Playful and inventive, the film presents a charming premise: a flock of sheep that quietly learns the art of deduction from nightly detective stories. When an unexpected incident disrupts their peaceful farm life, the unlikely group decides it’s time to apply everything they’ve learned.

The Shepherd Who Loves a Good Mystery

At the center of the story is George (Hugh Jackman), a gentle shepherd who has a comforting habit. Each evening, he reads classic detective novels to his flock before bedtime. For George, it’s simply a relaxing routine.

What he doesn’t realize, however, is that the sheep are paying very close attention.

Word by word, clue by clue, they absorb the lessons from every mystery tale he shares. Over time, the flock develops a surprisingly sharp sense of observation and deduction.

When the Sheep Become the Detectives

Life on the farm changes when a mysterious incident suddenly shakes their quiet routine. With their shepherd unaware of their secret intelligence, the sheep quietly step forward to investigate.

Using the knowledge they’ve gathered from countless detective stories, the flock begins examining clues, observing suspicious behavior, and considering possible suspects among the humans around them.

The result is a lighthearted whodunit filled with humor, charm, and plenty of clever moments. After all, even the most underestimated investigators might hold the key to solving the case.
