Fresh from the release of Bridgerton season 2, Netflix has revealed the cast for its upcoming spinoff series which will revolve around the younger years of Queen Charlotte and King George.

Centered on Queen Charlotte’s rise to prominence and power, this Bridgerton-verse prequel tells the story of how the young Queen’s marriage to King George sparked both a great love story and a societal shift, creating the world of the Ton inherited by the characters in Bridgerton.
The prequel will have Golda Rosheuvel, Adjoa Andoh, and Ruth Gemmell reprising their roles as Queen Charlotte, Lady Agatha Danbury, and Lady Violet Bridgerton respectively. Joining them are India Amarteifio (Line of Duty) as the young Queen Charlotte, Corey Mylchreest (Sandman) as the young King George, Arsema Thomas as the young Lady Danbury, and Michelle Fairley (Game of Thrones) as Princess Augusta– a dowager princess who will do “what it takes to secure her son’s place as monarch amidst a changing, modernizing Britain.”
Also joining the cast and characters are Sam Clemmett as Young Brimsley; Richard Cunningham as Lord Bute; Tunji Kasim as Adolphus, Rob Maloney as the Royal Doctor; Cyril Nri as Lord Danbury, and Hugh Sachs as Brimsley.
Shonda Rhimes serves as the showrunner and writer for the upcoming show, with Tom Verica as the director. More details about the series are yet to be revealed.
