  • Be revenge travel ready! Here are tips to stay fresh on the road

After two years of being cooped up inside our homes, Filipinos are now traveling with a vengeance. This phenomenon, coined as ‘revenge travel’ in 2021, describes the eager need to make up for lost time by going on adventures, big-splurge vacations, and seeing friends and family more often than usual.

As borders slowly reopen and restrictions start to ease, aspiring travelers have started to revisit their travel plans to make their dream destinations a reality. The urge to make up for lost time and canceled plans has been stronger than ever. Filipinos have a newfound desire to travel like never before.

However, planning for a trip can be both exciting and overwhelming. With all the preparations necessary for travel, staying fresh and keeping your hygiene in check is a must even during long hours on the road.

    Dentiste travel friendly products

Ready for your revenge trip? Here are some tips to stay fresh while on the go:

Remember that less is better when packing

When packing personal necessities, Filipinos must remember that less is better. Select airplane-ready sizes (100mL or less!) to maintain your current routine like shampoo, moisturizers, makeup, and even toothpaste.

Dentiste oral rinse and breath spray

Luckily, DENTISTE’, the no. 1 premium oral brand in South Korea*, has on-the-go Travel Sets, Mini Mouthwashes, and even Breath Sprays that fit in your carry-on or even your pocket. TSA safe – guaranteed!

A lifesaver for long-haul/red-eyes flights when your mask breath gets funky and a nice pick-me-up during flights.

Skip the generic hotel toothpaste and stay fresh for your entire trip!

    Stay Hydrated even when on-the-go

Whether you’re traveling on a budget or not, staying hydrated is a must, although it’s easy to forget to drink water when you’re on the go all day. Drinking water can help prevent bad breath as it helps keep your mouth clean and kill bacteria. Staying hydrated can also help you feel refreshed all day, especially when you’re at a humid destination.

    Eat a well-balanced meal

When traveling, our bodies can feel tired and drained from all the activities and long hours on the road. Eating a well-balanced meal is the key to helping keep your body nourished and energized. Avoid overindulging to give your body steady levels of energy which will help you create more fun memories during your vacation.

Keep mints with you at all times

The last thing you want to happen while traveling is to run into someone you know, only to greet them with bad breath – yikes! Breath mints are handy dandy lifesavers that fit in your bag or even your pockets. While there are specialized breath mints designed for the sole purpose of keeping your breath fresh such as DENTISTE’s Love Mints, any minty candy will do.

Using Nighttime toothpaste for traveling long hours

DENTISTE’s Nighttime toothpaste is actually intended to keep our breath fresh overnight. Its all-natural formula fights bacteria and provides a minty fresh breath even after 8 hours.

    Dentiste travel pack 2

Made from 14 natural extracts (ingredients like sage, peppermint, and eucalyptus) and free from harsh chemicals, DENTISTE’ Nighttime Toothpaste is part of a recommended 3-step oral ritual of brushing, flossing, and anti-bacterial rinsing. DENTISTE’ also recommends using tongue cleaners, mints, and breath sprays to ensure a full day of fresh breath.

DENTISTE’ products are available – both in full and travel size – online at BeautyMNL, Shopee, Lazada, or any major supermarkets and pharmacies.

  • The Airbnb 2022 Summer Release: Introducing a new Airbnb for a new world of travel

Last year, Airbnb released 150 upgrades to improve every aspect of the Airbnb service. Today, Airbnb launches the biggest change to the platform  in a decade including:

    • Airbnb Categories – A new way to search that makes it easy to discover millions of homes you never knew existed.
    • Split Stays – An innovative feature that provides more options for longer stays by splitting your trip between two homes.
    • AirCover for guests – The most comprehensive protection in travel, included for free with every stay.

“The way people travel has changed forever. That’s why we’re introducing the biggest change to Airbnb in a decade,” said Brian Chesky, CEO and Co-Founder of Airbnb. “First, people are more flexible about where they live and work, so we’ve designed a new way to search with Airbnb Categories. Second, people are taking longer trips, so we created Split Stays to give you more options by splitting your trip between two homes. And third, we’re introducing AirCover for guests, giving you the confidence to book knowing that Airbnb’s got your back.”

These platform updates come hot on the heels of the Philippines’ travel rebound, as travel interest amongst international and domestic guests continue to surge since the country’s international reopening on 1 April. The topmost trending summer destinations in the Philippines, ranked by searches by Philippine guests on Airbnb in Q1 2022, include:

    1. Angeles, Central Luzon
    2. Subic, Central Luzon
    3. Mabalacat, Central Luzon
    4. Antipolo, Calabarzon
    5. Calatagan, Calabarzon
    6. Cagayan De Oro City, Northern Mindanao
    7. Panglao, Central Visayas
    8. San Juan, Calabarzon
    9. Bacolod, Western Visayas
    10. Silang, Calabarzon

Guests are also exploring more destinations than ever before, and more than 60 new cities and towns across the Philippines have welcomed their very first Airbnb guests since the pandemic. Among these are lesser-known, off-the-beaten tourist spots including nature-based destinations Doña Remedios Trinidad in Bulacan and Bato in Leyte.

    Airbnb Categories

Millions of people are now more flexible about where they live and work. But travel search has been the same for 25 years — you enter a location and dates into a search box. Most of us can only think of a few dozen cities to type into the search box, but there are Airbnbs in 100,000 towns and cities around the world.

That’s why Airbnb is introducing a new way to search designed around Airbnb Categories, with 56 new categories that organize homes based on their style, location, or proximity to a travel activity. When you search for a destination, your search results are also organized by categories that are relevant to that destination, making it easy to discover millions of unique homes you never knew existed. As you view different categories, the map intelligently zooms in to show you where the homes are located.

To create Airbnb Categories, Airbnb evaluated millions of homes using machine learning to analyze titles, written descriptions, photo captions, structured data from Hosts, and reviews from guests. Members of Airbnb’s curation team review listings and hand-pick featured photos — so if a listing is in the Amazing Pools Category, the first photo shows a pool. Then, each category goes through a final check to help ensure consistency and photo quality.

The 56 Airbnb Categories include more than 4 million unique homes that are made possible by Airbnb’s Hosts all around the world. Airbnb Categories organize homes by what makes them unique, which helps people discover places they wouldn’t have otherwise found. This can help alleviate over-tourism by redistributing travel to new locations beyond the same popular destinations.

    Split Stays

In the last three months, nearly half of the nights booked on Airbnb were for trips of a week or more. That’s why Airbnb created Split Stays, an innovative feature that splits your trip between two homes. With Split Stays, you will typically see around 40% more listings when searching for longer stays.

When searching a specific destination, Split Stays automatically appear in your search results. They also appear within 14 categories — including Camping, National Parks, Skiing, and Surfing — to inspire you to stay in two destinations as part of a longer trip.

When viewing Split Stays on a map, an animated line visually connects the two homes to show you the distance between them and the sequence of the stays. Once you select a Split Stay, you’re guided through an easy-to-use interface to book each stay, one home at a time.

    AirCover for Guests

After staying home for over two years, millions of Filipinos are traveling again for the first time since the start of the pandemic. That’s why Airbnb  created AirCover, the most comprehensive protection in travel. AirCover is always included and always free, and it represents the biggest upgrade to Airbnb customer service in a decade.

With AirCover, you’re covered by four protections every time you stay on Airbnb:

    • Booking Protection Guarantee – In the unlikely event a Host needs to cancel your booking within 30 days of check-in, we’ll find you a similar or better home, or we’ll refund you.
    • Check-In Guarantee – If you can’t check into your home and the Host cannot resolve the issue, we’ll find you a similar or better home for the length of your original stay, or we’ll refund you.
    • Get-What-You-Booked Guarantee – If at any time during your stay you find your listing isn’t as advertised — for example, the refrigerator stops working and your Host can’t easily fix it, or there are fewer bedrooms than listed — you’ll have three days to report it and we’ll find you a similar or better home, or we’ll refund you.
    • 24-hour Safety Line – If you ever feel unsafe, you’ll get priority access to specially-trained safety agents, day or night.

AirCover has been designed directly into the Airbnb app and website, making it easy for you to contact an agent and resolve issues quickly. We created a team of specially trained agents for last-minute rebooking assistance. We also significantly expanded our 24-hour safety line to cover 16 languages.

The Airbnb 2022 Summer Release: Introducing a new Airbnb for a new world of travel

    Available starting this week

Airbnb’s redesigned app and website with over 50 categories of unique homes, the innovative Split Stays feature, and AirCover for guests will be available worldwide this week.

  • 8 Foods to Try When in Naga City, Camarines Sur

When you hear Bicol, you instantly think it’s a place where almost all people love food that are spicy, laced with coconut milk, or both. While it’s almost true, there’s more to this region than just that. For your first stop, you might want to visit the charming Naga City where cultural attractions like old churches from the Spanish era and the beautiful Mt. Isarog are found.

After you’re done with your adventure in and around the pilgrimage city, it’s time to check out the many food offerings you can devour. From specialty dishes in restaurants to the bustling streets where you can sample a wide variety of eats, food is what makes a trip to Naga City worthwhile. There are plenty of must-try restaurants but in this list, we’re highlighting popular eats and treats in the local food scene that will make your trip even memorable:

    Kinalas

    18839666 10154958665256622 3650492839034032010 o

It would be a sin if you miss out on Kinalas which is Naga City’s version of mami. It is a bowl of noodles in flavorful broth topped with strips of beef or pork meat, gravy made out of brain, and calamansi on the side. If you prefer something less daring, get the Log-Log instead which is everything you can ask for in a kinalas without the meat.

    Puto Bukayo

Other provinces in the Philippines have this too, but Naga’s Puto Bukayo is a great merienda option while you’re there. It is made of rice flour, shredded coconut, and muscovado, steamed for a bit and wrapped in fragrant banana leaves before ready to be eaten.

    Toasted Siopao

Most people grew up with the classic siopao that has a fluffy white bun, but Naga City has its very own toasted siopao. It has a beautiful toasted bread that’s thicker and has a different texture compared to the steamed one. Bite into it and get a taste of the juicy meatballs and slices of hard boiled egg!

    Halo-Halo with Cheese

We’re certain you’ve never tasted Halo-Halo like this one before. One look, you would notice it’s the usual Filipino dessert with all the works — sweetened saba, langka, ube, leche flan, nata de coco, kaong, sago, leche flan, and evaporated milk. What makes this extra special is the cheese that’s shredded on top, and a unique way they prepare the ice. It’s fluffy, fine, and almost melts in your mouth!

    Bicol Express

    IMG 6658

Some know Bicol Express as the actual dish that’s served with warm rice, but Bicolanos know it as a side dish to fried dishes, grilled fares, and hearty soups. Add as much chilies you like for the ultimate experience!

    Gulay Na Santol

Sure, you’ve already had Bicol Express, but have you tried Gulay na Santol the Bicolano way? Gulay na Santol or Sinantolan as what locals call it is made with grated santol rinds, aromatics, siling haba, gata, and dinailan which is a kind of shrimp paste that has a powerful taste and smell. This goes well with anything grilled or your favorite Filipino soup like Bulalo and Sinigang.

Other side dishes worth checking out: Tinumtuman or Gulay na Lambo, Laing, Tabagwang

    Pinangat

Laing is a popular Bicolano side dish, but have you tried Pinangat? This one is a mix of taro leaves, river shrimps, and young coconut simmered in mildly spicy coconut milk wrapped in gabi leaves.

    Binutong

    157509203 10158371117896622 4061979803752369502 n

If you’re a fan of anything kakanin, Binutong will be a new addition to your favorites. This Bicol delicacy is made with glutinous rice and coconut cream wrapped in banana leaves, and steamed to cook. It may sound simple but the sweet flavor and chewy texture is just delectable! Dust it off with some brown sugar and pair it with your favorite coffee.

“Now is the perfect time to book those flights as we continue seeing more destinations ease restrictions – be it for immediate travel to take advantage of flying easy now; or for future trips everyJuan can look forward to as the fund can be used to book flights up to a year out,” said Candice Iyog, Vice President for Marketing & Customer Experience at Cebu Pacific.

Here are the steps on how to use the Travel Fund:

    1.     Remember to keep your Travel Fund booking reference on hand.

    2.     Choose your new flight and book as usual. The owner of the Travel Fund must be included in your booking.

    3.     On the payment page, select “Travel Fund” and input the booking reference of the fund you want to use.

CEB continues to offer flexible products that enable its guests to fly easy and safely, such as the CEB Flexi, a flight add-on that allows passengers to voluntarily cancel their flights for free, up to two (2) hours before departure, and store the value of the booking in a Travel Fund. This may be purchased via initial booking for as low as PHP 499.

“We’re glad to have developed this product months ago as we know this remains relevant and beneficial for all those who feel like they still need additional flexibility as the world transitions to COVID becoming endemic,” added Iyog.

On top of this, the airline continues to offer Unlimited Rebooking for everyJuan as it permanently removed change fees in 2020. Fare difference may apply.
