Warner Bros. Discovery Unveils Thrilling HBO Asia Originals Drama “Fired Up!” in Partnership with Damou Entertainment

Warner Bros. Discovery today announced new HBO Asia Originals, Fired Up! (working title), a coming-of-age drama series by production house, DaMou Entertainment in Taiwan. In celebration of its 10^th Anniversary, DaMou Entertainment announced a slate of projects – including their upcoming collaboration with Warner Bros. Discovery – during the 2023 Taiwan Creative Content Fest on November 9. Fired Up! will commence production in December 2023.

Adapted from the popular Kakao Webtoon comic Itaewon Class created by GwangJin, this series represents DaMou Entertainment’s third collaboration with Warner Bros. Discovery with past successes including The World Between Us, which received 14 nominations and won six major awards at the 54^th Annual Golden Bell Awards, and Workers, which won four major awards for Best Miniseries or Television Film at the 56^th Annual Golden Bell Awards. “We’re thrilled to announce another collaboration with DaMou Entertainment, particularly as they celebrate their milestone 10^thAnniversary. Fired Up! tells a story of Chou Lu-yung (Eric Chou), a young man who embarks on a quest to uncover the truth behind his father’s tragic death. Committed to preserving his family’s eatery, “Jin Lai Hao,” he teams up with a close-knit group of friends and together, they navigate the challenges of life while seeking justice for his father’s passing.

The show delves into themes of teamwork, family, friendship, business rivalry, and the rich world of Taiwanese cuisine, delivering a heart-warming and thrilling storyline. As the eatery flourishes, the group faces a power struggle with a formidable conglomerate, and their destinies become intricately intertwined.

Greta Gerwig’s ‘Barbie’ Triumph: First Female-Directed Billion-Dollar Global Box Office Success

Just 17 days after release in North America and most international markets, this pop culture phenomenon has amassed a staggering $1.0315 billion worldwide. Unleashing the Scarab: Inka Magnaye Lends Voice for PH Release of “Blue Beetle”

Warner Bros. Philippines has unveiled an exciting announcement that’s set to thrill Pinoy fans. Filipino voice talent extraordinaire and famed content creator, Inka Magnaye, will lend her voice to the Scarab, an ancient alien artifact crucial to the DC Super Hero’s tale, in the Philippine edition of Warner Bros. Pictures’ eagerly awaited action-adventure “Blue Beetle.”

An Alien Guide: The Scarab’s Role in ‘Blue Beetle’

In the movie, the Scarab, or Khaji-Da, mentors Jaime Reyes, played by “Cobra Kai’s” rising star Xolo Maridueña, helping him understand and manage his newfound, seemingly infinite powers as he transforms into the Super Hero Blue Beetle. The original voice of the Scarab is none other than the multi-talented singer/actress, Becky G.

Warner Asserts Box-Office Dominance with Back-to-Back Hits ‘The Batman,’ ‘Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore’

“The Batman” shattered records in March. Then, “Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore” scored a magical $193.4-M over the weekend, worldwide. And just like that, Warner Bros. Pictures is enjoying its best box-office season in years, with no signs of slowing down.

While receipts for the latest “Fantastic Beasts” movie are still coming in, Warner is celebrating the triumph of “The Batman” which has flown past $750-M at the global box office. The film has maintained its top spot as the highest-grossing film of the year, both in the U.S. and worldwide.

Earning widespread praise from critics and audiences alike, director Matt Reeves’s powerful new vision of the globally iconic DC Super Hero has taken in $365 million in U.S. receipts and $386 million internationally, and is still going strong.

In the Philippines, “Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore” likewise opened at No.1 for the two-day April 16-17 frame, capturing a market share of 63%. Together with “The Batman” which is still playing in local theaters, Warner is dominating the market with an over-all 68% share for the same period.

“We couldn’t have started the year better,” said Francis Soliven, General Manager of Warner Bros. Philippines. “`The Batman’ and the new `Fantastic Beasts’ are consecutive blockbusters for Warner this early in 2022, and we owe it to the local moviegoers who, despite the challenges, have trooped back to the theaters.”

For the rest of 2022, Warner is betting on Baz Luhrmann’s epic musical “Elvis,” the animated superhero comedy “DC League of Super-Pets,” the horror-thriller “Salem’s Lot,” the psychological thriller “Don’t Worry, Darling” and the superhero tentpoles “Black Adam” and “Shazam: Fury of the Gods.”

Gary Dauberman (“The Nun”) directs this horror thriller based on the book by Stephen King. DON’T WORRY DARLING

Psychological Thriller.
