Amazon’s global streaming service Prime Video is set to bring more content tailored for its Filipino viewers!
Starting this August, Prime Video will be offering an exciting local content slate and a localized user experience for Filipino audiences. The streamer’s support for local production companies comes with their local marketing launch here in the country, created with Filipino producers and featuring Anne Curtis.
In line with this, Amazon Prime Video has announced their first local Amazon Original, Comedy Island: Philippines, which is produced in cooperation with Base Entertainment and is set to launch in 2023.
Meanwhile, viewers can soon be able to enjoy more local exclusive titles such as Big Night, How to Love Mr. Heartless, and Weather the Weather is Fine (Kun Maupay Man It Panahon). Pinoys can also get their fix of Korean content such as Nothing Serious and Toy Soldiers: Fake Men 2 The Complete; anime favorites such as Demon Slayer and Jujutsu Kaisen 0; US films such as Thirteen Lives and No Time to Die; Amazon Originals such as The Boys, The Terminal List, the upcoming The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power; and so much more!
Aside from the Philippines, Prime Video also increased its investment for viewers in Thailand and Indonesia.
“We’re delighted to be increasing our investment in Prime Video for customers in Southeast Asia, making it a truly localized experience—from local content specifically sourced for our customers, to a localized user experience, and the first full-scale local marketing campaign,” stated Josh McIvor, director of International Expansion, Prime Video. “Our support of local production companies in Southeast Asia is a significant step towards our broader international expansion plans and our ambition to become the most local of global streaming services.”
Prime Video is now available with an introductory subscription price of P149 per month (promo runs until December 31, 2023), with a seven-day free trial. Visit the Prime Video website or download the Prime Video app on the Play Store or App Store.
