Siesta, the brand that redefined the local horchata scene in the Philippines, officially returns to its roots in the South with a dual-impact expansion: the opening of its newest branch in BF Homes, Paranaque, and the unveiling of its premier concept space, Ola by Siesta, at Alabang West Parade.
This two-pronged launch marks a significant milestone for the brand, bringing Siesta back to the community where it all began while simultaneously pushing the boundaries of the café experience.
Siesta: A Community Homecoming in BF Homes
The relocation to BF Homes signifies a return to Siesta’s heritage, offering the neighborhood its signature horchata-centric menu in a familiar, welcoming setting.
Designed as a community-focused hub, this branch serves as a home for the brand’s loyal followers in the South. Guests can enjoy their favorite signature blends in a space that celebrates the neighborhood “siesta” culture, from Monday to Sunday, 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM.
“Returning to the South is a full-circle moment for us. Siesta started in the South with a simple love for horchata that I would share with family and friends, and seeing that passion grow into a dedicated concept space feels surreal. It’s incredibly special to bring it back to where it all began,” says Paola Huyong, the visionary behind Siesta.
Ola by Siesta: An Experiential Horizon at Alabang West
Meanwhile, Ola by Siesta at Alabang West Parade serves as the brand’s new “concept space”—a fresh, experiential destination designed for tastemakers who value both aesthetic design and deep connection.
The centerpiece of the Ola experience is the Horchata Tasting Flight, the first of its kind in the local café scene. By day, beginning May 16, Ola operates as a café with an evolving menu, then transforms into an intimate tasting-menu experience on weekend evenings.
Curated in collaboration with Chef Relynette Tan, this immersive offering pays tribute to the Philippines as a rice-growing country, showcasing locally sourced ingredients from various provinces to highlight the depth and complexity of the traditional rice drink.
Chef Rely’s appreciation for Latin cuisine deepened while working alongside Mexican, Guatemalan, Peruvian, Salvadoran, and Argentinian colleagues in kitchens across the United States.
Through these shared culinary experiences, she was introduced to flavors and dishes such as arepas, pupusas, mole, and many others — inspirations that ultimately helped shape this contemporary interpretation of horchata.
From Fridays to Sundays, starting at 6:00 PM, the Horchata Tasting Flight debuts as an immersive journey through horchata’s evolution, told through carefully crafted pours, flavors, and traditions inspired by different cultures and eras.
The experience features five meticulously crafted drinks paired with a signature dessert, delivering a cohesive, thoughtfully curated flavor experience for every guest.
To keep the experience intimate and thoughtfully curated, each tasting flight is limited to a few guests per session.
While a dedicated reservation website is currently in development, those looking to secure a seat for this immersive experience can coordinate their schedules through Instagram.
“With the launch of the Horchata Tasting Flight, we wanted to create an experience that feels entirely new, one that invites guests to discover horchata in a more thoughtful, immersive, and unexpected way,” shares Paola.
“More than simply serving a drink, we want to take our guests on a journey through different notes, textures, and interpretations of horchata. Ola is rooted in exploration and discovery, and we’re excited for the South community to experience what we’ve been creating.”
