Twin exhibits at ARTablado gather newbies and established artists

At ARTablado, twin exhibits unite emerging and established artists, blending fresh perspectives with seasoned creativity in a dynamic showcase of diverse styles and mediums.

Since its launch in 2020, ARTablado by Robinsons Land has served as a platform to showcase the ingenuity of Filipino artists—from solo or back-to-back duo shows to varied group shows. Whether you’re a newbie in the art world, a returning artist determined to tap into their creative side once again, or an established artist with a distinctive style, ARTablado welcomes all.

This time, its two venues at Robinsons Galleria and Robinsons Antipolo are hosting group shows featuring works by members of Art Show Philippines and seven artists with varying art styles, respectively.

“Lyrical Landscapes” at ARTablado in Robinsons Galleria invites viewers to take a closer look at a collection of landscapes that evoke a sense of wonder and tranquility.

“We chose the title because landscapes can evoke emotions and feelings the way lyrics in music can stir emotions,” said artist Frederick Epistola, founder and head curator of Art Show Philippines whose work will be on display until July 31. “The use of the word lyrical suggests that the landscapes go beyond mere visual representation, delving into the realm of emotional expression and poetic interpretation.”

A total of 16 new artists are part of the ongoing exhibit although this is not the first time for Art Show Philippines at ARTablado.

“As someone who dreams for my artworks to be seen, ARTablado has given me the opportunity not just to show my paintings but for me to meet other amazing artists and art lovers. They inspire me and teach me with their different techniques and knowledge in creating art pieces, which I think is the best part of it. ARTablado is strengthening the art community by gathering artists and letting us showcase our talents and art pieces,” said Francesca Miranda.

Fellow newbie Angeli Sarreal still can’t get over being part of the show. “It feels surreal. I used to be just one of the viewers at art exhibits. Now, with the chance given by ASP and ARTablado, I became a part of the exhibit itself,” she said.

Rhiamie “Riri” Santos Ratunil said that joining the group show opened doors for her. “It has allowed me to meet like-minded individuals, enhance my skills, and improve my artistic direction. Most importantly, it has given me the chance to share my work with others, and overcome my hesitation and fear of showing vulnerability.”

Ongoing at ARTablado in Robinsons Antipolo is a smaller group show, just seven artists showcasing different styles and genres. “Thoughts from Different Walks” was designed to collectively showcase their individual works. The artists may have different styles but their goal is the same—to artistically reveal what words fail to say.

Joel Reglos put the group together based on the artists’ work. “Basically, their unique styles caught my eye,” he said.

He gave some suggestions for promising new artists. “They should have the tenacity when it comes to creating art. Set aside time to hone your skills. Also pay attention to what you are doing. That’s the key to reaching your goals as an artist,” Reglos said.

He is grateful for ARTablado because it’s a platform for artists like him to reach a wider audience. “Exhibiting at ARTablado gave me the exposure needed to further my art career,” he added.
