A Night of Magic in the Lion City
Singapore was swept away by the magic of Oz as the glittering cast of Wicked: For Good descended upon Universal Studios Singapore for the film’s Asia-Pacific premiere. On November 13, the yellow carpet transformed into an enchanting runway, welcoming stars Ariana Grande (Glinda), Cynthia Erivo (Elphaba), Michelle Yeoh, and Jeff Goldblum, along with visionary director Jon M. Chu.

Hosted by Filipino VJs Ai Dela Cruz and Markki Stroem, the premiere celebrated the upcoming global release of the final chapter in the untold stories of the witches of Oz.
Filipino Stars Shine Bright in Oz
Filipino celebrities Andrea Brilliantes and Darren Espanto made an unforgettable appearance on the yellow carpet, dazzling in Wicked-inspired ensembles—Andrea in Glinda’s signature pink, Darren channeling Elphaba in emerald green. The moment grew even more magical when the two met Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo in person, sharing smiles, hugs, and photos that quickly went viral.
For Brilliantes, the night was deeply personal. “Three years ago, I sat by myself in a theater watching my first-ever musical. Then I watched the movie, and it changed something in me,”
Espanto echoed the wonder, writing: “Spent one short day in the Emerald City! We got to meet Glinda and Elphaba & watched a special advanced screening of ‘Wicked: For Good!’”

A Surprise Twist on the Yellow Carpet
Despite the fairytale atmosphere, the premiere was briefly interrupted when a fan broke past security and approached Ariana Grande on the carpet. Cynthia Erivo immediately stepped between Grande and the individual, shielding her co-star with calm grace. Security quickly de-escalated the situation, and the event continued, a testament to the cast’s poise under pressure.
