beyond a conventional profile.

    2 5

Instead, You Can See Everything becomes an ambitious examination of perception, control, performance, and the unstable line between truth and manipulation.

The result has already generated major critical attention in the United States.

The film currently holds a 98% score on Rotten Tomatoes, alongside a 96% Popcornmeter audience rating, signaling strong reception from both critics and moviegoers.

Critics are calling it one of the year’s best films

Among the film’s most enthusiastic reviews is one from Cultured Pop, which praises its immersive and unconventional approach.

You Can See Everything offers such a uniquely involving experience and is easily one of the best movies of the year.

A startling, radical, evolutionary work of documentary cinema built on a triangulation of characters who are the evil geniuses of our era – not only the greatest movie of the year, but also the most essential. It will destroy you, for the better. – The Globe and Mail

    8 2

The publication adds, “It will destroy you, for the better.”

Meanwhile, The Guardian awarded the documentary five stars, highlighting the film’s slippery exploration of trust and intent.

What I can tell you is that You Can See Everything is a masterpiece of who’s playing who, the fragility and absurdities of trust, seemingly begotten by chance.

Nathan Fielder and Lance Oppenheim turn the camera into part of the story

Much of the early praise has focused not only on Holmes, but also on how Fielder and Oppenheim challenge the usual boundaries of documentary filmmaking.

The Hollywood Reporter commends the boldness of the concept, writing:

What begins as a fascinatingly intimate portrait of a deluded or disingenuous scammer reveals as something even wilder, more ambitious and less predictable, until we’re left to ponder what value a personal truth has at all.

    3 3

IndieWire, which gave the film a Grade A, also praised the filmmakers’ contrasting strengths and the tension created by their approach.

Fielder’s side-eye, always directed at Evans, gives viewers insight into his position, while Oppenheim’s expertise in feature narrative and documentary filmmaking elevates the film’s craft. Together, the duo keeps us on the edge of our seats, glued to the screen.

That tension appears to be central to the film’s appeal. Rather than simply presenting Holmes as a subject to be observed, You Can See Everything repeatedly questions who is controlling the narrative, who is performing for whom, and how much viewers can truly trust what is happening in front of the camera.

A closer look at Elizabeth Holmes before prison

Holmes became one of Silicon Valley’s most notorious figures following the collapse of Theranos, the health technology company she founded and once led.

    7 3

In You Can See Everything, however, the focus is narrowed to an especially charged period in her life.

With only 34 days remaining before her imprisonment, Holmes allows cameras unusually close access, creating the foundation for a film that gradually expands into a three-year journey.

According to the film’s official synopsis:

Thirty-four days before she’s sent to prison, notorious Silicon Valley founder Elizabeth Holmes invites a skeptical film crew to document her every move. What begins as an intimate portrait of an enigmatic felon becomes a mind-bending three-year journey into the abyss.

For viewers expecting a straightforward true-crime documentary, the early reviews suggest something much more unpredictable awaits.

‘You Can See Everything’ arrives this November

With near-unanimous critical praise, a provocative subject, and two filmmakers known for unconventional storytelling, You Can See Everything is shaping up to be one of the most intriguing documentary releases of the year.

Philippine audiences will get to experience the acclaimed film when it opens in cinemas on November 18.

  • Malupiton Takes on His First Leading-Man Role in ‘He’s Dating a Boldstar,’ Opening October 28

Malupiton Takes on His First Leading-Man Role in ‘He’s Dating a Boldstar,’ Opening October 28

Malupiton is trading viral videos for the big screen.

Joel Ravanera, better known to millions online as Malupiton, steps into a new chapter of his career with He’s Dating a Boldstar, his first feature film as a leading man. The romantic comedy opens in cinemas nationwide on October 28.

Known for turning everyday situations into wildly relatable comedy, Malupiton now brings his familiar humor and easygoing charm to a love story that places an ordinary man in a very unexpected situation.

This time, the laughs come with romance, awkward discoveries, and a relationship that forces his character to look beyond first impressions.

    Watch the official trailer here.

An Ordinary Guy Meets Someone Completely Unexpected

In He’s Dating a Boldstar, Malupiton plays Jeboy, a cheerful and uncomplicated man who is perfectly comfortable with his ordinary routine.

    Then Kit enters his life.

Played by Analyn Barro, Kit is warm, beautiful, and easy to be around. Her arrival adds excitement to Jeboy’s predictable days, and what begins as a casual friendship soon develops into a connection he cannot ignore.

    HDAB Still 2

For Jeboy, Kit seems to bring everything his life has been missing. She makes things brighter, more exciting, and perhaps even more meaningful.

There is just one part of her life he does not fully understand yet.

    Love Gets Complicated

Kit works as a performer in adult-content films, something Jeboy initially knows very little about.

As he gets closer to her, Jeboy begins to see that their growing relationship comes with questions he never expected to face. Suddenly, he must deal with other people’s assumptions, his own insecurities, and the challenges of falling for someone whose work attracts attention and judgment.

It is a situation far removed from the simple world he knows.

    HDAB Still 4

Still, beneath the comedy and uncomfortable moments is a familiar question: how much should someone’s past, profession, or public image matter when genuine feelings are involved?

That question gives He’s Dating a Boldstar more to work with than a typical opposites-attract romance.

Malupiton Brings His Everyman Charm to the Movies

Malupiton’s casting as Jeboy feels closely connected to the personality that made him popular online.

His comedy has long been built around characters and situations that feel familiar to Filipino audiences. Whether he is playing someone confused, frustrated, confident, or completely caught off guard, much of his appeal comes from making ordinary experiences funny.

Jeboy gives him a chance to bring that same energy to a full-length film.

    HDAB Still 1

Instead of transforming him into an overly polished romantic lead, He’s Dating a Boldstar leans into the qualities audiences already recognize. Jeboy is awkward, sincere, humorous, and unmistakably human.

That familiarity could be one of the film’s biggest strengths.

For longtime followers, seeing Malupiton move from short-form comedy to a major movie role also makes the project a notable milestone. It is a significant jump for the content creator, placing him in a different kind of spotlight while allowing him to stay close to the comedic style that built his audience.

Analyn Barro Plays the Woman Who Changes Jeboy’s World

Opposite Malupiton is Analyn Barro as Kit, the woman at the center of Jeboy’s unexpected romance.

Rather than simply serving as the mysterious woman who disrupts his routine, Kit brings her own complications to the story. Her profession, public image, and personal life create challenges that test whether Jeboy can accept her beyond what other people see.

    HDAB Still 6

Their unlikely pairing sets up the film’s central tension.

Can two people from completely different worlds build something real when outside opinions, assumptions, and personal doubts begin getting in the way?

The answer, of course, is where much of the comedy and romance comes in.

    A New Milestone for Malupiton

He’s Dating a Boldstar is produced by NKO Films and directed by Niokz Arcega, known for his distinct approach to twisted comedy.

The project also brings Malupiton together with friends and longtime collaborators who have been part of his journey as an online entertainer.

    HDAB Still 3

Moving from digital sketches to a feature-length movie is no small transition, but the film appears to embrace rather than abandon the qualities that made Malupiton a viral favorite.

His humor remains front and center. The difference is that Jeboy now has more room to grow, fall in love, make mistakes, and discover just how complicated relationships can become.

A Rom-Com With an Unconventional Setup

At its heart, He’s Dating a Bold Star is about two people whose lives should not necessarily fit together, yet somehow do.

Jeboy is content with simplicity. Kit lives a life that comes with public attention and complicated perceptions.

Put them together, and things are bound to get messy.

With romance, friendship, humor, and plenty of uncomfortable surprises, the film asks whether an ordinary man is ready to accept a love story that is anything but ordinary.

    Hes Dating a Boldstar poster

For fans who have watched Malupiton turn everyday comedy into viral entertainment, He’s Dating a Boldstar offers a chance to see him take that relatable persona somewhere new.

This time, he is not just chasing laughs.

    He is falling in love.

Distributed by Go Asia Entertainment, He’s Dating a Boldstar opens in cinemas nationwide on October 28.
