A Legacy of Jazz, Funk, and Soul

Incognito, led by the iconic Jean-Paul “Bluey” Maunick, has been a trailblazer in the acid jazz genre since the release of their debut album Jazz Funk in 1981. With a career spanning over four decades, the group has continuously redefined jazz by blending it with funk, soul, and a groove that keeps their music fresh and relevant.

The band’s long list of notable collaborators includes powerhouse vocalists such as Jocelyn Brown, Maysa Leak, Tony Momrelle, and Imaani. Their 1991 hit “Always There” catapulted them to mainstream success, peaking at number six on the UK charts. Since then, they’ve landed an impressive 13 albums in the Top 10 of Billboard’s Jazz Albums chart, with Tribes Vibes and Scribes being the first to hit in 1992.

Incognito’s Manila stop is part of their world tour, and Filipino fans are excited to hear timeless hits like “Still A Friend of Mine,” “Don’t You Worry ‘Bout A Thing,” and “Deep Waters” live once again.
