Animal lovers, save the date: Animal Kingdom Foundation’s Run Fur Life 10 is happening at Central Park, Bridgetowne Destination Estate in Pasig City on Sept. 28.
It is the third time the event is being held at Bridgetowne, a premier destination estate by Robinsons Land (RLC), a pet-welcoming community that champions events for all, including our furry friends. The animal-inclusive event welcomes runners of all ages and their furry companions to a safe, vibrant space. Yes, you can run with your fur baby. There are three race categories: kids, adults and fur parents.
“For the past three years, Robinsons Land has been a proud supporter of AKF and Run Fur Life. By lending its open spaces to Run Fur Life, Bridgetowne reaffirms its commitment to creating meaningful spaces that bring together people, pets, and purpose. We’re excited to welcome back animal lovers, fur babies in tow,” said Mybelle V. Aragon-GoBio, Robinsons Land President and CEO. “At Robinsons, we believe pets are family. That’s why we’ve made sure our estates, malls, hotels—and soon even offices—are welcoming to them.”
“As the home of Run Fur Life 2025’s Superhero Edition, Bridgetowne transforms into a vibrant stage where everyday heroes come together for a cause. It is a place that celebrates not only lifestyle and leisure, but also compassion, advocacy, and collective action,” says Trina B. Cipriano, vice president and BU General Manager for Robinsons Destination Estates.
“Run Fur Life isn’t just a fun run—it’s a symbol of hope,” said AKF President Atty. Heidi Marquez-Caguioa. “Every step taken is a step toward a kinder world for animals. We’re thrilled to mark 10 years of running together with compassionate hearts. This year, we celebrate everyday heroes, friends, families, and fur families coming together for fitness, fun, and compassion, all in support of the voiceless.”
RLC, through its shopping malls, also supports the rehoming of strays and abandoned pets, expanding the reach of AKF’s mission. True to that vision, Robinsons Malls launched the Happy Pets Club nearly a decade ago—a community initiative that supports responsible pet ownership through exclusive services, events, and a shared space for animal lovers.
Run Fur Life is powered by a dedicated group of volunteers who juggle day jobs while committing their time and energy to support the mission of Animal Kingdom Foundation (AKF). They include animal welfare advocates, pet lovers, professionals from various industries, students and community leaders.
Since 2002, the AKF has been on a mission to end animal cruelty and promote kindness to all creatures. Among AKF’s projects are spay and neuter programs, anti-rabies vaccination drives, and animal welfare education.
Run Fur Life is one of AKF’s flagship projects—dedicated to supporting abandoned, rescued, and vulnerable animals while raising awareness and much-needed funds. Thousands of participants have joined since its launch, raising significant funds for animal welfare.
Proceeds will go to the AKF Rescue and Rehabilitation Center in Capas, Tarlac and will be used to rescue, shelter, rehabilitate and rehome dogs and cats. Tales of rescued dogs and cats finding forever homes are happy proof of Run Fur Life’s life-changing impact.

On its 15th year of celebrating the fabric of our culture, the Likhang Habi Market Fair is set to return on October 10 – 12, 2025, this time at the SPACE Events Hall of One Ayala (former site of the Hotel Intercontinental Manila) in Makati City. Moving to a bigger venue, the Fair will be hosting a fast-growing community of close to a hundred artisans and weavers from all over the country, offering unique and innovative products fresh off the loom.
The flagship program of HABI: The Philippine Textile Council, this year’s theme, Sining ng Tela – The Art and Legacy of Philippine Textiles, puts the spotlight on the creative forces behind the weaves that define our identity as Filipinos.
With a growing focus on the educational aspect of their mission, the HABI Council is taking advantage of the larger facility and will be holding a variety of events such as the HABI Lectures – a series of talks and panel discussions on design, entrepreneurship, and building a Filipino brand. There will also be presentations to highlight the rich cultures that produce the intricate weaves, screenings of the various documentaries that the council has created, and exhibitions of the entries to the 8th Lourdes Montinola Piña Weaving Competition and the 4th Eloisa HizonGomez Abaca Weaving Competition, among others.
“We want to give voice and value to the hands behind every woven creation,” said HABI Chairman Emeritus Maribel Ongpin. “The artistry of Filipino weavers deserves a national stage.” A staunch supporter of the weaving industry, she established the textile council in 2009 together with HABI President Emeritus Adelaida Lim and other fellow weaving advocates to revive and revitalize what was then a dying craft.
Today, the Likhang Habi Market Fair stands as incontrovertible proof that the weaving industry is back and stronger than ever. This vibrant marketplace offers a unique cultural platform where heritage, artistry and community are seamlessly woven to provide a meaningful market encounter. More than just a venue to buy and sell, it provides the artisans and weavers the opportunity to meet the people who actually use their products, understand their needs and improve what they can offer in the future. In turn, buyers and designers are introduced to the communities that produce the weaves, learn about the meanings behind the designs, and use the fabrics in ways that honors the culture that created it. Ms. Lim pointed out that at the heart of most weaving cultures are the women because the activity is considered a female pursuit. With the HABI Council making a range of resources and information accessible, they expect a rise of women in leadership roles as they facilitate the growing business of weaving.“The empowerment of women is an important advocacy of the HABI Council,” she reiterated. “This is in line with the Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations which we are actively pursuing. The availability of resources shifts the perspective, taking weaving from being a chore for girls into a viable career that will also aid in preserving their culture.”
The three-day fair brings together the different stakeholders under one roof – weavers, designers, entrepreneurs, suppliers, distributors and buyers – where connections are made and relationships are fostered to support an industry that is engaged and sustainable.
Mia Villanueva, HABI President adds: “Because we are in a new venue, we want our visitors to have a richer experience this year. Guests can expect a full spectrum of products using a wide range of indigenous weaves including handwoven textiles, garments, accessories, homeware, jewelry, and curated crafts. They can take time off from shopping by learning something new and interesting from the HABI lecture series, or sample a variety of regional delicacies from culinary artisans such as Chef Sau Del Rosario at the lounge and dining area .”
More than just a marketplace, Likhang Habi Market Fair promises to weave opportunities for growth, celebrate our identity, and strengthen the ties that bind us to our heritage.
Philippine Educational Theater Association (PETA) proudly announces the triumphant return of its award-winning musical Walang Aray, a poignant reimagining of Severino Reyes’ sarsuwela, Walang Sugat. The fiercer and sharper iteration of the well-loved musical runs from August 29 to October 12, 2025, at the PETA Theater Center, as the centerpiece of PETA’s 58th season, themed Love and Power.
Walang Aray proves that classic stories can be timeless when reinforced with a daring spirit that speaks to the pulse of today’s society. Now on its third run, PETA bares a more comedic, more subversive, and bolder and biting Walang Araythat speaks directly to today’s generation of Filipinos. It calls to rise, to love fiercely or as the spirit of the musical urges, Tumindig at Umibig… pa more!
PETA’s new Artistic Director, J-mee Katanyag explains the necessity of a rerun: “Walang Aray remains to be a relevant theatrical piece for every Filipino trying to live, love, learn, heal, and fight back in a world full of aray.”
The musical delves into how love and power intersect, examining how our romantic, familial, and national relationships are shaped and often wounded by systems of control. She adds, “This version doesn’t pretend we are unhurt. It acknowledges na may sugat, may aray mula sa kasaysayan, sa lipunan, sa pamilya, and that these wounds may change form over time, but they remain.”
Director Ian Segarra reflects on the initial staging of Walang Aray, acknowledging the risk involved in reviving a traditional form like sarsuwela and infusing it with comedy, meta-theater, and commentary. The show resonated deeply by mirroring collective experiences, proving that a story seemingly set in the past could reflect the pains, absurdities, and courage of the present.
As Segarra puts it, “Walang Aray became a bridge between the past and the present and for many, a realization that the wounds of our history are still open.”
At the heart of Walang Aray‘s new iteration is its revolutionary and inclusive casting. PETA embraced a bold vision and purposefully gave center stage to diverse voices and identities. This is an artistic choice that redefines storytelling. By featuring members of the LGBTQIA+ community in pivotal roles, PETA broadens the lens through which we understand identity, relationships, and community.
The inclusion of new cast members further adds to the excitement, with two sets of actors bringing “double the brilliance, double the chaos, double the heart.” Their fresh interpretations and electric chemistry have transformed the show.
This approach really drives home Walang Aray‘s main points: Love and Revolution. It asserts that true revolution begins with radical empathy and the courageous act of loving regardless of social constructs. This production advocates a non-binary way of looking at the world, where identity is celebrated, and love transcends conventional boundaries. We embrace and we accept.
The whole cast of Walang Aray is full of amazing original and new cast members, and each one adds their own unique touch that enriches the narrative. The casting choices are organically woven into the fabric of the production, making the love story resonate with an unprecedented immediacy. Artistry meets advocacy, which is embedded in the beating heart and DNA of PETA.For Ian Segarra, the rerun offered a rare opportunity to “dig deeper into the material with new eyes.” The team revisited scenes, questioned previous choices, and refined what needed refining, adding new songs and revisiting old ones. They also focused on ensuring a safe space for everyone in the production during rehearsals.
He shares that “the process was both humbling and thrilling”, especially with Norbs Portales joining as Associate Director, bringing “fresh pulse, insight, energy, and collaboration.”
Why is Walang Aray needed now more than ever? In the current Philippine social and political setting where divisions and prejudice still run deep and voices on the margins often struggle to be heard, Walang Aray offers an important counter-narrative. It reminds us that at the center of our struggles are varying stories of affection, defiance, and hope. The play’s message of love and revolution urges us to fight for a world where everyone belongs and can love without fear of “aray.” It’s a wake-up call, wrapped in laughter, proving theater is still a potent force for understanding the world.
For Katanyag, “Walang Aray reminds us na kahit may sugat, may saya. Kahit may aray, may pagmamahal. At kapag tumindig ka at umibig ka pa more, may pag-asa… May paghihilom.” When artists and audience, past and future, come together to tell these stories of healing, “baka sakali…Walang Aray becomes more than a title and a play. It becomes a way forward.”
The return of Walang Arayis more than a theater run. It’s a cultural moment. It is a celebration of identities, a call to remember together, and a reminder that love will always be the most powerful revolution.
Walang Aray is produced by PETA in partnership with Indie.Go Media, together with its official banking partner, Metrobank. The show runs for 38 shows at the PETA Theater Center from August 29-October 12, 2025. Tickets are now on sale via Ticket2Me.net
For partnerships and inquiries, contact PETA at publicrelations@petatheater.com. For more information about Walang Aray, follow PETA’s social media pages Facebook, Instagram.
